8,000 a month for home wifi, that's 96k. Then 2,500 monthly on my Mtn, that's 30k. And then another 6k spent on etisalat PAYG when I needed to download some really big files (about 135gb). My internet is my life, can't do without it. Plus I'm a heavy data user, and I hate slow internet. I stream seamlessly on YouTube constantly, sometimes for hours.

aloeman15:
The easiest way to understand this is to look at large companies.
Most large banks are money spinners. They use your money to hire, train good staff, invest in capital or financial market projects and open more branches. Each branch simply duplicates the winning formula.
For theory, read Rich Dad, Poor Dad. For practical, you need to shadow or study one or two mentors in your areas of interest. Find them at church or your company's clients. Also, remember that guy in the bible who spent about 14 years with an uncle who refused to give him 'freedom'? He planned, worked and became richer than his 'master'.
So understand that you must invest your time, energy and money in learning how money works o!
Chaaaiii..!!!
You just opened my eyes a little bit wider.
I will devote my 2016 in learning more about how money works..
How I wish I knew all these all along.

I'll advice you to look beyond service rendering. The best way to leverage in Nigeria today is on a physical product. So look towards that direction. Seek advice on product that interests you and learn how to produce and own yours first. That's the most important for now. Its really hard to leverage on services compared to a physical sellable product.
Wooww.. Something like liquid detergents, does it make sense.?

Its very possible and its through leveraging. If you want your money to work for you, you'll need a sellable product, a very attractive pricing system and a good team(workforce) you can work with to achieve your goals. When u have all these in place, then we can move on to the next level where I'll show you how to manage your team in terms of very attractive commission payments and so on.
Please break this all down for me.
Please come again.
I admit that I am a learner here.
I have acquired some engineering design and construction skills, but I do the field works with hired labourers and artisans. But even at that, I work my ass out in supervising the supervisors and foremen on site..
I am the one doing most of the design and supervisory works, and not my money per se.
The men working for me cannot really work without being supervised.
What can be done in this situation.?

Please let's forget about all this humility talk blablabla IMO its spiteful. All we need is the spirit of sportmanship. You get the job, I didn't, I congratulate you and move on, I get it, you didn't, I still congratulate you, cos Dangote and Otedola never worked in nlng, maybe you are just about to become the next big thing. Everybody that has made it this far is good. You may have been in your best shape that day and for one reason or another next guy was not just in his best. Let this stage just pass, there is so much to do. I won't brood over anything for more than 3 days good or bad. The steps of a righteous man are ordered by the Lord. I count it all joy! I want to say to a very large degree this thread was far better, we had rough times we came out more friendly.
I have planned my 2016 already like say there is nothing like nlng sef. So, if I happen to get regret mail, my life would still be at full speed, afterall nothing spoilt.. I would feel bad at that moment though, but that would just be an instanteneous reaction to bad-news, and not that my whole life had crumbled right before my eyes.

Yes, Bill Gates wakes up every morning $4 million dollar richer than yesterday's night.

Money works for him while he is asleep. Myself cut short my vacation because of money i will collect tomorrow morning from my boys. They did the work, i planned it earlier for them.

The fastest way to get rich is to let or make people work for you. Imagine the work you alone can do, lets say you can generate a value of N70,000 on your business monthly doing it yourself alone. What of you now replicate yourself into 10 boys generating N70,000 each monthly in 10 different Strategic Business Units you arranged for them and you compensate your 10 boys based on commission on their turnover. . Means you will be making N700,000 from the efforts of 10 boys whom you have coached in your art. Preparing a workable TEAM is the secret of billionaires. All these boys must be smart and reason the way you do. Its not one days job but years.

You then decide what your strategic business will be, product or service. Let me stop here for now..
To be sincere, I am a novice when it comes to business..
I've read about getting other people to work for me.. i.e, business., But how to go about it in reality is another problem.
From the italicsised part, is the commission that you pay them going to be their take-home pay.? Or are you going to pay them the N70,000.?
What if they get to discover how much they were generating for me and compared it with how much I usually compensate them with, and then decide to break off and stop working for me, what will I do.?

Please this is very important to me.. I don't want to waste 2016. Everybody must not be entrepreneurs, or self-employed, or businessmen.. Even Salaried workers can save up a good chunk of money, but the question is, "What next should happen to this saved money so that it begins to work for the owner.??"
Is it fixed-deposit, Or starting a business (this is somehow difficult for a regular worker), or giving it out loans with the hope of getting interests.?

Yes it has been an issue resolving with the management the number of GT intakes. Yes they have resolved to recruit far less than the figure earlier envisaged and proposed. Yes 2015 has come to an end. The year was like a car on a journey but lost a tyre (oil price fall). The driver managed the car (company) to the nearest vulcanizer stand (end of the year) to properly take his time to fix the tyre. Now, companies are going to sit down and decide well how they are going to swim through 2016 with less shock. Plenty marathon meetings underway. A lot of companies, wobbled through the year till they hit the last month of the year. You know the industry was caught unaware in the middle of the journey we don pack load, plan journey come take off. A lot of companies just managed to keep some staffs on their employ till end of the year. Now, every tom, dike and hanna's position and job function MUST be thoroughly evaluated to justify it's individual existence else it will be absorbed into another role, just as Buhari collapsed ministries.

Now, companies are studying a lot of predictions and forecast of 2016 to base their budgets and plans so as to weather through the coming year without much economic shock. So, how do they do this? They make plans against the worst industry meltdown scenario. FG, picked $38/barrel of crude oil for her budget, but many predictions says oil will fall to about $20/barrel.
Thanks so much..

So, my info is, yes the number of prospective GTs to be employed have been drastically reduced. Does it call for panic? No!!! It calls for diversification and pluralization of plans and pursuit. Yes, in this part of the world, we are jack of all trades and master of all because of the dynamism of our economy and country. Every move and plan one makes in this country must have series of back up plans. No thanks to an unpredictable country and her dicey economic mileu. Let's have an open mind and begin to think outside the box. Wish you all a great year ahead.
You know, this is the time of the year we make serious plans for the coming year.
I want to know how I'm going to place the nlng-line of possible plans in the whole picture of planning

The friends that are silly enough to have time to follow her to such a place would not be smart enough all of a sudden to turn down some calculated diverted attentions.

Diamonddris:
My name is Diamond, and I just had a new girl friend after breaking up with a very loving girl(my X.).

But the problem I have with this my new girl is that every time she comes visiting, she comes with two to three of her friends and this is so annoying.

Minus spending a lot of money to entertain the four of them,I dnt get any intimacy with my girl because of the presence of her friends..although the girl is very pretty..

When I asked her why she brings her friends to my house in all her visits, she told me that she wants them to see how handsome I am..when I told her that her reasons are ridiculous, she grew angry, and I love this girl...and she is not picking my calls for two days now.

Please Nairalanders, what should I do?

Am I in love? Or has STUPIDITY taken over ME?
You are partly the cause. You are still treat her so special in front of her friends even when she came to your house with them.
See, you can only treat her special the first few times she did that, after which you start getting very familiar with those friends, hug them in her presence if you can, and call them with their sweet pet names.
Even sef, if you think that any of her friends is beautiful, just tell her clearly that her friend is soo beautiful., that you would like to be seeing her often and possibly get to know her better.. She will catch the warning in ur words

Analysts in the house, please, is this going to be a good sign or a bad sign for us.? Will it increase or decrease the number of new intakes.?
Gas proceeds from the Nigeria Liquefied Natural Gas and others have dropped by 50.2 per cent from $169.728m in January, the latest data from the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation have showed.
The NNPC put gas proceeds from the NLNG, Escravos Gas to Liquid, Natural Gas Liquids and NGAS in October at $84.575m.
“Export gas sales and NLNG feedstock accounted for $84.57m i.e. 18.97 per cent contribution to the Federation Account compared with 31.21 per cent contribution in September,” the corporation said in its latest monthly report.
The dip in gas revenue was partly as a result of the sustained fall in global natural gas prices since last year and increased supply in the market.
From a peak of $6 per million British thermal unit last year, the natural gas price has fallen below $2 per mmBtu this year. It was trading around $1.98 per mmBtu.
The NLNG Limited had recently warned that its revenue was being threatened at the international market amid the fall in global oil prices.
Many of the global natural gas markets are linked to oil prices, which have fallen by more than 65 per cent since June last year.
The firm expressed worry over the impact that the fall in crude prices was having on its revenue, stressing that the entry of the United States and Australia into the LNG market was “a real cause for concern.”
The NLNG stated, “The recent fall in crude oil prices from above $100 per barrel in early 2014 to below $60 per barrel in early 2015 and its impact on global LNG/gas prices as well as the demand/supply positions in both our primary and secondary markets in the Atlantic and Pacific Basins have had a significant impact on our revenues and profitability.
“The trend, which will persist till the end of 2015, and which may even worsen going into 2016 with the entry of US and Australian LNG volumes into the market, is a real cause for worry.”
The NLNG, in addition to its traditional deliveries to Europe and the United States, supplies LNG to South America, with deliveries to Mexico and Brazil; and to Asia and the Middle East, with deliveries to Japan, South Korea, India, China, Taiwan, Thailand and Kuwait.
The company, which currently has LNG production capacity of 22 million metric tonnes per annum, is owned by the Federal Government, represented by the NNPC (49 per cent), Shell Gas BV (25.6 per cent), Total LNG Nigeria Limited (15 per cent), and Eni International (10.4 per cent).
