"PAINING" is a correct word. Use your dictionary.
wow! I just confirmed 'paining' is also used. It sounds strange though. "ache" or "hurt" is conventionally used.
EducationRe: 10 Common Grammatical Blunders You Should Endeavour To Avoid by toboy: 7:03pm On Aug 04, 2016
lol Thank you for these corrections. English is not our mother tongue so I'd advise that before you make correction, you should do adequate research. for No 1 and 2,"who is that" and "yes"/"no" answers are all grammatically correct and well spoken. I have noticed the native speakers avoid using "it" to refer to people as it usually used to refer to inanimate objects and babies in general.
Your correction on Wednesday is valid, It's just that the 'S' actually pronounces as "Z".
Your correction on No 9 and 10 are valid in fast speech. In slow speech, the 'u', 'a' and 'o' is not entirely silent.

Nawoo!! cheesy tongue Maybe they're charging him in terms of 'charter'. It's better to come with cash. There are thousands of taxi at the airport and they have their machine that calculate the price as they drive you. All you need is give them your address. I am not conversant with Vancouver. but from Montréal Trudeau Airport to like Downtown is like $50 max.

How does that works bro?
A relation who is currently in Canada needs to book the flight for you from here in Canada then forward you the tickets. Then you can pay the relation back. Also I feel like some Nigerian travel agencies do this but am not sure I need to ask a friend who recently traveled. Flight to Nigeria should not be more than 500k max no matter what.

I am not sure. I think due to the current Naira Issues, people now book their tickets through Canadian travel agencies here in Canada and then forward the tickets to the person in Nigeria.

The people that beat him to death should have completed their project by burying him. Wickedness is when you kill you fellow country's men for petty crime while your politicians and overzealous capitalistic sucking machines, the chief cause of your problems, are just there milking you dry while you do nothing!

Friends in general are in a way closer at heart to u than ur brodas because we don't choose family bt we choose friends.. U may not really knw d feelin bt i assure u it's not a bittersweet one @all @all
Eyaa! I like the way responded calmly! you seem like a good person. I won't deny the fact that I've had amazing friends in my life. Sorry about what happened. I have been before. In the past, my close friend traveled to France for masters without telling me. I got to know he was in France via whatsapp. As a free spirit I am, I was just so happy for him. I din't even get angry cuz one thing with me is that I feel this inexplicable happiness whenever good things happen to my friends. The only thing that got me angry is that he came back and did not border to buy even a pair of socks for me. Meanwhile indirectly, he has been telling me about the expensive outfits and enjoyment galour in Paris. Look what I am insinuating: First, It is either your paddy got carried away with Effizy in Oyibo land and now feels like friends back home are of no use anymore. So many things can cause this ranging from family background gbo gbo ti gbo! Some people swear that they'd no longer return home when they graduate. Second, he is having hard times with studies in school and it is weighing your paddy down. Trust me, The system can be quite rigorous. I have seen students who come from the US, France and Canada as well struggle with getting pass grades in classes. Now imaging this with somebody coming from a relatively lower standard of education. From the way you spoke, I feel like you still have concerns for your paddy. Please try and establish contact from your own side. let the old fire re-ignite. Personally, I am not like that. I call friends and family back home very often cuz I feel refreshed and renewed whenever I speak with them, of course in my mother tongue. But I am not a judgmental person, I am not eager to condemn others for not doing so cuz you don't know their story or things that might they have done or happened to them. People get affected differently by different cadre of circumstances.

WellEndowed:
Don't blame him. Many years ago, a friend of mine was leaving for the US after high school for Uni. Her father organized a farewell dinner and invited people. People went for the party, ate and drank and went home. Just after midnight, this friend of mine started c/o severe headache. Like Joke like joke she was dead before 1230am. About 20 minutes after she complained of headache. No one knew when the rest of her siblings left the country. The family kept it a secret.

I also know another guy who happened to be my a friend of a family friend. He was supposed to leave for the US and called his friends together on his last day in Nigeria to eat and drink with him. He never made it out of Nigeria as he died the following day.

Just a few months ago, January to be precise, I visited home. My mother's friend ran into my parents house crying...ki lo de? her son visited from Canada, prepared to return the next day and took his friends out. The guy died that same day later in the day after complaining of stomach pain.

Another guy was kidnapped and killed by his friend in Benin. I saw that one in the news.

I could go on and on and on and on.

They could have died of anything...but don't blame people for being careful. My closest friend left for Germany after high school without telling me...honestly, I understood then and wasn't upset
Thank you so much for sharing this. People do not usually understand these things unless they be in the same situation. When I was leaving, only my Mum and just one of my elder Brother knew. I didnt tell my other siblings untill like few days before I left cuz I know they are just not naturally good at keeping secrets. They can be so quick to announce anything in the church. None of my close friends knew. I called them few minutes before boarding the plane, explaining reasons why I couldnt tell, they were just so happy for me, they wished me the best of luck, you know good hearted friends. I keep in touch with them via Facebook and WhatsApp. One or two people really got pissed off that I didn't tell them. I confirmed that day that those are the bad friends.

Seriously I get ur point bt 4d fact Dat my so called paddy didn't even boda to giv me a call wen he got there or chat me up on any social media platform speaks alot abt d kind of person he is. I can't even remember d last time we spoke because it clearly shows that not only 'hoes' bt niggas ain't loyal wen dey seem to taste success..
Stop seeing things from one side. Have you asked after your paddy from families to even confirm if everthing is really alright. It's not always rosy abroad. Somepeople might take several years before they settle down.He might even be running around trying to settle down. It such a fast and conplex moving world here, something people back home do not understand unless they be in the same situation. Sometimes I wish I could just send some people over here to experience these things themselves. As a good friend, you should try and establish contact. As someone who care, you yourself should ask after your paddy if it's going on well. Don't be quick to judge until you hear the story.

wristbangle:
Some Nigerians, when they return from abroad often display some nasty and childish habits when they return home, and these silly and childish attitudes are enlisted below;

1. Unnecessary use of foreign accent to intimidate local people

When some Nigerians living abroad return home, they begin to use these foreign accents to create unwanted scenes. They do this to show people that they are not of the same class. A times when you tell them, you can't understand their statement, they will say "Are u deaf"? The ones that annoy me most are those based in cotonou, Ghana, Uganda, china forming British accent. Honestly these ones need serious psychiatric evaluation.

2. High level of Pride

Living abroad is not a guarantee that one will be richer than Dangote or Mike Adenuga so why the overbloated ego? Some will even make it look like they're doing you a favour talking to you. This is common with the ladies.

3. Unnecessary show off

I know of some Nigerians who have lived their whole life abroad and are still able to be casual. But for some, they will wear socks and jacket under the intense sun and will be screaming to people's hearing that they regret coming to Nigeria.

4. They condemn our local dish

When a friend of mine returned from Canada, he told me to take him to a restaurant because he went hungry and I was elated he still has passion for our local dish. I took him to one fascinating local restaurant at Ibadan. When they served us pounded yam/egusi soup complimented with all sorts of assorted bush meats. Instead of eating the meal, he walked out from the restaurant telling me he couldn't eat that shiiit . Honestly, I was embarrassed by his comment.

5. They demand for undue Respect

Some of them are so proud that they will give you this proud look because they feel you want to beg pounds or dollars from them. I really don't blame them, after all it is what they experience often when they visit home as friends, family and even enemies want to benefit from their pocket.

6. Hotel becomes their home

I know most of them prefer lodging in a hotel because they are scared of mosquito bite, non availability of light and other negative factors in their parents' house. Though I wouldn't call this a silly act but I feel staying in your parents' house especially when located in the village will attract more parental blessing.

7. They neglect their old friends

This is common to some abroad based Nigerians. They tend to ignore the friends they left in Nigeria because they feel they have climbed the ladder of greatness. Last year, a very good friend of mine arrived from the UK and what surprised me most was that he refused to come to my house after a week of arrival. I used my church mind to go to his place and he started acting like I came to beg for money. This silly attitude of common with some of them.

8. They condemn our culture and values

It's a pity that some Nigerians are so engrossed with the westerner culture that they view African culture as being fetish and archaic when they returned home. For them to prostrate for elders and even their parents is like displaying stupidity act. This is nothing but outright nonsense.
One question for you OP Have you ever been abroad and stay for like two years then move back home? I used to be in your mentality. But then, I want you to stop wallowing yourself in such negative and mediocre mentality. Abroad changes people by fire by force. No matter how strong and Africanish you're, You must shed off some aspects and values in order to integrate into societies abroad otherwise people might take you for an untamed individual who has nothing to offer. The accent, If you don't change your accent people will not understand you properly. It is not faking. Don't ever think it's easy for them to be torn in a middle of two culture and constantly having to switch sides automatically. most of the other reasons you gave here are sheer insensitivity from your part. You would like to go and take a look at the novel 'Americanah" by Chimanda Adichie. It will give you a vivid picture of how complex life can be for an African immigrant who moves overseas.
RomanceRe: How Do You Turn A Lady Down Without Hurting Her by toboy: 5:44am On Apr 23, 2016
Hey poster, I am perfectly like you. I don't go into relationships with girls that I don't have feelings for, at the same time I hate hurting people's feelings! The best way is to give her a hint you are seeing (dating) somebody else whether you are or you not (It usually turns people's off)! Always reject any proposal of you hanging out together with her with another important appointment. You should not reply to her messages instantly, take like 10hr before you reply and when you reply tell her how busy you were. (she might get usurped along the line with the feeling that you're too busy and might not have time for romance after all). In any case, it must subtle and friendly done so that she doesn't get shamed. At a point she might find someone else or feel it's not gonna workout with you.

Hey! there you go! You are just being inferiorily complexed. Flavour lyrics makes alot of sense. Alot of contemporary Nigerian musics are Bomb-mixiing indegenous styles and western pattern to create a hybrid of powerful sound effects. Bieber might be more popular and successful of course he is based in Northern America. But it dosn't mean he is lyrically endowed or better musician than all Nigerian artists.
