The dude was lucky he wasnt sprayed with acid |
@ allOl boi, the Nigerian fixed Income market i can say is developing. Just like you know, the whole financial market is just evolving whilst we are at trying to pick one or 2 things from our developed folks. The government debt instruments are already a GIVEN in the 9ja fixed income market. Presently, some state Govts in 9ja have been raising cash through the issuance of bonds and ill say the Lagos state bond that was raised were snapped up in a record time. The govts of Rivers, Delta and i think Enugu are also in the process of completing their bond issuance. These activitie are already deepening the market. Its just a gradual process, we'll get there. The global Bond market has seen a lot of activities as a result of the equity meltdown is it the same in Nigeria?.yes o, just like i just explained. State Govts are taking the initiatives and the ball has already been set rolling I dont really hear Nigerians talk about investing in Bonds, but the effects of the current financial crises has shown that Fixed income asset class is key for a diversified portfolio.i dont have updates but a lot of corporate organisations are into debt. ive done quite a bit of this in the past 7 months. Anyone used to the DMO-debt management office here?one of ma friend worked there b4 moving to a commercial bank. Office is in Abuja what about them? you can read up on the net i think |
and u expect pre-nysc people to have acca and stuffs? ![]() u never start |
Benitez would rather resign than see Torres in a UTD shirt. That can't happen even if a voice is heared from heaven. We berra run after the availables b4 Real pack them enmasse to Santiago B. |
Joblessness ehn? @Dayokanu Do u have any other thing apart from ur usual utd is this and that? Make we hear word abeg. @mancs Who are we buying o? I want Ribery, Silva and Benzema. But from the look of things, Bayern and Lyon are not gonna play ball. We really need some creative midfielders and a poacher! The 'demise' of CR7 should make our team stronger. I'm sure we are winning the league again. Is Tevez leaving? Abeg, the dude should waka if he wants to go |
@Babalawo Just come back home and submit ur cvs in the organisations you would like to work. Things are on the low presently but you can still nick an offer from the inv. Banking outfits around |
are they going to play malta? |
Another sad deluded Yoruba tool!oponu alainironu ara Galatia ![]() |
I disagree with you. It's could be fine in an ordinary conversation, but not when you are writing or typing.ok sir! |
maybe First Bank and Union but not the other banks |
Look yourself in the mirror, you are a disgrace to Nigerian education.if i ask you why did you post this? what would you say? lemme attempt at giving an answer: "because ebay abused me on NL" or whatever you can use because to start a sentence so far its recognized as a dependent clause. ebay hasnt done anything to be a disgrace to education standard in Nigeria. Next time when youre taught stuffs, try as much as possible to discern why. Dont swallow stuffs without learning why it is so. cheers |
I think KPMG is better in term of pay but I prefer the working condition of PWC. You will have to make sacrifices like giving up your weekends, especially if you are in audit at KPMG. Tax and BRS are a bit better. Though its not entirely a bed of roses too at PWC but they are very flexible.i dont know what ure talking about but i know in pwC you work on weekends too. when its nearing the year end of the banks, u can be rest assured u'll work on sundays too till midnite kpmg and pwC are same in terms of working conditions in pay, yeah kpmg is better overall, i prefer kpmg by a billion miles |
First, I'm no longer in the investment banking system.Jarus, i was at Vetiva yesterday and i met the boss and the other peeps clean place. but why are they in that hideout? |

@ Eastbay,im used to asinine comments from these cats its good to know such a huge amount of money will be given cos of one player its crazy. we need to use that money wella |
They're staying for one more season tops but let's face it, these trio have gone over the hill.no put me in SAFs shoes, and ill sell Giggs and Scholes or force their retirements and get replacements |
Was business model the first words your mama spoke when you came out of the womb? Abeg make we hear word jo - roadside mathematician masquerading as analyst.hehehehe Ibime what kinda biz model is that? i tot a biz model is simply how you make money so has Madrid under Perez ever made money? |
Some classic quotes. . . . .huh? he wouldnt sell to the mob!! calderon is the bastard we do biz with Real and it goes back in the days Ruud, Heinze used to be our players; u remember? |
hey guys how is it going? hope u guys especially those in Lagos were able to catch u with the CFA guys in town a lotta questions and answers were given as per the exam, possible option of having exam centers in Nigeria, grading and all sorts it was really an enlightening session yesterday evening I think the few charterholders we have are meeting with them right now and i think its really good we are marching forward in this our investment biz its gud to know we are about having the society of investment professionals in Nigeria prelude to having our own CFA society in Nigeria for those who wrote the exams last week, how was it? wish you the best cheers |
Azigiza:first thing first I dont have anything to say about ur comment on Investment Bankers talking big, are you saying Oil workers arent talking big cos of the crash in oil prices? as for my friends in diaspora. I really do not know how to answer you but ill give you a piece Whatever you see happening in Nigeria is happening globally. The investment banking terrain in Nigeria may not be as rosy as we had like 18 months back but its not all sad tales. we have a system that cant be isolated from the recent happenings globally and i dont see any reason why we shld run beserk or start mourning. Most of the Investment banking outfits that really got shocked in 9ja were as a result of their exposure to the 9ja capital market basically, it wasnt really as a result of the subprime issues and the sophistication of the market( we dont run a derivative thingy here) The investment banking terrain in 9ja isnt suffering in isolation. Commercial banking, retail banking and all sorts are on a low cos of our financial market crisis. It may interest you to know that its abating and bizniz is picking up. as for my friends, they'll rather come back home where they know they can still bambozzle their way to getting employment than stay abroad where unemployment rate is spiralling check the US unemployment rate today and ull know we dont have such problems here I never said its all uhuru here and u will get that from my previous posts except ure the type that wont take time to read and understand b4 posting sagamite in a lil way has been able to add to what i would have said. The hardship is everywhere and it spreads across all nations and all organised private sectors so how is INV banking different? as par the bonus thing? ask and you shall be told stop telling untrue tales cheers |
zander87:you can send ur CVs anytime you want. You havent completed ur grad studies so i guess you dont have to entertain any fear. complete ur studies, send ur CVs and be expectant I dont work in an Oil and Gas coy. Jarus should be able to help with that |
deprofy:3 stages. you can read up on the Institute and the fees on their site |
dont get, there only 24 charterholders in naija? tot they would have been moreyep. Its actually 26 charterholders with about 38 members |
joshO:Both carry the same weight in me opinion if youre thinking of practising as a Finance expert. CFA charter however is the global seal that u can be called a Finance guru A global Mba from a top school will open doors but may not be the seal of approval in Finance My plan is to have both qualifications tho in the next 3-5 years Most of my ogas are charterholders with MBA from the best schools get the one you can get now, work on the other later and then ure well positioned to be a CEO in the non too distant future ![]() |
zander87:You are more than qualified to enter any company in Nigeria be it Investment Banking or Oil and Gas Print ur CVs and send to Nigeria. tell someone to help you drop them in the selected coys you have in mind u'll surely be called for tests/interviews |
@tbk are u presently online? if yes,pls lets IM on teecannrecruiting@yahoo.com. some info need to be passed on behind the veil. thanks.
hey T-Cann i'd already gone home when i got this and i couldnt respond. I however sent a mail to you via my wireless device. Dunno if u got it wont be around today cos of the CFA guys around Our bid to have a society might still take a while cos we need about 38 charterholders in this country b4 we can be granted our request. As of now, we can boast of 24. I heared they only have 7 charterholders in Ghana. we aint doing badly cos if you merge the candidates that wrote both June and last december exams, we had about 900 candidates!! Thats a lot and im hopeful, within the next few years,we'll cross that line and then have our status confirmed! we'll chat laterz |
nice one guys!! |
@tbk Its nice hearing from you, how did ur CFA go? a friend of mine working with CSL wrote, he said "God dey" As regards my ambition of crossing over to CF/IB, its been a long standing passion, i had already enrolled in for law b4 discovering my passion tru information for Inv Banking and since then, i have been prepin to change career-i studied law in shl with special interest and project work on Investmt and Securities law, ICAN, and now stage 2 of CIS, it was limited resources that made a run a personal fund rationing analysis and came to d conclusn of settling for CIS for now, till i get bigger kish to reg for CFA. As regards the tiring, long working hrs, weekends etc, your guys dey house, you cant tire a man out of what he loves passionately to do,he be at it for hrs and it will seem as if he just did 1 minute. Yours sincerely just got the simon benninga's 2008 ed. self study text on financial modelling using excel for some GBP,and with the help of some expert mentor and prior knowledge of finace,i hope to pick up one or two things, still in the spirit of prep to storm the industry. @ tbk I read in the papers the upcoming CFA institute seminar in Nigeria, i hope that will be an herald to the formation of the nig local CFA chapter and ultimately the location of an exam centre in naija. Peace to y'all.
Simon Beninga? LOL! Nice attempt! Now ure talking. Now i can see ure ready with all Black scholes and stuffs LOL! Good attempt bro Like you rightly said, if uve got passion for what you do, ull go a long way as for the CFA thing in Lagos, urs sincerely will be actively involved in this we need to get this running. As we speak, we have a board of trustees of the supposedly CFA Lagos in place but we are still lagging behind we must put some requirements in place b4 we can be granted 'our society' its work in progress tho and i know very soon, it shall come to pass cheers |
bros got a 2.1 from lag, economics, CIS level 2, gunnin for CFA nxt June, wat do u tink my chances are, yes, that prob will soon be over. 2:1 econs will get you anywhere you want to work and when u finish ur CIS, the ure already a hotcake but why CIS? u wanna be a stockbroker? |
