thesmallgod: So if you own a house and recruit an house help, you want to tell me it is wrong for you to enter and check her room what are entering the househelp room for? A house help is an employee and has thier right even if they live in your house. Just as the same way househelp are not supposed to go into your private rooms without your permission, you don't have any right to enter thier room as it's thier own personal space unless they invite you in. If you go into your househelp room whenever you want, wouldn't it mean you're now sharing the room with them? This is actually the first step, then, after those househelp start getting raped cuz their no respect and boundaries. The only time you can enter a househelp room is if they are suspect for sth and this should be done with another adult in sight as a witness. |

Please hear me, for the fact God has giving u this opportunity to help a soul kindly respond to God by first of all, tell your wife about it by showing her the chats so that she will not suspect you.
Second, call the girl and expose what u saw, then take the number of her parent and let them know that there Daughter is pregnant.
She should tag any of the guy since they be making advantage her ignorant.
OP this is an issue between you and God not us.
As we talk, what ever happened to that unborn child may be upon you...
Listen to what is say, you will see more blessings but if u are unGodly then listen to those saying you should mind ur business.
I hope you screenshot everything or still have the Facebook account on.
Start now from telling you wife... Please if u don't have any evidence, and you are the type there wife suspect.. Abeg no rush tell her oo..
God bless you as you help the unborn. I have a question for you where was God in the first place before she got pregnant? Why are you calling God now? Tell her parents? Do you know if she is orphan? If she had good parenting, then they should have raised her in such she able get proper sex education? You people that keep attributing everything to God is major problem we have in Nigeria cuz you can't use your common sense to think again. |

OP, I think it is very unprofessional for you to look into her private messages. Nevertheless, I think you have a good heart for caring! I think it's a good gesture when managers look after thier emplyees and support them . However, this must strictly be in such a way that the you're not infringing or disrespectimg your employee's privacy esp giving she is an adult of her own.
The fact the sales is getting "unwanted pregnancies" and aborting means she is not properly protecting her self. She may also catch other disease that can impact her life heavily.
OP, I think what you can do is try to come a bit closer to your employees, invite her for a family dinner, get to know her background, make her comfortable and then assure her if she needs anything at all from you and your wife you are more happy to assist. You can continue to support her untill that TRUST is established in such a way she is able open up to in her own.
Remember to empathise and NOT judgemental. |

Kekereekun123: keep applying and pray for a miracle. Very unlikely they would consider you. For farm workers Nigeria is not on the list. Your best bet for caregiver is for a relative in canada to hire you. Phillipinos and Indians have colobi most of the jobs. There are many people with legal status without jobs too so it will be hard to consider others. Do you know if Nigerians who are already in Canada are eligible for the farm workers? Also, do you know how to get into the program? |

Only people who have corona related symptoms or emergency should be attended to in Hospital due to the stress on the medical services at the moment. Iwinosified: Make I chook mouth for this matter as I was one of those who was also considering this sending back thing. Just yesterday, here in a place somewhere in the south west of Naija, around mid day, a group of secondary school students stormed into my place of work. My work place is directly opposite the school. They were brought in by a teacher. One of them was bleeding from a hand injury. His white shirt uniform had turned red. Asked what happened, teacher said they were fighting. After staff members removed the band used to tie the injury, there were 3- 4 different deep cuts. All looking like screwdriver, knife or whatever it is they used. Told them to disperse as they had gathered like a beehive. Immediately, someone whispered to me to come in, that I should be careful the way I tell those gathered to leave as they were all cultists. Choi! to say I was shocked. Well, I just observed them while a nurse worked to address treatment. Was I more shocked? I couldn't believe the things I heard, saw, with some wearing black hats. Then it all made sense. These kids on the average would be no more than 14-15 years. And this is a good school by some standards. The value system we could still hold some claim to in our schools, is NO more. There's no point in sending anybody back. Let's break this school issue down for once!! What is the name of this school you are referring to in your story? So, all the school in entirety of Nigeria is now like that? There are no good schools any more in Nigeria? I am really shocked by this bias because alot of best performing students I have met during undergrad are those that attended top-notch schools in Nigeria. When I was in Nigeria, I know of school such as Edgewood College, University of Nigeria Secondary School, Loyola Jesuit College, Jephtah Comprehensive, and Mea Matter Elizabeth High School. Someone said said sports and music are not encouraged. For where? My brief experience at Jephtah and MacDonald Memorial High Schools, we had most sport facilities except for swimming pool. We had a choir with all the instruments we needed and great singers for joint praise and worships. What's is this self? |

Folafikemi: Been reading all these not-so good information someone wrote here judging from his experience. And sometimes I can't help but wonder why you think cos you experienced that, it should also be same with me and every other people.
I really need to know whether any of us were forced with this relocation decision and when you were coming did you not know that changes, pleasant and not-so pleasant will occur?
This aside., for my naija folks, how on earth will u ever compare a developed nation with naija in any way regardless of whatever status you had back in naija before relocation.? If it were that good for you back there why did u relocate to Canada if at all you must relocate having to spend such money, time and energy only for you to come over here to read some demoralising story from someone who has no idea of what it takes to live in naija... Oh!
I have only spent 1month here in Regina and for each passing day I have no regret whatsoever. Getting a job here is not automatic just like in every other climes. Why the thought of having to land and getting all ur desires automatically met. People who thinks like that are only greedy and also an ingrate.
At least here you have peks to lay claims in even if you never get jobs {for families with child{ren} you get child benefit, what you never had in naija} , lots of other different opportunities abounds here and there, just that people don't take the pain to read and get right information. Can you compare been jobless in naija with been jobless here where you can at least take up survival jobs and pay ur bills till u get back in ur feet.
I can state here without mincing words that this country has lots of potentials for you to attain your goals if only you can be patient and consistent. Don't be afraid to start from the beginning if you have to, after all that's the purpose of relocation. If you can by yourself sell ur houses, lands, vehicle and other material things to come over here, what took you years to achieve and fear no catch you to dispose them only for you to come here come read something online and u want to start having a rethinking, infact I pity you o..
Get your head thinking straight and put ur hope in God. Do the best you can and get that little job to start with and if it's the big one go all the way for it. Its ur life not anybodies and you should take responsibility for every cause of actions you take. Get advices but weigh your objectives before taking decision cos you get to live by whatever decisions you take.
And above all don't regret doing things, only learn from your mistake and move ahead. Whatever did not stop you from getting to Canada can never stop you from making it in this land.
I rest my case. Na your hand e dey o... Aunty! One month is just too early for you to understand certain things! Though my experience is different cuz I have lived here for 4 years as a university student I can literally identify with every single thing they're saying because I have seen people pass thru similar experience. Words like that are rare to come by so It's better you pay attention to them and pick lessons from it for you benefit. If heard those words 4years ago, I could have tried to do just one thing differently over these years. |

I will give it try, though. . Ah! Kilode this guy self . I admire your soft heart, but yo! You've got to be a go getter sometimes to get what you want. Why should you give a damn about what some Nairalanders think when your main goal should be to get a help YOU need. At times you need to be positively selfish just for once, Don't send any fucking useless body! put YOURSELF first. You've made a great step by identifying you need to establish yourself cuz of your age. Some people in Nigeria don't even realize this untill they are 40. And they become fool forever in thier life. |

fairfora: It all depends on how you describe or your criteria of being poor or being rich. Money and material things are not always yardsticks for riches or wealth as many may see it.
My grand father was a peasant farmer, who couldn't even recite ABC. But in his time, he lived uprightly. He didn't even have a car but from his farm proceeds, built a mansion which housed him and his 3 wives and children. He trained all his children well. Led a healthy life and departed at a very ripe age. Now to you or someone else, he was a poor man because he didn't have more than one house, no cars, no millions of naira in his accounts...but his children were well educated. We have such category of people in millions in Nigeria today who are happier and more fulfilled yet, they're not rich. [s]The main reason our society is this bad is because we don't fear God anymore[/s]. We don't follow the due process. We manipulate everything, including our age. Many want to get wealth or positions desperately. Only 20 percent (or even less) of our leaders are clean. They keep going abroad for treatment when they got the health illegally. Most of our politicians including Tinubu, buhari, Obasanjo, etc falsified their age. You can imagine Buhari's younger sister being older than him . Obasanjo is older than prof soyinka who used to call the former an egbon( meaning an elder bro) whilst in the secondary school yet, soyinka is in his early 80s whilst obj is claiming 79.
It wasn't me who said age falsification wasn't good but a trusted man of God whom you might now of mentioned. He wuited the scriptures to back his claims. If you falsify your age, it doesn't mean you wouldn't be rich or successful but there's every grave consequences behind it. God who created you knows the plan of your life and when you should be at where. He can never make mistakes. you made superb points about happiness vs wealth untill you brought in God. You said is bad because we no longer fear God. I find this fallacious. Otherwise, explain when our society was ever good because we feared God?. Also, if you ever get to live in some other part of the world that are not religious, you find out the world does not really revolve around religion anylonger. People don't really need the fear of God before they can use thier head to understand Falsification is wrong. |

Then proceed and register that DOB on affidavit with national population commission once it's done birth certificate will be issued to you. But the implications is that you can't change the age again so I advice you start with 23 or 25. Goodluck you know well the implications of this and yet you encourage the OP to go ahead. I have no answer to this but one thing is for sure. Such falsification will haunt you all your life even when you get a job. You will be working in hiding which may affect your peace of mind unless you are sociopath. Also you risk beeing fired if your company dicovers it. I'll advise if you reduce your age like in a job application to get a job, tell the HR the truth once you start working and explain your situation. Age can be a good thing too depending on how you present it. Cuz with older age comes with maturity and valuable life experience. I don't know your past experience but you can highlight those in your CV and cover letter. It's about the value you bring to the company not necessarily the age. Mind you such falsification will be a problem if you ever want to travel out of Nigeria. |
