Investment › Nigeria, The Only Country That Imports A Percentage Of Her Currency(naira) by tofolo(op): 10:05am On Nov 08, 2017 |
The Nigerian Security Printing and Minting Company Limited Plc is the Nigerian banknote printer and mint. It is located in both Abuja and Lagos and is majority-owned by the government of Nigeria. In addition to printing the banknotes and the postal orders of Nigeria, it has struck some of the coins of Nigeria. It also prints stamps. The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) is the sole issuer of legal tender money throughout the Federation. It controls the volume of money supply in the economy in order to ensure monetary and price stability. The Currency & Branch Operations Department of the CBN is in charge of currency management, through the procurement, distribution/supply, processing, reissue and disposal/disintegration of bank notes and coins. The privatization of the Mint by President Olusegun Obasanjo in February 2002 was controversial, and Managing Director Sambo Dasuki resigned in protest. In 2006, the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Charles Chukwuma Soludo, "regretted that Nigeria was the only country in the world that had a mint but still imported currency," and announced that privatization was on track.. In 2010, Chief Executive Mr. Emmanuel Ehidiamhen Okoyomon was described as "basking in the genteel applause that has characterized the turning around of the Mint. As of February 2015, "Naira notes and coins are printed/minted by the Nigerian Security Printing and Minting Plc (NSPM) Plc and other overseas printing/minting companies and issued by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN). Agriculture › Nigeria Spends N5.8b On Maize Importation-the Nation by tofolo(op): 9:53am On Nov 08, 2017 |
Between April and May this year, Nigeria spent N5.8 billion ($15.2million) on the importation of maize. This is the market value of the three vessels that berthed at Rivers and Lagos ports with 70,000 metric tonnes of maize. At current global market of maize that has reached $217 per metric ton, this translates to $15.2million. At the Rivers Port in Port Harcourt, it was gathered, Ocean Glory berthed with 20,000 tons, while Interpid Eagle and Interlink Utility were moored at Lagos Port Complex, Apapa to offload 22,000 tons and 35,000 tons respectively. It was learnt that manufacturing firms are consuming 60 per cent of the country’s total tonnage to produce corn flakes, malt drink, beer, flour, animal feeds, syrup and dextrose. Last year, the country imported 300,000 tons to support the country’s domestic production of 7.2million tonnes. The country, it was learnt, has embraced bio-fortified maize in order to make the cereal and other crops surplus in the country next year. The Federal Government has said it would collaborate with the International Crop Research Institute for the Semi-Arid Tropics (ICRISAT) and other research establishments to guarantee that citizens have access to bio-fortified foods. Maize price was twice what it was exactly one year ago in the country; according to consumer Price Index (CPI). Face Source: http://thenationonlineng.net/nigeria-spends-n5-8b-maize-importation/ |

well spoken.... MhizzAJ: God doesn't need our money
Tithing should be a personal thing...If it works for you then it's fine
I really don't think one should tithe out of compulsion
Many pastors have been trying to manipulate their congregation by quoting Malachi 3:10
God's protection has got nothing to do with money...everything boils down to his mercies
I don't even know why this tithe issue is such a big topic and why freeze keeps hitting on pastors |

Career › Re: Shock As 21,780 Kaduna Teachers Fail Primary Four Exams by tofolo(m): 1:57pm On Oct 11, 2017 |
The questions are on Facebook. The Governor s official page. oladayo63: El Rufai is saying the truth.
I was one of the corpers who invigilated that exam late last year. I was amazed at the low intelligence level of those teachers. Their exam was too cheap for a primary 4 pupil self.
Some couldn't complete their data form on the answer sheet. . Some found it difficult to write their names . Most times we had to reprimand and/or reshuffle some teachers (old enough to be our mothers and fathers) because they were cheating or lack decorum . Almost all of them wanted our help as they got stuck getting answers to extremely cheap questions. . One of the teachers challenged me for not dishing her expos when she asked. I didn't know we reside in the same area until we met weeks after the exam. Her challenge was on the lighter mode sha . My colleagues and I even spoke bad of their state government for giving "the builders of our future generation" such unbelievable and eye-sore competence test. Moji, Wande, and Bashirat shouldn't be surprised when they hear this news.
I didn't foresee a time like this. I would have kept one of their question papers for you guys to see. |
