A group, Umuahia Youth Movement, has given Abia State Governor, Okezie Ikpeazu, 24 hours to dethrone His Royal Majesty, Israel Okwu Kanu, the paramount ruler of Isiama Afaraukwu in Umuahia, and father of leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu.

The youths on Sunday said failure to do so will force them to take the law into their own hands.


In a letter by Ifeanyi Okwudili, President; Kasarachi Ubani, Vice President and Anayo Ofor, Secretary, the youths said for failing to rein in his son, which led to their businesses being paralyzed, the royal father was not fit to continue in office.

The memo also copied President Muhammadu Buhari, the Inspector General of Police, the Department of State Service, Senate President, Speaker of the House of Representatives and South East Governors Forum.

It reads: “With tears and sorrow, the Umuahia Youth Movement respectfully write to request the dethronement of Nnamdi Kanu’s father as a traditional ruler of our clan.

“It beats our imagination that a man who calls himself a Royal father and an Elder could not call his son to order but rather encourage him in his madness that have plunged Umuahia city to a great crisis today.


“Sir, recall that Umuahia have been the most peaceful capital city in Nigeria to live and do business but just because of one man, we are today facing the wrath of the Federal government of Nigeria.

“Our shops, markets, schools, churches and all banks have been shut down. For the past three days we have been indoors for fear of been attacked by the military just because of one man whose father is our traditional ruler.

“Based on the above, we hereby request the he be dethroned within 24 hours or we will take the laws into our hands and dethrone him and even strip him unclad and raze his house.

“We appeal to every well meaning Nigerian as well to prevail on Governor Ikpeazu to as a matter of urgency dethrone Nnamdi Kanu’s father.


“We also request the Operation Python Dance should remain in all streets of Umuahia as any attempt to withdraw will make the IPOB criminals rob our shops and houses.

“Sir, we assure you that we remain one Nigeria and will join hands with you to make our country Nigeria and state Abia the best among all the countries of the world.

“Please accept the assurances of our esteemed regards.”

You want to create a "payment gateway" platform, which would include such things like "REST api" (in different languages) to connect ur gateway to client websites, u would want to have a deal with MasterCard n interswitch for your own debit cards (paga, have this right?), you must be ready for regular upgrades when management systems; such as Prestashop upgrade their systems. Amongst other things.

You can't call this an ecommerce site.

My point, your developer will fail, if he doesn't have a good team. Esp if you had a short time frame for him.

You must aim for the long term.

Why can't Nigerians just write a product brief? Op, it's not enough to say a website like so and so.

I don't know the functionality of mypaga, I'm not into your stuff/industry. Just write a simple product brief document, a page or two, outlining the functionalities you want, then you can give a sample website like mypaga.

You won't get a good Web developer with the way you're currently going about it. Only a quack developer will agree to work on something he she doesn't fully understand.

You'd definitely need in-house developers, a UX team, a very good designer, that you'd be paying Salaries, maybe 2 very good developers for a start, that is after the app has been built by a bit more developers. Quality is very important in something like this.

I'm not a programmer, more of web design and developing, I Know firms that Charge over $5k For UX and design (Not Nigerian), but you know you're getting quality cause UX (user experience) will make or break any app.

Take this with a pinch of salt, I'd say budget at least $25k for good quality work, very good $50k, top quality, over $100k.

I don't even know any UX and design firm in Nigeria.

I think you should hear from pros, that is, product managers that have done something like this, if you send them a nice friendly mail, I'm sure youd get a reply from them on what is involved in a project like this, especially those that blog.

JavaScript in one month, you can know how to write a for loop, work with basic array methods, but that doesn't mean you know JavaScript. It would take time. To understand javascript's prototypal inheritance sef alone, then closure, hoisting, asynchrocity, regular expressions, efficient and fast algorithms, data structures... These things would take lots of practice. Especially considering how notorious JavaScript can be compared to other better designed programming languages

I am not trying to discourage you, but we have to many quack programmers in Nigeria already, it is not a one month thing and then you are qualified to handle front end projects. Practice, dedication, and overall love for programming.

nodejs wasnt designed to be in league with php, it was designed to close the gap php created by adding real time update functionality to communication between server and client.
nodejs is great, nice and engaging, but its still immature and doesnt scale up php nor solve problem php was designed to address.

Single Threaded but Highly Scalable - Node.js uses a single threaded model with event looping. Event mechanism helps the server to respond in a non-blocking way and makes the server highly scalable as opposed to traditional servers which create limited threads to handle requests. Node.js uses a single threaded program and the same program can provide service to a much larger number of requests than traditional servers like Apache HTTP Server.
