@Dudu
yeah, i know Evertons are supposed to earn some percentages if we sell him but i dont know the specifics

I dont think UTD are gonna make money from this but if UTD really wanna damn the guy, they put him on the bench from now till Summer

and oh yeah, he can then buy out his contract for a paltry 5milla

Will UTD do that? i doubt it

like u said, its a bad omen and the sooner it clears the better for UTD. He shd be allowed to leave if possible this night

@Mbulela

I think SAF is just in shock thats all

I do not think SAF rates Rooney higher than CR7 but it has never crossed his mind Rooney of all people would request to leave for NO REASON

Nyways, i dont think UTD would struggle to buy a 40m player if the need arises. I can stake big money on bets that UTD would go gung ho on transfer next season

Reason: Paul Scholes, Giggs are the pillar of the team and they are ageing. Next summer, i expect SAF to shore up the team with some rated players to balance the mix of the team. be that as it may, i expect UTD to test Liverpool for an audacious bid for Torres. UTD/SAF have always been on his radar.

In all, i see positives as selection henceforth would be based on merit and not just because someones name is Rooney and he has to be on the teamlist at all cost

Its a lesson to all coaches; Treat them like mercenaries; dont be too close and dont expect them to die for you

we fans are those who have the interests of the club at heart and maybe some players like Becks, Scholes , Giggs and co

Its United till i die and one more thing, i hate to say this but i think Rooney wont be unsettled for a long time aftermath this brouhaha

fingers crossed

And I really dont think we'll get much money for him if we sell. I reckon we'll be lucky to get £25M considering he's got 18months left of his contract. He's worth alot more than to us especially commercially. Im optimistic it will get resolved but if it doesnt, I trust SAF to keep the team challenging. Onward and upwards.
His presence in that team will bring negatives

I am one of the fans who feel insulted, embarrassed and shocked to read what the guy is up to

It's too early for smoking ganja. . . .Arsenal won the league in 2003/04 and JM won the next two EPLs in 04/05 and 05/06 . How on earth did Jose take the title from Utd?  huh

While the dynamics  have changed with Citeh's cash, things are still massively in the favour of Utd and Chelski with regards to winning titles. . .they 'know' how to win them. Rooney's (unlikely) departure won't dramatically alter that.
oga u and dudu need the Lords Intervention

UTD pre-Roman was/were the dominant team in the EPL )oh yeah you won in 2003/2004

and eversince then, remove Roman's money

how many titles, do you think u would have won?

1/5! and u think Romans money affected you more than it affected UTD?

The only season u people woulda won a title would have been 2004/2005 cos u came 2nd

what has been your position in the other 4 seasons? 3rd to 4th is it a lie?

so how can you say Chelseas money affected u more than it affected UTD

European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Manchester United Fan Thread: Red Devils' Zone! by tkb417(m): 5:12pm On Oct 19, 2010
. The circumstances are different, Manure's situation now is akin to Arsenal's leaking of quality players which started after the invincibles, you don't get a sudden drop in performances, it sets in over time. If you leak that many quality players its bound to start showing soon. With those 3 players, Manure won 3 PLs back to back and a UCL, since their breakup started, what they've won is a Carling cup and their PL placement doesn't suggest any improvement soon even though  I agree its early days
what is this guy saying?

we have only won Carling cup? bullchit

we did not win the EPL just last season and before you can make informed inferences about how the lost players have affected UTD, u have to wait 5 years like we have done for arsenal b4 u can compare with your 5 year barreness

2. The rise of Man city throws a spanner into the works just like the emergence of Chelsea's money did for Arsenal, do you really think if Chelsea's money hadn't come that Arsenal would have remained potless these past 5 years? who beat Arsenal in the FA cup semis and Carling Cup final?
crap

are we competing with Citey? or we are competing with 19 other teams?
i'll say Chelseas new money affected Manchester United more than it affected Arsenal cos Jose came with Roman to wrestle the title from us NOT FROM YOU. You people were never gonna win JACK!!!

Not saying they didn't do well but to move on from their and say they wouldn't miss Rooney if he goes is underestimating his abilities as a player, there is also the cascading of the effect on other players coming under more pressure and meeting higher expectations. Their season is already looking like most Arsenal seasons these past five years.Losing critical players to long term injury and important players moving on for some reason. Time will tell but if I were a Manure supporter I'll be very worried or at the least seriously reduce my expectations for this season.

I'm praying fervently he doesn't reverse his decision even though its not really fair on Manure and he's being a prat, but hey I don't like Manure anyway. grin grin

We came from behind to win most times and i can remember when we were 16th on the table and yet we won the league

@Jalether,
Times have changed.
Don't compare the loss of Becks,Keano,RVN and co to this one.
SAF replaced them almost immediately with quality players, or he already had them in his fold.
I had a bet with 2 Manure fans last season that Manure won't win the league.
Let's be frank,Rooney carried Manure on his back for all of last season, that's why they could compete
Losing Rooney in this day and age with frugal spending all over the place will HURT Manure.
When the tabloids started on this, i thought it was a joke. . . . .
But now we know better, shocking stuff happenning in football these days. shocked shocked
What next?
If we have not been shipping in goals at the back, we'll probably be leading the table by now

assume we beat Everton and West Brom, we'll be ahead of u by 4 or 3 points and a point adrift of Chelsea

and yet, Rooney hasnt contributed jack to all that

mark my words, UTD would continue to grow stronger and Rooney would probably struggle whereever he goes

and dont u believe UTD cannot spend if they wanna spend. All you read in the papers about frugal spending is just the Managers doing

Spurs spent money! are u saying they are richer than UTD?

wait till Rooney leaves and see how SAF would rush to the market and i can bet he'll break the bank to get marque players

Wait a minute, let us be objective here, look at those who are against him, all Nigerians professionals, there is something fishy. He might have hyped up some of his achievements, so what? A lizard who falls from high Iroko tree, if nobody,  praises him, he will take that responsibility upon itself.
To come on this platform to dismiss this man as a total fraud is absolutely ludicrous. This man goes from one symposium to another, all over the world, he's highly paid to deliver speeches. Are they also saying that this bodies don't verify his credentials?
This is the problem with Nigerians, the energy they used here in unveiling trash about their fellow countryman is enough to build a Boeing 787 plane.
If nothing is been heard about those enumerated above, what is our business? are we going to sing their praises for them? Nobody knew Phillip until he showed himself to the world. Let American body of scientist prove otherwise, until then, Phillip is still a hero in his own right.

people are asking about the lies and other things he added to himself

Are you saying that did not affect the club at all? come on man, they lost the PL crown to you lot and had to make do with the mickey mouse cup. Losing Rooney is massive, they're losing a world class player in his prime man and they had sort of built the team kind of round him. If losing only Xabi Alonso affected pool that much, what do you think this will do to Manure? particularly with their smaller neighbor's new found wealth.
bro, we lost the title to Chelsea by a point on the last day

if we had won, we woulda won an unprecedented 4 titles in a row

it hasnt happened b4

so the loss of Ronaldo and Tevez didnt do jack and the loss of Rooney wouldnt do jack

Rooney is a world class player and a club of Man UTD stature can attract better players than Rooney - Torres

Jalether, the one thing I can assure you of is this, if you lot lose Rooney in January, then you are not finishing above us in the PL table, as things are right now, its even debatable if you can.
first thing
jalether is a Chelsea fan and his comment on Rooney's departure is spot on

As per your club doing well without Cesc; what does doing well connote?

how many games has Rooney played in for UTD this season? and if Rooneys contribution to our performance this season is almost zilch and yet we are scoring goals. what does that tell you?

Rooney departure either in January or November would not hinder UTD going forward and pls, we are not competing with you, we are competing with Chelsea. You shd be bothered about Spurs and not UTD cos definitely, without Rooney, we'll still finish the season ahead of you.

"Additionally, if Philip Emeagwali was criticized by whites for his claims of being a “father of the Internet,” that is not racism.  I am Igbo and I am criticizing him for his claims.  Does this make me a racist or someone who hates Philip Emeagwali?  No, absolutely not.  What it does make me is someone who has read the claims made by Philip Emeagwali, and was offended by his tendency to be disingenuous.  Persons, white or black, who are knowledgeable about how the Internet came into being would question Emeagwali’s claims and demand concrete proof of those claims.

As Africans, African-Americans, people of color, however we are characterized, we are, or have been, victims of racism.  To me, this is intolerable.  However, what I find even more heinous is when someone tries to gain our sympathy and support by crying “wolf.”  As the old Igbo song goes, nwa na ebe ọhụhọ ọhụhọ, onye ma mgbe eji egbu ya?"

from the way things are going, nigeria is becoming a facebook country generating funds for the owners of the site while our country goes down the drain.
if there is anything worth talking abt on facebook by our president, it has to be the fraudulent manners with which he gets to aso rock. our president went to abuja via the worst selection(election) in the history of man and as such represents nothing but fraud. he shld be working on his image and the societal criminals that sourround him in the name of aides and advisers.
