When some of you on this debate are going through a serious torment in life please refer to several thread you have posted regarding this debate.

The funny thing about the devil is, the more you support him hence the more torment you acquire; so guys you are all free to carry on with your critics, your days of torment is at hand.
ol boi wait
This is not about any religion. The reason why some people curse the man is because of some of the way we carry ourselves we christians
This thread is simply about a poll and not who will be tormented or not.
We all cant be christians and the more we can accommodate some, the better for us all

Lets stick to the poll. Does he merit it or not, i guess thats why we are here
so keep it civil bro smiley

@tkb417

I went thru all your responses and I say NOTHING, I mean there is ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to be added. If people still question the existence of GOD, question if JESUS trully died for them or even some things about MOHAMMED, then we should expect them to do the same for their fellow human beings. But when these people die, they will tell you how much they miss them.

I am not defending anyone but the truth remains that even if you make your parents your Legend people will still ask why they deserve it. I don't like to pull people down cos I know I am perfect, I make mistakes, I do the little I can and people won't still appreciate it and I have not contributed enough to the society myself.

As for Jakumo, leave him with his probs for two reasons: 1. Whatsoever you sow, you will reap. 2. He has the same reward as those who laughed at Elisha the other day and those whom the earth swallow for Moses' sake. 3. He is not referring to the man in question cos he has never gotten his name right.
thank you ma'am

The poll results show the depth or shallowness of Nigerian minds. Considering the class of people that participated in the poll, that could be described as the working and supposedly enlighten group, it is not funny. However, the mode of poll collection would not make it representative of Nigerians minds though.

Now that Adeboye knows that his people recorgnise him, he should be bold to tell his friends in government to rule his people well and stop stealing.

Whatever happened to Pastor King and co never opened the eyes of some blind followers.
I am a Catholic but I question Pope sometimes.
That is called Religion.
Religion is not to "believe without doubt", It is faith.
And we must not have faith in another human being no matter what.
and how does that affect the topic of discussion?
stop throwing red herring, didnt you just claim to be an old man
act like one and stick to the topic

I know this is off the main topic but i am saying this for
Brainwashed morons who are following some Pastors with their eyes closed.
Where again in the world has the number of Churches Like NIGERIA ?
Yet NIGERIA is one of the worst countries on the Planet Earth.
another applesauce from someone who should know better
take a cue from Kobojunkie and see how he passes his message across

Pastor adebayo should win the living legend of the people of his Church, Not My own Nigeria.
What happened to all those people who cut across the entire Nation
People like , Okocha, Kanu, even Garba lawal made the whole nation happy with soccer.
Even seun osewa has a platform for the whole Nigerians to interact.
Even Osuofia dazzled the whole nation with his talent?
now ure missing the point
by your standards, okocha is good enuff to win a living legend poll cos of his trade? (soccer) and because he won the olympics for Nigeria or what?
has it cross your mind that some people dont give a flying fck about soccer?
to some, its a waste of our tax payers money to be investing in sports facilities
Has it cross your mind that some people think that way?
how are you different from such people?

I dont even know the adeboye, perhaps i have heard of RCCG but never ever consider going there (to do what actually), to receive the key of Heaven i guess,
red herring. we dont need such info

How did pastor adebayo, kumuyi, bakare, king,(the one that blows vocab and the one that relaxes his hair ),
how did they manage to be More popular than the Pastors of Europe who brought Church to them?
stupid question?

Who has the Answer? How, Its because of the money of the poor people, poor uneducated citizens of our beloved country.
I have seen a thread here where one idiot asked if he should use the only money he has to pay for TITHE or House Rent? lol, see what i am talking about?
you dont know jack and yet you live in a developed economy. The pastors in europe live more flamboyantly than the Pastors around here.

What ever happened to David Oyedepo of Winners,
The whole religion thing has turned into something else,  Now when they are asked to pay tax they grumble.
jesus never rode a car or anything moving from one place to the other on earth( the donkey he used to enter Jerusalem was even borrowed)
and even his disciples after his death where going from one place to the other preaching the word( and they did not buy a land or even own stuffs)I am not saying the Pastors should not live a good life but it should not amount to keeping riches and showing off.
A 4billion naira Jet for Adeboye was what made me to stop tripping for the man.
perhaps he should have refused it and chose to be simple/.
If people say he is simple but doing complex things then what does that mean.
Oyedepo on the other hand won't even allow students who don't pay full fees write exams or stay in school.
And he benefitted from Missionary schools during his early stages in life.

If there was no missionary school. would there be Educaction this much as we have,  and then it was all about please bring your child to school,  Nowadays is if you don't pay the school fees, don't bring your child to school.
ignorance!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Jesus rode a donkey shey?

what was the means of transportation at that time?
Their were no cars nor jets at that time bruv so relax
The donkey Jesus rode had never been touched by anybody prior to when jesus rode it to the temple meaning it was a special donkey.
When you ride a donkey those days, it means ure one of the affluents in the society!

Read, read and understand stuffs b4 u throw poppycocks on the internet!

You definitely dont have any idea how tithes are collected in RCCG!

He doesnt pay tax? May be you should check and Lagos tax office!

May be you need to find out who actually owns the so called Jet, University or Schools!

RCCG does not belong to Adeboye. He did nont found the Church. He is only the present Pastor. All assets owned by RCCG belongs to RCCG both now that Adeboye is the pastor and after him.

Try to state only facts of which you have personal knowledge, not hear say, rumour or outright falsehood!
Ignorance will kill Nigerians
RCCG is not owned by Pastor Adeboye and pls enlighten them
If he dies today, another Pastor takes over
The Jet , the Schools, the cash and all belong to RCCG

please tell dem

and also, i say thank you for those who just reminded us that he happened to be amongst the top 50 most influential people in the world
abeg which other Nigerian made the list?

yes, those that picked him were brainwashed too shey?
i don tire grin

Ok!!! Why worry about making anyone a Legend in a country wrought with corruption? I mean what exactly was the po8int of this exercise? Rebranding?
hehehehe
Thats another good point! of what use is the whole shebang for real?
i personally dont believe in all these kinda things
anything PR has too much adverse effects on personalities

Another misrepresentation here again? I ain't here to pull anyone down man.
I have two issues here. He won it cos of the religious sentiments Nigerians espouse in doing things.
Secondly, if the whole of Nigeria or at least a good majority where to vote, believe u me, Adeboye will not win.

I don't have issues with him or anything matter of fact i careless who wins but am we should learn to give it to the winner sans sentiments

If you were to vote, in all honesty, will you vote Adeboye? Say the truth and shame the devil?
im fine with ur points about religious sentiments. No probs
but people who voted do not share your sentiments so what do you do to that?
in fact the majority do not share your sentiments grin grin grin ( He won the poll remember)

kanu will win because we have a lot of football followers too or dont you think so?

if i were to vote, ill vote for Gani Fawehinmi
will vote for him if he contests for Presidency but im not sure he'll win

My position is we shld stop pulling down
Emperoh, im not saying ure pulling down. In fact, some have made points why they think he shouldnt win and thats fine but when people come here to say hes evil, hes stealing money, hes buying jets at the expense of his congregation, then i'll beg to differ

Kanu has a heart foundation, the man in question gives schorlarships to poor students, he fends for people, he has a UNI and a lot of people can attest to how he has helped them.

I dont want to sound like im defending him, im against those writing rubbish against him cos he won a poll.
If it was Gani that won and people come with rubbish, ill still come here to defend.

The spirit of pulling down shld not be encouraged more so when we havent dont anything ourselves

Now this is where you got it all wrong!! Who told you its about fame?
Other got the fame and used it to help humanity and Nigerians. . . . . .ok Rev King is a Nigerian living Legend according to you?
Say something else man. . . . . . . . . Nomination no wahala but winning? Mba. . . .ekwero m. . . .
The voting doesn't even represent what Nigerians think. . . . . How many states watch Silver Bird!!

Also have it in mind, Adeboye is only popular in RCCG!!!!
i dont do unnecessary arguements
Rev King and Adeboye are not in the same category but if u wanna go that lane, ill ignore your posts

The voting doesnt represent what Nigerians think? you may be right and also wrong
I can only ask how you came about with your dedections?

Adeboye only popular in RCCG? meaning it was only RCCG people that voted for him?
hehehehehe
its funny you know how youre trying to justify ur points

Kanu, Ojukwu and everybody on that list could have come out tops
people voted and the sample size of the people who voted is representative enuff to make it credible
go back and read ur statistics books if u have doubts how a poll can be credible grin grin grin

I a not shooting anyone down. . . i won't and will not
But i just think our level of reasoning ought to change a bit. . . . .in any case i will love to know the criteria for nomination and eventual winner!!

But if legend is what i know it to be, Adeboye still has some miles to cover. Mind you, this is not a test of popularity.
Heck why is Phillip Emeagwali not nominated and a host of others!!

These are people i consider should be remembered for innovations that add value to human existence and life.
My dear preaching on the pulpit is not enough. Moreso he is only popular amongst his congregation
Emeagwali was there last year and i dont think he won

are you saying he'll be nominated every other year? lol

Preaching on the pulpit? i dont know what ure talking about.
Thats what the man does, thats where he got his fame

Kanu got his through his football skills, Gani through his legal runs
so how is that hard to figure?

Dear Motherfucking bastard,

I am writing this letter with my heart on my hand as I want to express my hatred and despise for you. I think you are the worst thing that has ever happened to me. So rude, so bush, so duh! But you know what, I must admit you are one of a kind and that's why I can't stop hating you.

You speak rubbish all the time. You are a fucking misogynist. You droll over girls who don't give a motherfucking shit about you. Hey you dickhead didn't you know Mukina is my babe? I'll cut your privates when next I see you admire my gurl. This said back to us.

OBNOXIOUS, they say love is opposite of hate, but i think they are wrong. These two feelings are so strong, so similar that sometimes they cross borders to become one another according to the moment. But don't worry, nothing like that is going to happen to us: there is no way my hate will become love.

Whenever I see your posts and my name in them me heart flips in anger. Then I'd like to take a saw and cut you into pieces. But before that take out my butcher knife to skin you alive and use your intestine as my jumping rope.

Can you see the dept of my feelings? Never in my life have I hated someone like I hate you. These feelings are eating me up. I can't eat, can't sleep and can't drink, because I wish I could eat your motherfucking tongue, sleep with your skin as my sheet and drink your blood. That's how much I wish to have you. I'd like to burn you into ashes and spray you on my garden, so that everything I'd know I was walking on your motherfucking ass.

What have you done to me? Will ever stop hating you? Ireally hope my feelings are reciprocated,

See you in hell,

His point is that the voters do not reflect a good number of Nigerian opinions.
TKB for the love of intelligence and comparing those nominated on that list, do you think Adeboye deserves to win?

Has he done more for Nigeria than the likes of Chinua Achebe?
Methinks his being there is more of religious sentiment than pure achievement.
Heck. . . Kanu has more achievement tha Adeboye!!!
Emperoh baba!!

I dont care who wins!!!!!!!!!!
my problem is the way they are attacking the man cos he won a poll
what did he do wrong? winning the poll?

anybody can win and i wont give a hoot!
Put Soludo there as the winner and ill be here defending anybody who attacks him
We too like to dey bring people down even when we havent done a tenth of what these people have done

these people are super people, kanu, gani, Soyinka or Ojukwu. These are people who in history can never be forgotten so why cry hoax cos one of them is winning a poll. Has he won a presidency post? NO

Muslims : more than half of that population,

christians and and others : lets assume half of the population.

votes :

adebayo : christian votes : 60%

another regressive yarn!

Atiku owns a university
and so if he does?

call a spade a spade
if he owns a UNI, hes definitely adding to the development of 9ja
if u dont know, then too bad

Reading through most of the comments here, it appears none of the nominees or the winners deserve to win. Most opinions are typical of Nigerians' ''run them down'' atitude.

Before you can be celebrated by Nigerians, you must never have made a single mistake in your life. No matter your good works, a single blemish- whether proven or not-  is enough for them to condemn you.

If Jesus (or Muhhamed) were Nigerians and nominated for the award, Nigerians would still run them down.

I think this attitude is simply despicable and is one reason why the best people will never serve Nigeria.

South Africans celebrates Mandela (who was not the greatest aparthied fighter anyway but merely the surviving of the lot- eg Dedan Kimati) despite his flaws.

Americans celebrated Clinton despite his flaws;

Today, Nigerians speak against Awolowo, Azikiwe, Balewa, etc

In short, Nigeria has no hero, no one to look up to.

Sadly, most Nigerians who condemn these leaders are worse than them.

Nigerians are killing Nigeria!

Guys, Trust hypocrites with their theories, You needn't go far because our system in this country is where a person who is undeserving of something gets it first. In politics, religion, education, sports and what sector have you. It's a system not based on Meritocracy. In the first place,i beleive Adeboye's name was rigged into the poll just like Yar'adua's was to the presidential election that held in 2007 because if we are to even talk about living legends in the Christendom/spiritualism, he wont come anywhere near the 4th.What are we to say about Bishop Gbonigi,Arch-Bishop Alonge,Arch Bishop Anthony Okogie and their likes?these are people have really added one value or the other to these society and in no small way too.they have stood against our oppressors when their lives were at stake, they have been able to demonstrate a highl level of accountability and transparency in the handling of financial issues as it regards their flocks because i have never heard of any story of financial impropriety or the other labelled against them.If Adeboye is to come into the fray of these legends like Soyinka and Fawehinmi, why is Okotie,Oyakhilome or Oyedepo's name missing?
Again,i hear people saying he donated 50 Million (Euro,Pounds,Dollars or Nairahuh) to UnILAG.People, what legitimate job does he do to have that kind of money or did he donate that on behalf of RCCG?Is it not the poor people's money he claims to shepard(indeed)?
All in all, what has been this man's contribution to Nigeria's development?no amount of christian we have will solve our basic problems, a pointer to it is that the number of christians/muslims we have in Nigeria today does not have any impact on the level of corruption in the Nation today, its likeboth keep rising at the same pace. Our values keep getting worse yet the number of muslims/christians keep rising, what do these our preachers teach their congregation? final word
hehehehe
and now they are coming out in droves

by the way, i think one of the posters said he doesnt give schorlarships; now your grouse is where he got the money he gave to Unilag? huh
lmao!

one more thing, are u asking how hes has contributed to the development of Nigeria?
are you kidding me?

Pastor Adeboye, is no doubt, a devout Christian and a successful pastor, going by the size of his church – The Redeemed Christian Church of God.   However, the man has not been able to leverage on the enormous influence he wields to persuade successive governments to fall in line even in the face of numerous instances of government intransigence.

He failed to speak up when the nation needed him most during the 3rd term misadventure of his friend the erstwhile President, Olusegun Obasanjo.

Even in the field of Christendom, using any bench mark, it is unlikely that Pastor Adegboye will come before Pastor Kumuyi of the Deeper Life Bible Church, if the quality of their works rather than the quantity is considered.

Apart from that can anybody show a foundation he stet up for the less privileged
even his University, an average member of his church cant afford the fees
so what is so Legendary about him being a Pastor?
so, kindly help by throwing more light on how you arrived at your dull analysis?
i laff at quality of their works rather than quality
i tot quality is a pre to getting quantity?

Olaju de lo mu wa ka gbagbe asha idile wa.
Your wife should be an asset, not a liability . Pa Isaac Newton said if you are having to worry too much about wife maintenance as opposed to working together with your wife for family maintenance, then you might want to re-think getting married.

If you play the role of the breadwinner while your woman is the housewife, you should be willing to set aside at least 20,000 naira per month for her runs IMFO.
correct!
