nobleudeme: I just did further search on BU and I'm so pumped up. Can't wait to get started. The school is relatively new (Est. 1992 or so) with new buildings and infrastructure. The atmosphere and environment seems friendly and welcoming. We also have two Nigerian acting as the Student Union President and VP in SUBU team of 5. The town is majorly a service area with so many retail shops, cinema, hangout spot, the beach. Lansdowne where "my campus...lol" is located recently initiated a new project aimed at improving the area into a modern commercial business district by 2021...This will hopefully attract more firms as well as encourage startup businesses in Lansdowne Bournemouth in the nearest future. This means there will be creation of more jobs and this to me is good news. Did I also mention that I saw some really SWEET flat at 300 PCM. "Disclaimer I Neva travel o...I still dey Naija, na just information sourced from the internet ooo" lol isn’t it the BU I know you are overhyping like this? The school that is predominantly dominated by foreigners which the British citizens refuses to attend. Or isn’t the school that it campuses is scattered around Bournemouth as if it a tutorial Centre. Please choose wisely. A word is enough for the wise. |

mikeerrr: Kk nice time consoling
Typical Nigerian mentality The fact that you’re used to suffering in your country doesn’t mean you should continue suffering.
11 hours a day is actually unhealthy.
I’m a project manager and I work 9-5. Some times I work from home At times I’m travelling within the EU & representing the company. I get paid holidays and sick leave.
That’s the life someone should earn for & not console themselves that 11 hrs a day in a mental institute to survive is hardworking. It’s only different if it’s your area of studies and it’s something you are looking to go into full time all what you wrote is thrash! I can see you are arrogant and I won’t have time to mince words with you! Read what I said ! Doing menial jobs for 12hrs isn’t bad and actually it not a must to take the job or not! There are actually shifts of 6hours! |

mikeerrr: At times you guys talk off point.
No one was talking about not having a meaningful life or earning.
I was talking about people that come here to pursue PR without understanding how difficult it is.
Plus you can never compare the working system abroad to that of Nigeria.
But kk whatever my point with you is you saying one will has to work his ass off in making sustainable income in Uk |

I can actually see some folks are lazy and not ready to work! Aftermaths they will come over here to call UK any sort of names! Uk is a country that doesn’t give in to laziness or extravagant life. To succeed in Uk you need to be Well articulated and well disciplined. It so astonishing to see someone says that 11hrs time of working is a big thing for him! Note he doesn’t have to do anything! He only sits down and he is complaining that it a lot of hour! Some people are funny sha! Go to Nigeria and go and work in factories I swear you go know say khaki no be leathers! A typical factory workers in Nigeria works for 12 hrs and being paid 50k at most!
My brother working 11-12hrs for a menial job that doesn’t involve any physical strength isn’t bad to do! We call it menial Job and not professional! |

mikeerrr: You should have highlighted the work you’re into homie, so we can be clear. I was once a social worker and I did not have to do anything. Just sit and watch the elderly to ensure they don’t cause harm. Only time I did stuff was to prepare meals or take them for walks. I was at 11 hours a day earning £9 about. So let’s say £11 x4 days x9 pounds x 4 weeks. That’s about £1600 which is about £760k. I wasn’t paying tax only NI.
So you’re saying that 11 hours stretch ain’t enough to make your body “hear am”?
Okay bro, I see you.
Plus changing pounds to naira to show how much you earn it’s absurd. If your rent is £350 per month (if you’re living in cheap cities), that’s about £170k alone. Then utilities, council tax (if you’re not a student) , feeding , clothing or bills etc. yes i am a psychologist and hence I work in the mental health setting and me sitting down watching tv and making someone not to harm him or herself and caring out their care plan is not a work I have passion for it ! How does it affect my health? So you expect me to be sleeping 12hrs out of 24hrs a day? See in Nigeria I see bankers working for 12hrs and they are being paid peanut at the end of the day! My expenses in a month is not above 200k converted to Naira! So what do u have to say? Let appreciate the system! The system is not constructed to make one wealthy but to have a meaningful life! |

mikeerrr: No one said life in Nigeria is better & no one said the two years post study visa ain’t valuable.
We only said people should plan accurately.
No company can file PR for you, don’t mix things up. They can only sponsor your TIER 2, which will lead to ILR , then PR & Citizenship. Now most companies only file 3 years for you , which is not enough for the ILR requirement (5 yrs). So you still have to hope for them to renew your Tier 2 by working hard & showing them that you’re an asset.
British citizenship is not an easy task. If you can tell me any student in the U.K. that has gotten citizenship the way you just “proclaimed”. I will send you £50 straight now! Then PR £25 quid. Just one person o, not 2.
People from Caribbean & other countries that came to the U.K. since 90’s are still battling to get PR even not passport, & you a student will come and get it JLT.
Let’s be realistic please. Getting PR in the U.K. takes ages, like yeaaaaaars & you have to be 100% genuine. In the case of that you have not defaulted any immigration rule. It’s like trying not to break raw egg.
How many international students even stick to the 20 hours a week rule?
Yes you can get back your money from menial jobs but your body go hear am las las. At the end those menial jobs may not even help you to pursue a career in your area of studies.
I’m not discouraging anyone but I think it’s only right to be realistic with people, so they can also brace for the worst. U.K. is just only easy to get to because they’re after your money & nothing more. They cannot stop international students from coming because they’re the ones supporting the system with fees etc Highlighted is false! And not actually true! I work 4 times in a week and make close to N800k a month without doing any strenuous thing at work! The only tiring thing is that I do basically nothing but just sitting down. I will actually say I am being paid for time spent at work and not for any stressful work done! |

Geesucc: Tobexin Pls sir, can u give us some names of those schools
The formula my mentor told me is this
1. Look for schools with high standards in remote part of England which cost of living is very low
2. Look for available booming student jobs in the area and apply
3. Save up money because The cost of living will be very low and you will have enough after paying your bills
4. 3 months to graduation send your CVs to the big companies in the big Cities
5. If employed, pack your load and leave the common don’t be lazy! Make Goggle your friend! |
