The Air Component of Operation HADARIN DAJI has destroyed an armed bandits’ logistics store and neutralized no fewer than 30 bandits in air strikes conducted yesterday, 26 May 2020, in the Doumborou Forest area of Zamfara State. The operation was executed based on credible Human Intelligence (HUMINT) reports indicating that a thatched structure within the Forest was being used by the bandits to store their logistics items. Fortuitously, an Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) aircraft on patrol spotted some of the armed bandits on motorcycles who were tracked to the storehouse where they lodged some items. The Air Component therefore dispatched an attack helicopter to engage the location, scoring accurate hits resulting in the destruction of the store, which was seen engulfed in flames. The attack helicopter subsequently trailed the armed bandits who fled the location and mopped them up in follow-on attacks, neutralizing no fewer than 30 of them as later confirmed by HUMINT sources. The Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), commends the Air Component of Operation HADARIN DAJI for their professionalism and directs them to remain resolute in the conduct of air strikes whilst continuing to provide close air support for ongoing ground operations in order to eradicate all armed bandits; thus achieving the directives of the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) of restoring normalcy in the North West and North Central Zones of the Country. Furthermore, the Armed Forces of Nigeria sincerely appreciates the continued support and cooperation of all well-meaning Nigerians, as we keep up the tempo of our operations to defeat all enemies of our Great Nation. LTGEN: If my Memory serves me right a BM21 Grad was briefly captured near Auno in 2019. The NAF firebombed it the very next morning. This was the battlefield of Auno where the NAF earned its bones. On one side of the road were NA troops on the other side were BH. NAF took out the rats and proceeded to destroy some Bh Vehicles trying to escape one of those was the BM21 Grad Truck. those BHT were the ones that F**ked up they told villagers that they were coming to attack Auno.. NAF was prepared for them they did well |

Xbee007: I don't think they are still operational. When was the last we saw footage of a drone strike from NAF? the Drones not participating in Airstrike doesn't mean they aren't operational. Are you still saying the Super Pumas aren't operational. I'm sure it's only ISR they'll carryout for now because of the cost of Missiles. |

Faithful007: is this recent? I don't think those drones are still operational why do u think they aren't operational.. The CH-3A participated in the Search for DAPCHI girls 2017 and The CAS is always talking about the drone.. That 2017/2018 ten drone pilots were trained In-country to fly the CH-3A and Tsaigumi UAV |

Kabe2: We showed interest in MIG-29, that's what Toju200 told me, MIG-29 we didn't see.
We have not even since the complete 12 units of MI-35m we signed contract for?
When will those come in?
I don't see Nigeria buying a Russian ship, we have never bought a naval system from Russia.
When we are ready, the race will be between a Chinese or European ship. I didn't even specify the mig even news agencies stated they don't know which mig yet... Cos he just said "we are interested in the mig jets and Yak 130" and Russian artillery |

Don’t tell private contractors/organization neither the ministry of transportation can handle training of personnel or maintenance of the aircrafts. Eventually it would be transferred to the air force if your assumptions are right, just my own thoughts ! the Navy will operate The vessels and helicopters coming |

Kabe2: According to this Italian source, Nigeria is due to receive helicopters from Airbus. Not the A109.
Although they did not quote any sources themselves.
The Nigerian Navy would also be in talks with Airbus Helicopter for the supply of up to three AS565MBe to be used probably on the two Hamilton-class cutters sold by the United States in 2013.
https://www.aresdifesa.it/2020/05/23/la-marina-nigeriana-riceve-il-primo-aw139/ last year Nigeria navy pilots were training on the AS565MBe helicopters. The AW109 is under the deep blue project not the initial helicopters the Navy budgeted |
