brandymcmb: Early this morning there was traffic at stepping stone junction, Satellite Town.
This young civilian was walking by and started directing traffic for hours.
And he did very well.
The CHANGE we are all clamoring for should start with YOU. In Awka, Anambra State, (Along Zik-Avenue _Old-Road_ Mostly at Amaku-Junction and at times at Parkers Junction), I usually see this disabled civilian that is controlling the dense traffic there. You read me correctly.. His two legs are so bad, and he usually begs from the motorists while controlling the traffic.. The good news is that he does the traffic controlling so well, and with passion.. The bad news is that, for all these years he had been controlling the traffic and begging at same time, government have never recognised him. I will video him soon, and make a good story out of it and upload it.. I may have to make a photostory of him too and post it here on Nairaland.. He is a hidden hero. |

Piece of advice for APGA... 1. They should stop boasting for now and face this opposition target for now and work hard towards it.. 2. Now that APGA has people in Bayelsa and Taraba, it is no more an Igbo party.. They should open up to all Nigerians, and not just the Igbos |

I told him he should have given it to laundrymen but he said he got the invite Thursday afternoon and that his area has not seen light for over 2 weeks!
Has this happened to you before? Please share the electricity situation in your area...PHCN a disgrace to Nigeria and yet we keep paying bills When I saw the topic, I was thinking that he got disqualified because his clothes were so noticeably rumpled to the extent that the interviewers spotted and even commented on it.. Foreign Affairs › Re: We Won't Apologise, Foreigners Are Not Welcome -south Africa King Replies by tk4rd: 4:03pm On Apr 18, 2015 |
MaxNaija: King Goodwill Zwelithini stands by his view that foreigners should go back to their home countries. KING Goodwill Zwelithini meant each and every word when he said foreigners must pack their bags and get out of South Africa.
So said Zwelithini’s spokesman, Prince Thulani Zulu, who told Daily Sun yesterday the king has nothing to be sorry for.
The Zulu king’s outburst came on Saturday during his speech at a moral regeneration event in Pongola, northern KZN.
In the presence of both Police Minister Nathi Nhleko and provincial MEC Willies Mchunu, the king was reported to have told the gathering that it was time foreigners were told to return to their countries.
The king accused them of messing up the country’s towns by hanging their fake clothing brands on the streets.
“Now when you walk down the street you can’t recognise a shop you used to know because it has been taken over by foreigners who mess it up by hanging up rags,” the king said.
His remarks were widely condemned as encouraging hatred towards foreigners, which may result in more violent behaviour towards them.
But Prince Thulani said the king won’t apologise because he stood by what he said.
“I think the people who’re complaining are misinterpreting his speech.
“He didn’t say foreigners must be attacked or harassed.
“The king was talking about foreigners who are here illegally.
“Some are involved in serious crimes like drug and human trafficking.
“We don’t need such people in our country so the king is right,” said Zulu.
The king’s speech has been strongly criticised for fuelling hatred against foreigners by the Somali Association of South Africa and the Congolese Solidarity Campaign.
The provincial government distanced itself from the king’s speech. It said it was guided by the Constitution, which guarantees human rights for all in SA.

Romance › Re: Was I Wrong? by tk4rd: 10:20pm On Apr 16, 2015 |
Yomieluv: Lemme make it short.
Went to a friend's place on Tuesday to watch Real-Madrid match. After a while,I heard a knock at the door,my friend went to open,I started hearing noise,on getting to the door,I saw my friend beating his girlfriend. I had to ask,he said the girlfriend came unannounced, and want to force herself in,which resulted to fracas.
I settled them, and went drop the girl in her hostel in unilag, went I came back to my friend's place,he was shouting that why should I go drop the girl off to her hostel, that I should have left her outside, when he locked the door against her. That my loyalty should be to him.
My question is this, was I wrong to have dropped her? I went to drop her because she was crying, bruised, and her sandal was torn.it will be unfair to leave her outside.
How can I help her out of the toxic relationship, without being seen as a traitor,or back-stabber by my friend, because its obvious my friend didn't like her at all, she's the one forcing herself on him.
Imagine after the whole beating, while driving her to school, she was pleading with me to beg my friend for her,I was like WTF in my mind, but didn't say anything, that I will get back to her. Guy, open up to the babe wen next u see her and tell her that the guy has no likeness at all for her, not to talk of love.. Tell her pump-and-plain that the guy has many girls like her that are forcing themselves on him, and he no send dem, including her herself.. And dat if she continued forcing herself on him, then she may end up being de biggest fool of the century |

VictoryAfrica: Namadi Sambo :
Even his status as the incumbent Vice President and a one-time governor of Kaduna could not ward off a heavy loss for his party in his home state. Though no-one really expected him to "deliver" the North — or even the North West — to the PDP, the low-key and ever-smiling Vice President should have brought much more to the table in the March 28 and April 11 elections than he ended up doing. Which kept me asking.. Are Vice-Presidents and Deputy-Governors meant to be Low-Key.?? |

VictoryAfrica: Chibuike Amaechi :
His party may have been victorious at the Presidential polls, but it's been a pyrrhic victory for the APC chieftain. His failure to "deliver" his state to the All Progressives' Congress a fortnight ago was partially overlooked and forgiven amidst the euphoria surrounding their triumph at the national level, but April 11's heavy defeat will not go unnoticed. The Director-General of the APC Presidential Campaign Council could do little as his party was trounced in a state where he is the governor, at the hands of the his arch rival, the Dame Patience Jonathan-backed Nyesom Wike of the PDP. Amaechi may be an integral part of the incoming APC-led federal government, but back home in the South South, his influence has been significantly whittled down. Can Buhari trust Amaechi.?? His behaviour is that of a greedy betrayer. |

TALKING ABOUT MERIT AND CORRUPTION IN NIGERIA... .... In Nigeria, if somebody happens to get something that he merited, just like that (without him having to go some extra miles for it), then, it means that the person "Over-Merited" that thing.. What it means is that, that thing was meant for that person alone and no one else, and that no one else was able to gain access to it before it reached him.. ....... In Nigeria, even when something is being merited by someone and is meant for the person, but it happens that someone else can have access to it, then, this other person would just gain access to it and take over it.. ...... This is the behaviour of an average Nigerian, and we seem to see nothing wrong with it.. This is what we grew up with, and thus, Integrity is no more in our blood. Consequently, we would carry this foul behaviour into our various offices.. ....... If unauthorised accesses should be checked and eliminated in the process of handling and passing down "packages of merit" from the source to the merited owners, then, corruption would be reduced too.. In that case, these middle men would pass down what should be passed down, without gaining access to it (no matter how hard they tried to gain access to it), not to talk of keeping it for their own personal use.. The corruption in Nigeria is mainly as a result of people who are supposed to be guarding against unauthorised access to sensitive objects, who turned out to be the very ones selling out the access to these very objects so cheaply.. (as can be seen in the above example) Now, the question is, "where do we start in correcting this anomaly.?" ........ The problem of corruption in Nigeria, as we all know, is deeply rooted in "Mis-management of Funds".. Meaning that, the Nigerian wealth is getting into the wrong hands just because these middle men gained access to what they naturally shouldn't have gained any access to; and they think it is just normal. First of all, a very quick solution to corruption in Nigeria would be to enable a system that eliminates all unauthorised access to funds and sensitive documents, no matter how hard the defaulters tried to gain access. This would surely go a long way. Secondly, the habit and culture of integrity should be planted and imbibed in Nigerians even at very tender ages.. ....... **Modified** See as the woman sef dey peep and check to make sure person no dey see her from afar; but she no know say Millions of eyes are already watching her directly at a very close range |
