Please help out, I have completed administering antibiotics today.Now they are 7 days old, I was told to allow the chick rests 2 to 3 days before giving them gumboro vac.

My questions are:
1. Am I on course?
2. How do I give gumboro vac?
3 what time of the day should them and should I withdraw water before giving them?
4.What should I give them the following day after gumbro vac.

so many factors could be responsible for vaccine
failure, ranging from impure water,vaccine
source, method of administration, dose
administered and of course the environmental
factor
To guide against the water impurity, dissolve
considerable quantity of skimmed milk in the
water, this is to neutralize the likely ions or
contaminant in the water.
To guide against vaccine failure as a result of
source, do not patronize only one vet store, the
reason why vaccination is mostly done twice is
to make up for unvaccinated birds, so it
becomes important to patronize at least 2
quality vet shop such that if one of the vaccines
fail the other can make up for the failed one.
To guide against vaccine failure as a result of
administration, you need to know that the
vaccine in itself are living organisms that have
been conditioned to an inconvenience mode and
as such bad administration is like you are
inoculating the disease into the bird's system,
having known this there's the need to prepare a
good disinfectant incase of spillage,take about 5
mil of skimmed milk solution and release it all
into the vaccine bottle and shake to ensure that
the vaccine is well dissolved then take the
needed quantity according to your stock.
Dose to be administered is the number of birds
u v got, if u have 250 birds don't manage 200
doses it must be complete for effective
performance.
Good knowledge of the environment is vital in a
successfull vaccination,birds have a deep body
tempetature of 40.5-42c , coupled with the kind
of hot weather we have now, it becomes very
important to ensure that the water to be used is
chilled such that the temperature of the vaccine
is still maintained until it reaches the bird
system where it is expected to dissociate and
starts combating pathogens that would want to
cause that disease.
It should be mentioned as well that antibiotics
should not be used a day before vaccination so
as not to destroy the live organisms.

This statistics does not necessarily equate to government funds they are mostly individual funds even the average travelling allowance alone is about $1000 multiply that by the number of suppose travellers and see what u get .

Not a bad business for them, I just want to be able to control my cost so that I can compete in the broiler market. I will like to be able to hatch for myself, to own a small parent stock, and hatch enough to complement what I buy out there and eventually hatch all my DOC. I am already burning fuel lighting my farm for my DOCs for 3 weeks during the brooding time whiten which time I can be hatching a few hundred eggs for myself.

Dude! the price different in most cases is too much, look at from N180, to N100, I have seen somethings from N170 to N80. And it also goes the other way round. The difference is just too much. It is either they are loosing a lot of money when they make those changes and or making one heck of money all the time.

they make profit even at N80 and tend to maximize the profit once there's an increase in demand,

I think at some point as much as we can, we will have to invest in our own hatching. For me eventually, I want to be able to mill my own feeds, and hatch my own day olds. I am not talking about large scale, but enough to feed my market, even if I can hatch 1000 DOC every 3 weeks, that will help, I will know the well being of my birds, from eggs to processing. Pricing some of this incubators they are not that expensive, So, one can invest in Parent stock, say 200 birds and raise them to lay eggs for hatching. I am still trying to understand how the hatcheries out there fix their prices, you pay today at N120, and by the time you go there to pick up your birds they can tell you that the price in now N180, and you have to pay the difference and of course some time you get there to pick up and they tell you that the price has dropped to N100, so you use your change to buy more. No one has been able to explain to me the price changes.
So, for me, I think we should be looking at that route of hatching no matter how small to add to what you buy from the commercial hatcheries.

Just my two cents.

. The higher the demand, the higher the price and the lower the demand too, the lower the price too.

I saw this coming along time ago, whether its rumoured or not .even tinubu is scared where he is now , any more backlash by tinubu will definitely push him to the pdp, saraki's position is too critical for tinubu to let go, but it will be better he lives him alone , else apc looses the senate majority to the pdp.

my advice is not to discourage but to tell you never you try this danfo business if you are not the one to drive it. whoever told you they deliver 8k is your enemy and part of who are ready to make you regret your act.
the highest a danfo deliver is 6k depending on trips, if you are to get this be ready to spend more on the danfo for maintenance which am sure you will almost cry along the line,mind you , 2k is what most of them deliver . they will collide with mechanic and keep telling you clutch pad today ,carburettor tomorrow, lastman, vio,e.t.c will be excuse for not working in the day which will deprieve you of your expected amount. and before you know it, all you have been getting happy to safe on the danfo will be spend on these cooked up problems.
with these my analysis ,I beseech you to decide your next decision .
