SamuelAnyawu:
That Jet was the Major Impact. No member ISWAP died from a military bullet. The guys were marching close to the barracks before the jet showed up. I even heard their gun trucks we're shooting at the Jets.
actually most of them where killed by bullets.
What the Alpha jet did was to take out the Guntrucks which the pilot did successfully taking out three that where on the run.
Majority of the dead bodies weren't shredded na grin so obviously soilders did well if u ask me. But it's not right to start waiting to be attacked. This new set of ISWAP are daring and will return.

In continuation of air interdiction missions being conducted under the subsidiary Operation LONG REACH to unhinge the leadership of the Boko Haram Terrorists (BHTs) in the North East, the Air Task Force (ATF) of Operation LAFIYA DOLE has destroyed a BHTs’ Tactical Command Centre and neutralized some of their fighters at Yuwe in the Sambisa Forest area of Borno State.
The operation was executed on 17 June 2020 after series of Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) missions observed significant presence of BHTs in the settlement and also established that a prominent compound with solar panel-mounted rooftop and a large tree in the middle with a nearby flag-mounted sentry post was being used by the BHTs to coordinate their operations in the area.
Nigerian Air Force (NAF) fighter jets dispatched by the ATF to take out the Command Centre took turns in attacking the location scoring accurate hits, leading to the destruction of the Centre and surrounding structures as well as the neutralization of several fighters.
The Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar, commends the ATF for their dedication and professionalism. The Defence Headquarters equally urge them to intensify the air offensive against the terrorists and all other criminal elements in the country

The Air Task Force (ATF) of Operation LAFIYA DOLE has destroyed a compound housing some High Value Boko Haram Terrorist (BHT) leaders and neutralized some of their fighters at Garin Maloma on the fringes of the Sambisa Forest in Borno State. This was achieved through massive air strikes executed to mark the launch of Operation LONG REACH, a new subsidiary operation in the theatre, which commenced on 16 June 2020.
The attack at Garin Maloma, a major node in the BHT’s line of communication in the Sambisa Forest axis, was undertaken based on credible intelligence reports as well as days of surveillance missions indicating that the terrorists had begun using one of the compounds in the settlement for accommodation and training of their fighters.
Accordingly, the ATF dispatched an Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) aircraft and fighter jets to attack the location. Overhead the target area, many BHT fighters were observed in the vicinity of settlement, with a few around the solar panel-mounted, High Value Target (HVT) location. The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) fighter jets engaged the location in successive waves of attacks leading to significant damage to numerous structures as well as killing of several terrorists. Some terrorists, who survived the first few waves and converged around the rubble near the damaged HVT compound, were taken out in subsequent follow-on attacks.
The Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar, who was in Maiduguri to flag-off Operation LONG REACH commends the Air Task Force, directing them to intensify the air offensive against the terrorists and all other enemies of our Great Nation.

The attack was a very planned one. It failed miserably thanks to our able airmen.

How do you think we can solve this porous border issue?
from what I see the equipment pass through the lake Chad region/area through Chad, Niger or Mali
First it's up to our neighbors to be on the look out cos the equipment won't just teleport into Nigeria
French military are in these countries I mentioned they have Reaper drones,mirage2000 and Rafael jets that's supposed to help Alot in this war sef
But to be sincere I haven't seen Their effectiveness at all.
We first make sure we pound the hell out of terrorist in LC then mount heavy border security ( NIS, Custom,NA) Then Drones with High loitering hours will be on ISR like Twice daily

How are the borders part of this insurgency issue. Is it that most of these weapons are crossing our borders into the hands of these terrorists? I need your input on this bro cool
Weapons Cross in from Libya to ISWAP in Nigeria.
An evidence was a Suicide vehicle bomb In 2018 that was seen in Libya Months later Captured by the military in Nigeria the Exact same vehicle

The Islamic State claims to have killed 90 fighters of “a militia” affiliated with the Nigerian army near Borno

Wow (not good)... potentially huge shift in targeting. If ISWAP now considers villagers "allied" w army as targets & justifies massacring them, it could mean victimizing large #'s of civilians, unlike ISWAP b4 (but akin to Shekau). Will moderate factions emerge? Will this b 1off?
which militia is that again na.
I heard there's was another gun duel Seven hours ago.thats around 11pm last night.

Residents of Monguno town could not hide their joy after military repelled an attempt by Boko Haram insurgents to wrecked havoc on the town on Saturday, sources said. According to a reliable source, residents came out to show appreciation after troops successfully repelled the attack.

“Everyone is happy now, there is celebration everywhere; the troops has done brilliantly today. There is relief now. “There was panick few hours ago but now we are fine and safe. The streets are filled with people celebrating the victory of the military over evil people,” a staff with an International Non-Governmental Organisation, INGO disclosed.

A security source also confirmed the development that the attack has been brought under control with the help of air bombardment.

The source noted that troops had successfully repelled the insurgents but mop up operations is currently ongoing. “Like I said, everything is under normal control, no cause for alarms. They made efforts as usual but it was repelled. Right now, mop up operation is ongoing to assess the casualties figure,”security source said. Daily Trust had earlier reported that persons suspected to be Boko Haram insurgents attacked two local government areas of Borno State.

It was learnt that, the insurgents stormed Monguno town exactly 11:30, shooting sporadically in attempt to overrun the town. A staff of an INGO had told Daily Trust that there was deafening sounds of gunshots everywhere.

“As I am speaking with you, Monguno is under attack by Boko Haram, there are loud blast ongoing now, the troops are trying to repel it. We are not safe, please pray for us.” Similarly, the insurgents had attacked a remote village of Usmanati Goni, Nganzai LGA early hour of Saturday.

According to a local hunter source, the attackers came at 10:00am, raining bullets on the civilians. Casualties figure can not be ascertained at the time of filing the report.

It would be recalled that fortnight ago, insurgents attacked Gubio LGA where 81 civilians and hundreds livestock were killed and 6 persons, including the village head were abducted.
