I was listening to General Adeniyi report, he said there were three Battalions at that point.
That they had been out flanked by 8-10 gun trucks, that over 100 RPG's and Dame number of mortars had been shot at them.
Three Battalions should equate to at least 1500 soldiers, There were three General at the front of the battle with three MRAP'S leading the assault or hiding in defence.
How can 10 gun trucks hold 1500 men into a static position. The effective range of an RPG is about 300 metres at best. Anything over that and it's wildly inaccurate ( off target)
All the three MRAP's will have HMG didn't see. optics so it will be steel sights. So trying to hit a small target first shot at 400 metres will not be easy. But hitting a gun truck in at 500/600 metres even with steel sights, considering the higher elevation of the MRAP's should be plausible particularly if they keep breaking cover all around you.
Then foot soldiers dug into the ground should be able to engage. Yes those AK's don't have optics but they should still be able to hit the guys shooting the RPG's anytime they break cover to shoot. In addition we should have out own RPG'S to respond with.
I would expect that within these three Battalions there should be at least 10 snipers not neccesarily with high calibre rounds.
So how did they get so overwhelmed.
It's not making sense to me. Something is very wrong and it's not just the lack of equipment. It's very puzzling.
Compared to us Chad have literally a rag-tag army. They are using BMP1, they have no body armour. Don't have any MRAP's lots of gun trucks but nothing specail.
What's going on❓❓❓❓
Here's the general's complaint Wrong Info That was his major concern they where given a wrong tactics to follow and the enemy was able to Surround and pounce on them.. And that unit from what I saw where relentless How would you tell me they fired at you 100 RPG and Mortals and the general said they are still standing strong and are not running.. And according to him The airforce arrived and I believed they did cos the declassified footage of the providing CAS is on their twitter handle..
SamuelAnyawu: Nigeria gave them that opportunity. Do you know that here in Northern Borno we feel relaxed seeing Chadians in our environment that Nigeria soldiers?
When Chadians left Borno last year, Most NGOs started planning on evacuation.
Our top military men have killed the morale of the boys in the trench....
Lemme give you a little scenario I witnessed on Monguno- Maiduguri road last year.
We met a Nigeria military convoy from Maiduguri-Monguno. Then the Military got to a deadly place called "Ali Gambari" where ISWAP once ambushed some soldiers that was all over the internet. The Military sighted movement and started firing heavily into the Bushes for 30minutes. I almost got deaf that day because of the AA Firepower.
The Chadians were coming from Nganzai and met the scenario, lots of civilian cars parked at the road just listening to gun music. Even some passengers were saying the Military will not allow us to pass so that them fit use some of us as shield
The Chadian commander discussed with the Nigerian commander leading the convoy. What happened next?
The Chadian Commander ordered his convoy to drive into the bushes. Baba na so the whole civilians in public vehicles begin praise the Chadians, I did not praise them just to look patroitic after all I attended a Military secondary school.
The Chadian soldiers were so happy driving into the bush to look for any ISWAP bastards. If you see the joy and morale on the Chadian soldiers faces. The last soldier even screamed in a scrappy English " Let's Go, Let's Go" there is an Arab word they love using "Allah Ya tsere" That day I respected the Land cruiser cars over Hilux.
Later bro its 10am. Let me start my Monguno-Maiduguri trip. Easter is here
ok safe journey but the chadians pulled a Daredevil stunt that almost cost them their life and u know that
SamuelAnyawu: Give the Chadians their respect. The only language we know here in Northern Borno is Chadians and Nigeria soldiers. I have never seen a Cameroon or Nigerian soldier in my life here.
We don't know anything like MNJTF.
Baba u have met lots of Chadian soldiers here, let me not say things that will make me look unpatriotic
I wanna host you in Monguno so you can see things for yourself. All transport bills on me.
When you spend some time here, you will know the TRUTH
But this current operation media too over hype them..

me nor dey doubt u o.. The chadians are doing excellently well.. I love what they do..
Yesterdays operation... Nobody will talk about this one na... Only Chad own Dem dey see This is wat I call joint operation.. The Real MNJTF does everything together From what I'm seeing now it's only Niger and Nigeria that carries out most of the Airstrike.. This is the fourth time I'm seeing this
The Nigerien and Cameroonian forces have joined Nigerian troops to route Boko Haram terrorists as part of the renewed offensive by the Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF) to ride them from the Lake Chad Island hideouts in the North East Nigeria.
This was disclosed in a statement on Monday by the Chief Military Public Information of MNJTF, Col. Timothy Antigha, stating that the combined troops killed more 19 terrorists, days after the Chadian forces inflicted heavy casualties on the insurgents.
As part of the ongoing counterinsurgency operations of the MNJTF under the reviewed Concept of Operation of Operation Yancin Tafki, Antigha said, combined forces from Sector 3 (Nigeria) and Sector 4 (Niger Republic), supported by Air Task Force (Nigeria) and Niger Republic Air Force conducted extensive bombardment of Boko Haram enclaves in the Tumbums earlier today, 6 April, 2020.
He said that Monday’s engagement was a coordinated air and ground operation.
“After intensive fire fight, 19 Boko Haram terrorists were neutralised, while others fled. The combined force with the support of the Air Force destroyed two Gun Trucks and captured two more. Four motor cycles as well as arms and ammunition were also recovered,” he stated.
He said that the troops of the MNJTF did not sustain any casualty, adding that the effort is expected to further degrade and deplete Boko Haram, thereby consolidating on the successes of previous synchronized operations conducted within the MNJTF area of operation.
In the same vein, MNJTF Spokesperson said that the Sector 1 (Cameroon) has also conducted clearance operations in the southern parts of Lake Chad Basin in order to destroy fleeing Boko Haram Terrorists who are now being confronted in all axis. Earlier last week, Sector 2 (Chad) also conducted an amphibious operation and secured the Litri / Madayi axis.
He recalled that the mandate of the MNJTF allows troops of the Task Force to conduct operations within 25 kilometres of delineated area of operation in Troop Contributing Countries.
To this end, Antigha assured that the MNJTF, with the support of national forces will continue to pursue Boko Haram Terrorists until they flee from the Lake Chad Basin or face justice.
He further assured the populations of the Lake Chad Basin that every effort is being made to restore security and normalcy
pacretus: I think it's about trust, they don't trust our intelligence gathering. I mean who would trust a nation that can barely secure her bases. Then don see us finish patapata
the only bases that got attacked easily was FOBs which was an almost impossible strategy to use... You know was always happens when BHT tries to attack bases in Damaturu... It's suicide for them...
firstly if he had obeyed the sit at home law he won't have met his death this is the second time he was almost killed by a soilder right on the same spot where he died eventually He went out with a friend in a vehicle without plate number the soilder told him to stop he rudely did and was already turning back when someone told the soilders that they where robbers Then they fired at the vehicle they chased him to another area where the killed him on *The same spot where he almost got himself killed by a soilder*
BabaOwen: Boko-Haram War: Nigerian Army Suspends Voluntary Retirement Of Soldiers. Meaning, You Can No Longer Resign From The Nigerian Army.
▪️In an internal memo, the Nigerian Army has suspended approvals for voluntary retirement requests from soldiers, saying the rate at which applications to quit service was flooding its headquarters lately was “disheartening”.
The directive, which military sources told PREMIUM TIMES went out late March, said all forms 9B (military retirement application document) have been suspended and would no longer be made available to soldiers willing to voluntarily discharge from service.
Whyem15: How many of you remembered the geospatial intelligence data centre NAF commisioned last year? Is it that the people working there are using the resources to upload post on facebook or what? Why did Chad have to involve Israel in mapping out the lake chad region before they could attack when Nigeria has the facilities too. Or was it just propaganda and we don't have anything?
The center is operational from here in collaboration with ISR NAF decides on target to strike... The truth is CHAD and Nigeria will never cooperate. The fault is on their side. It was a joint ops between MNJTF why should Israel do it... During the whole operation ISR, Close air support and Air interdiction ( before ground offensive) was done by NAF. Aerial command(Fire control) Airlifts of logistics with helicopters was done by NAF
Now I'm not trying to hype the Nigeria military we bleeped up big time And the chadians did very well But all credits don't go to them but MNJTF.. Major of the operation was not done in Nigeria territory
bidexiii: Boko haram terrorist releasing images from past fight claiming its recent, shows how desperate they can go in there propaganda lies. A Styer APC that was destroyed, is what some people call or presume to be MBT.
that MBRL In the last pics was destroyed in an Airstrike that day...
lebuhsi: But bidexii, who do you know it's not recent?...remember those armored vehicle Lt gen. Buratai commissioned few days ago?...pic 2 looks like one, I'm just saying though?
yeah I know those vehicles. These are past pics I swr..
From @DefenceInfoNG: The Nigerian Military’s Air Task Force (Op Lafiya Dole) attacking ISWAP Bases around Lake Chad on Friday April 3, closely supported by the MNJTF (which is the regional military force comprising Nigeria, Niger, Chad, Cameroon, Benin). pic.twitter.com/ZkRwgLO3bh
There is a lot of reasons for not expecting a 100% commitment from the Nigerian army. One of it is also because of the clueless president, that is busy given amnesty to terrorist.
A foolish terrorist that is fighting and has killed people for senseless reasons. Fighting and killing people because of an Arabian god.
that has brought down the morale of troops.... FG nor dey try at all.
Whyem15: If they are ordered to fight, I'm sure they will.
this whole operation was a MNJTF ops but mostly Chad... Mapping was unexpectedly done by Israeli Airforce Airlift of logistics was done by Chad and Nigeria Aerial command post-Nigeria Artillery and Airstrikes Nigeria and chadian helicopters... Ground offensive Chad....
Salatavor: they trained in Mali? But your special forces train in Russia, India, Israel, Pakistan and Britain. How come we are losing to those who trained in Mali?
They can't defeat our special forces..you know that the year most of our special forces where deployed was in 2017 a whole battlion of them BHT saw raw defeat back then. Now I haven't seen a special forces operative in action.. Well they won't tell you they are operating why are they called special forces?!.
Salatavor: 90% from the NA arsenal. You guys don't get it, BH international outlook is part of the terrorist and political propaganda to make the war look expensive. BH is locally supplied, locally trained and locally sponsored. The Chadians with this new offensive will raise some accusations against Nigeria hands in supporting this hoodlums and that's what I am waiting for.
nothing like 90 % NA arsenal at all..most of their fighters are foreign infact they train in mali, base in border areas in chad then attack us in Nigeria.. I remember the deadly attack on our 154 battalion in 2019 around June or so... After the attack the NAF responded with two mi35m striking targets in CHAD....
Whyem15: The only help they've provided to us against bokoharam apart from some irrelevant training is donating six used MRAPs to us. They openly blocked most of our weapons deal. The aircraft they are selling to us at incredibly inflated prices wont be delivered until 2024. Jow many years does it take to build just 6 super tucanos? They tried building a base in Nigeria, they weren't allowed. Or do you think US wouldn't have attempted to build a base in one of the most strategically important countries in Africa?
they donated 24 MRAP and they're building 12 tucano Correction pls...
Whyem15: We've not seen any action from Niger and Cameroon in months. It had to take the killing of over 90 chadians to get the chadians to go on the offensive. Is it that they are just aware of the Islands on lake chad that these terrorists use?. I'm sure this offensive will last 30 days at most and they are back to defensives. They will abandon the islands and the terrorists who are mostly on evasion right now will just move back in and rebuild with money they get from ransoming people they kidnap. I think it is high time FG criminalised the payment of ransome sef. It will be hard on a lot of people but kidnappings will eventually reduce when the criminals know they won't get anything from it.
Exactly what is said after this operation they will still come back... I remember in 2016/2017 our military dealt seriously with BHT but we're still wondering why is d war still on So things needs to be put in place... Nor be today Dem don trash BHT like dis I wonder how they got a whole lot of all this gunnery.. Certainly not from Nigeria army arsenal...
Salatavor: so is this a capability that Nigeria does not have? We have satellites we have the Marine surveillance planes. We have very expensive foreign trained special forces whose specialty is now reduced to National guard duties and looking for old women to rape and infect with sickness.
NAF has the whole sat image of North East and lake Chad....
SamuelAnyawu: Sincerely Chadians Soldiers got so much morale. I have met some of them in Monguno and Naganzai. Lemme me don't praise them much in order not to look patriotic.
The Last time ISWAP came to Monguno in January around 5pm dancing at our popular round about screaming that the Army should Come out. Sincerely if it was last year when the Chadians were around ISWAP will not come out so openly in that manner.
Tho the Chadians too are quite careless from my little observation. Here in Monguno you will see a Chadian Land cruiser with a mounted gun and no Gunner controlling it, while the driver drives around. I have never see a Nigeria Hilux mounted with an AA With no Nigerian Soldier behind
The army cannot just come out and start engaging them it's a death trap surely ISWAP was trying to lure the army into their nest and open fire then you'll hear 20 soilders killed in ambush.
