It is not about me. You are the one who tried to compare it ALL to visiting an uncle/aunt in a village and I tried to draw you back to the reality some have posted on here. It is always good to ACTUALLY continue people's realities rather than continuing to compare the situation to some situation that is likely very removed. whats your point? do you just jump on stuffs or you dont actually know what i was talking about read back and show me where i talked about uncles/aunts in the village when ure done, edit all u posted |

ola olabiy: it is not bad to stay with relatives but it is bad to go back to make jest of them and their bank balances. ok? anyone who makes jest of either relatives/friends/enemies after he/she was accomodated for free must be a doofus we dont need a soothsayer to know thats not what everybody does |

Kobojunkie: Oh come on!!! You and I know it is not the same. That we used to go off to the village, and crash people's houses is not same as some of the stories we have heard so far on here. For one, many of us try not to IMPOSE on our uncle's and aunts. I remember the days I spent with my uncle and his wife some time ago. I made sure to help with house chores, go with them to do grocery shopping and ran errands. How many people who come in from Nigeria to visit the UK do this in the house of their hosts? THINK!!
People here just revealed what they have really experienced at the hands of persons they have taken in. Not the same level of respect that some of us are used to according our hosts back in the village but something else. Hello oo maybe u dont know some people have parents living abroad or even siblings. if i visit and i choose to stay with mum/dad wht d fck is wrong with it? or i choose to stay with my younger siblings, how is that an issue? if the chores in ur house is the prob, tell whoever is coming to visit to bring packer and brooms as the condition precedent to allowing the,m enter ur crib. I dont know whats difficult in this- if a younger relative is coming to see you for a few days, then it makes sense for him/her to help out, but if ure taking in an elderly person, do u expect him/her to start mopping ur floor cos u wanna accomodate him/her in my case, ill only stay with relatives if they ask me to come and i know 100% certain that even if i stay in a hotel, my hotel room will be filled with siblings till the day i leave for home. so do as it pleases u cos from all im reading, all man to his own style and beliefs. This is not a NIN issue at all. |

Same goes for the London resident that has suddenly experienced his epiphany during his sojourn in Queensland. I mean, we are all used to our uncles and aunties, and their kids from the village, crashing with us in Lagos, and vice versa. How come now it's suddenly an issue? Now that we live in the white man's country and he does not do it, it means we are suddenly foolish for doing it, I guess. The Indians in the UK live practically on top of each other, don't they? Thank you!!!! when did it become an issue to stay with relatives you havent seen in a while? na wa!!!! i seriously think we 9jas have issues |

Kobojunkie: Why? I really don't appreciate the way we GENERALIZE here. I consider it RUDE when some of the nincompoops on here assume that because you state the FACT of the appalling levels of living in Nigeria, you are anti-Nigeria or have no desires to return to Nigeria. How can anyone make that CONNECTION and expect that it is a logical one? That I hate the situation does not in anyway mean I WILL NEVER visit the place or move down to the place. The real world does not work that way. Kobo noo, i wasnt refering to you i was asking Dayokanu; na my paddy for Lagos b4 he left and i know he wont step into Nigeria in 10yrs for reasons best know to him its not about u at all |

Kobojunkie: Ok . . . I thought you meant all countries. Yeah, the Nigerian situation is definitely ridiculous in my view. The cost of Land, I still cannot get my mind around. i swear its totally ridiculous paying such rent in Nigeria with no visible structure/amenities if you know how much a parcel of land goes for in Lagos, u'll scream dayokanu: Another NID vs NIN argument. I have stayed in both and can make an assesment but I nefa reach to pay $27,000 per annum as rent.
But Kobo, One of my colleagues while in school was living in a condo around Michigan/Clinton and was paying like $3500 per month for a one bedroom apartment.
Whichever one works for you whether naija or Abidjan, all na abroad which one works for u? i doubt if u have plans to ever come Lagos again abi no be so? |

The word average must have been redefined, and I am definitely the one who lost out.
I agree with one comment here - there is an unhealthy need by many Nigerians to compare and be better than the next Chinedu/Efe/Mohammed out there. I don't really know how much value there is in such an exercise. thank u jare can we close thread debosky, where have u been? |

Most Nigerians that have Bank Rent (Mortgages) are paying over a £1000 a month,
You go and do the maths!! its simple arithmetic 1,000 a month = 12,000 over 1,000 could be 1,2000 = less than 15,000 a far cry compared to 27,000 dont u think so |

martinosi: tkb417 leave all this talk as i own properties in Lekki,
[b]if you are going by per annum, the avergae Nigerians rent in the uk on a yearly basis is nothing less than 5 Million in Naira equivalent
also remember that many Nigerians in the uk are Landlords in Nigeria so dont get it twisted!!!, Nigerians in the UK send £1.5 billion pounds in Money Transfers to Nigeria on a yearly basis!!!
So Lets not go there o.k!!!
Who do you think the Property developers In Lekki are marketing their properties to ?
and why are they always doing marketing fairs in London ? ok martinosi if u notice, i dont have probs with all u people are saying; i only responded cos one of ur londoners was sounding as if living in london guarantes everythn and as per ur estimates, i doubt an average nigerian pays 27,000 GBP per annum and oh yeah, foreign rimittances to Nigeria from all countries is about a billion dollars. so how will remittances from UK alone be 1.5 gbp. Not that it matters tho but hey, ur stats are always staggering; where do u get them from? |

Kobojunkie: When I ran the calculator with no dependents and no children I got
If your total income is Naira 100,075,000, No dependents and No children, you will likely pay about Naira 19,992,000 in Taxes Which is less than 20% and that is seriously cheap rates there if you also don't pay federal taxes.
Are people allowed to use the online calculator for calculating real taxes too? If person fit use that calculator, print the result and send it in with payment, I hope dem go take am oo cause it gives you less than 20% on even 100 million income. yeah kobo, its around 20% circa so u can come to Nigeria |
