It's such an early bad news about the rejection, However you guys should understand that McGill is quite competitive. A rejection letter now means that the person's grades are not up to the top average in which ever program the person is applying to. It is usually rare for somebody to get admitted upon re-appealing. Also, anybody re-appealing (from March 1) have slim chances of getting MCF because during that period, the awardee had already chosen. I'd advise anybody who has been rejected to put in more energy in other options. Chris is really in exam hall as I am writing to you guys now but am sure he'll be fine and have free moments after to answer all your questions I really wish you all good luck. |

Hello, how are you guys doing? I really like the way you guys are co-operating and helping one another. it is perfectly normal and necessary. studies and assignments have really tripled for most of us here so you may not always see us around. Please bear with us. Remember don't always over rush! (most schools start given admission by December and MCF award come around next year March or so),proof read all your forms to avoid necessary mistakes , take your time, relax and highlight in your application those things that make you an outstanding potential. Happy week-end. |

If you did your High school in Nigeria, you do not need TOEFl either as English is both the Official and Educational language. (Exception: If you studied in Islamic/Arabic high school). |

emmanuelasante9: I have my original WAEC Certificate and I don't want to send them the official Certificate so can I ask my previous High School make a copy of it and stamps it for it to become official?
Thanks for the reply. If you are referring to UBC, you do not need to mail your hard copy certificate. They accept scanned documents. |

emmanuelasante9: Bro please I want to ask that the WASSCE results slip that you will attach to your transcript when submitting your documents, is the school you completed that will have to stamp it or you have to request for attested copy of your results slip straight from WAEC?
Thank you I want to believe any of the two can serve. personally, I advice you use original WAEC result or an attested copy form waec. |

ekoson95: Thanks bro.
One more thing, when participating in such community service, certificates are not usually issued. So if I indicate such community service in my application, how do they verify the authenticity of such claim? They usually ask for address and phone number of the organisations you filled in. Though they don't usually have time to call each and everyone of these organisations but you never can tell. You wouldn't want your wonderful application to get disqualified because filled in details that are not authentic. |

ekoson95: Hello guys, am new to this thread, but not totally new to the MasterCard Foundation Scholarship. I've been following it since 2013 but couldn't apply due to some reasons.
Pls I have some questions regarding this community service, leadershit, engagement stuff etc. What kind of community service are they talking about?
Am applying to McGill, for those who applied there too, how did you fill that section?
Thank you. Community service refers to those ways you could have rendered a selfless (volunteer) service to your community/humanity. It might be in the church, secondary/primary school, Agricultural development agency, governmental or Non-governmental organisations. if you have participated in a number of them emphasize on the one that will highlight your leadership potentials, the one that will make you outstanding and the one that is relatively related to your future career aspirations. If you have never participated in any form of community/humanity services, I advise you engage in one as quick as you can and then highlight that in your application in order to boost your application chances. |

seyipeters: Hello all. Thanks to those that have been contributing to this forum (chris and co). I stumbled on some infos as regarding MSU requirements (Toefl,Ielts and SAT). If ur first language is English, then you don't need Toefl or Ielts and We are encouraged to get SaT scores but it's not required. Pls read-Submit official high school transcripts if you have completed fewer than 28 semester credit hours. Provide proof of English proficiency (sent directly from the testing agency) if your first language is not English (TOEFL, IELTS, SAT, MSUELT, or MELAB accepted). MSU's TOEFL and SAT code is 1465. International students are encouraged, though not required, to submit SAT scores. Do not send letters of recommendation, photographs, portfolios, or additional personal essays. Doing so will delay processing of your application.
But I don't understand the 'Do not send letters of recommendation'.How are we to submit d recommendation form then? https://admissions.msu.edu/admission/international_requirements.asp Helo,If my memory still serves me right, I remember writing to MSU about this and they said it explicitly that SAT is required. All American schools require SAT as a basis for their admission. |

TheBae: There are little luggage scales. Ask any frequent traveller around you for one. Trust me you don't want to be looking for what to take out of your box at the airport if it's overweight. If the limit is 23kg, you can leave it at about 24kg some people even get away with 25kg Thank you. Its just that there few frequent travellers around where I stay. Incase I do not see one then i'll use the weight scale.@lol chris incase I have excess luggage i'll transfer some into your bag! |
