Danielotuya: Of cos yes! The African society gives a difference status to a male child than a female. Bt westernizatn has help a little to cushion d effect of dis belief. Bt truth be said,na person wen see pikin dey select. Tell a barren couple for 15yrs if they wld take a boy or gal child,if they will nt tel u anyone as long it's a childIt's not an African thing like you claim. It's a very old practise. Even the Jews do it. For instance, Jacob in the bible had more than twelve children, why are only the males counted and alotted lands. Are the females not his? Also, in Jesus' time too, only men are numbered. 'he fed four thousand men' when, the women could even be more. However, today's society is pushing for a balance. That desire, can't take off, our love for our family names to go on. Which, the females can't do for us. Personally, I love both sexes. They are wonderful. Like you said, it's only families who have been blessed with kids who do it. |

Not surprised. A couple of months ago, one senior NYSC official claimed, and was published in the media that, over 70% of Corpers do not know how to write a formal letter. Nevertheless, the introduction of privately owned schools system led, the public schools into this ugly situation. Before their emergence, the public schools were doing really well. |

No language is easiest. All are difficult. I've lived in both Hausa and Igbo lands for years. Yet can't speak these languages fluently. I think, one's level of interaction and giftedness is key to better understanding and usage. |
