Sincerely Chadians Soldiers got so much morale. I have met some of them in Monguno and Naganzai. Lemme me don't praise them much in order not to look patriotic.

The Last time ISWAP came to Monguno in January around 5pm dancing at our popular round about screaming that the Army should Come out. Sincerely if it was last year when the Chadians were around ISWAP will not come out so openly in that manner.

Tho the Chadians too are quite careless from my little observation. Here in Monguno you will see a Chadian Land cruiser with a mounted gun and no Gunner controlling it, while the driver drives around. I have never see a Nigeria Hilux mounted with an AA With no Nigerian Soldier behind
Yeah that's one thing about the chadian military.. They've got high morale..
That's one thing our military lack Army to be precise.

Pic 3 has set them back for atleast 2 years, now it's Nigeria's armed forces imperative to sustain this and wipe them out, yeah,, this is what happens when you got the Chadians onboard
The ops was joint ops

The Air Task Force of Operation Lafiya Dole (OPLD) and Artillery Batteries of Sector 3 of the Multi-National Joint Task Force (MNJTF) have destroyed an Islamic State of West Africa Province (ISWAP) camp at Tumbun Fulani on the fringes of Lake Chad in Northern Borno.

The Acting Director, Defence Media Operations, Brig.-Gen. Bernard Onyeuko, disclosed this in a statement on Saturday in Abuja.

Onyeuko said the feat was achieved in combined air and artillery bombardments conducted on April 3.

He said it was in furtherance of the coordinated joint offensive by the MNJTF to dislodge and completely rid the Tumbuns Islands of terrorists’ presence and activities.

According to him, the operation was executed on the heels of credible intelligence reports indicating that the ISWAP elements, with their structures concealed under the dense vegetation of the area, used the settlement as a base from where they plan and launch attacks.

“Accordingly, the joint interdiction mission was launched with a Nigerian Air Force (NAF) Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) aircraft coordinating the barrage of artillery and air fire towards designated targets in the settlement, destroying them and neutralising some of the ISWAP fighters in the process,” he said.

Onyeuko also disclosed that the Air Task Force has continued to provide airlift support to troops of participating MNJTF national contingents, along with their logistics.

He added that NAF ISR platforms and helicopters were also providing aerial command posts for enhanced coordination of close air support missions as well as fire control support for independent ground artillery bombardment of terrorists’ positions.

The spokesperson reassured that the armed forces would sustain the offensive against the enemies of Nigeria in furtherance of the objective of restoring peace and security in the North East region.

You are paying for all that weaponry I hope? grin Oil price is crashing and the global economy will likely suffer a recession. Nigeria is already broke and spends too much servicing its debts. Where will the money to buy all these future weapons come from please?
By the way, have you heard of something called urgent need? When you meet a farmer dying of starvation, do you give him a bag of eba and sugar to use in drinking garri, or do you give him a bucket of seeds and farming implements and tell him to plant, grow his farm and eat to his fill when his plants mature in 3 to 4 months?
The strategic plan sounds nice, but it should be flexible to take account of and accommodate present and future needs.
we aren't buying all at once I didn't say that aren't u seeing they way NAF buys her platforms...

but there's something y'all ain't getting right..
If you've read the NAF strategic plan for modernization (Which is no longer available for download and no longer on the net) y'all will know where NAF is heading..
The Super tucano will serve it's purpose
More gunships will come
More fighter jets will come it ain't ending at 3jf17
What this current CAS is doing he's trying to get all these done with limited resources that's all

In August 2017, the US State Department approved the sale of the 12 A-29 Super Tucano, spares, support equipment and services, and associated weapons for $593 million to the Nigerian Air Force
.

I had read a report on this but can't be bothered trying to find it.

But l am not the only one with that view of costing of $600 million.

Do you think this procurement is " Best Value " and the most effective use of our very scarce resources.
well I'll say it's best value and the most effective use of our very scarce resources
The Super tucano is solely built for CTCOIN and perfect for the job of CAS..
It's easy to maintain
Cost per flight is what we can handle
ISR capable so in case we sight insurgents it will not be D case of calling strike platforms..
It will now be a SEEK AND DESTROY kind of operation...
Via this aircraft we'll be changed to add to our store of Guided munitions

ARMED FORCES OF NIGERIA RAMPS UP ATTACKS ON BOKO HARAM LOCATIONS, TAKES OUT SEVERAL TERRORISTS IN AIR STRIKES AT PARISU IN BORNO STATE

1. In furtherance of the objective of restoring peace and security in the North East of the Country, the Armed Forces of Nigeria, through the Air Task Force of Operation LAFIYA DOLE, has ramped up attacks against terrorists’ locations in Borno State. The latest of these attacks was executed at Parisu, a Boko Haram Terrorists’ hideout, within the Sambisa Forest on 31 March 2020, after series of Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) missions revealed a resurgence of activities within the settlement.

2. Fighter jets dispatched by the Air Task Force to attack the hideout took turns in engaging the location, resulting in the destruction of some of the structures as well as the killing of several terrorists. Other fighters, who attempted to reposition themselves in order to engage the attack aircraft, were taken out in follow-on strikes at their hiding places under shrubbery.

3. The Armed Forces of Nigeria, working in synergy with counterpart security agencies and stakeholders, will sustain the tempo of offensive action against all elements inimical to the peace and security of our beloved Nation.

The troops of Operation Lafiya Dole (OPLD) has destroyed another logistics base of the Boko Haram Terrorists at Ngoske in the fringes of Sambisa forest in Borno State, the Defence Headquarters says.

The Acting Director, Defence Media Operations, Benard Onyeuko, a brigadier general, disclosed this in a statement on Tuesday in Abuja.

Mr Onyeuko said the feat was achieved in an air raid conducted by the Air Component of OPLD in a subsidiary operation, Decisive Edge on Monday.

He explained that the air strikes were conducted following credible intelligence reports indicating the existence of some structures within the settlements used by the terrorists to store their arms and other logistics items.

“Accordingly, following confirmatory Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) missions, which showed significant activity in the settlement, Nigerian military fighter jets were dispatched to attack the location.

“The jets’ bombs and rockets recorded accurate hits on target leading to the destruction of the base as well as the neutralization of some Boko Haram fighters.

“The Armed Forces of Nigeria, in furtherance of the objective of restoring peace and security in the Northeast, will continue to sustain the offensive against the enemies of our dear Nation,” he said.

Happy New month Everyone
We thank God for seeing the month of April
It's quite sad what we're experience in Nigeria Mostly The North East
Tribute to those who gave their today for our tommorow
Those who stay awake so we may sleep
They are the fathers/ Mothers to some childern
They are siblings, uncles and aunts to some out there..
Despite the fact that they lack essential tools of war they still pull out some daring feat..
Their work won't be in vain.
We won't end up signing peace deal with these demons..
They most suffer.
As for us all who knows what's happening in the north east enough criticism and start voicing out hope the men and women of War..
We can still win this..
We're still strong
We are Africa's Gaint
In Mandela's words: Africa will not be respected until Nigeria gets it's respect..
But we have to make it happen guys..
In our own little way..
God bless Nigeria
God bless the Armed forces of Nigeria..

In a scale never reported by an independent source, HumAngle has exclusively obtained information that documents the pattern of fatalities suffered in recent months by the leadership cadres of the various terrorist groups in the Lake Chad Basin. Fundamentally, the terrorist groups include Jama’atu Ahlil Sunnah, (JAS) also known as Boko Haram, and the Islamic State West Africa State, (ISWAP).

The Abubakar Shekau led Boko Haram is dominantly operating in the Southern Borno and the Mandara mountain areas covering parts of Nigeria and Cameroon, with a branch outpost in the Lake Chad basin between Tumur in Niger Republic and Kangar in Northern Borno, Nigeria. On the other hand, the Ba Lawan led ISWAP dominates Northern parts of Borno and the islands in the Lake Chad basin covering Nigeria, Cameroon and Chad and currently pushing downwards to Southern Borno, strategically creating a ring around Shekau’s Boko Haram.

Nigerian Airforce bombardments of the positions of the insurgents in the months between January and March 2020 has taken out no less than 18 of the prime war commanders of ISWAP. There have been a series of sustained targeted airstrikes of the positions of ISWAP and Boko Haram following a return of the dry season. Fatalities have hit hard on the leadership of the insurgents, extending beyond casualties from airstrikes in the past few months going by the exclusive intelligence information obtained by HumAngle.

Further exclusive information on fatalities within the leadership cadres of the insurgents obtained by HumAngle points to further 25 leaders losing their lives between October 2019 and March 2020. The 25 fatalities, according to the records, they died from either injury sustained in combat or other grave medical conditions.

ISWAP particularly, following a sustained period of internal feuds, has lost 13 additional prime leaders between January and March 2020. These are leaders who were executed by their associates for falling out of political favour. Leadership feud has fed a hunger for bloody revolt within the top echelon of the group’s leadership over the past few months. This has resulted in the dramatic and bitter emergence of three leaders in the group within the past year.

With the air of uncertainty overshadowing its future, many of its leading lights and members are reconsidering a continued committal of their future to a cause that seems not to assure them of a victory over the ‘infidel’ state. HumAngle further obtained exclusively that ISWAP has been hit hard by an explosion of defections in the past three months.

According to the records obtained by HumAngle, no less than 400 members and leaders of the two major insurgency groups have voted with their feet. Our information, however, holds that over 70 percent of the defections are members of ISWAP.

92 Chad soldiers killed in 'deadliest' Boko Haram attack

Attack on soldiers on the Boma peninsula on Sunday lasted at least seven hours and reinforcements were also attacked.

At least 92 soldiers from Chad have been killed in the deadliest-ever attack by the Boko Haram armed group on the country's military forces, President Idriss Deby said on Tuesday.

"We lost 92 of our soldiers, non-commissioned officers and officers," the president said of the attack overnight on Sunday in Boma.

"It’s the first time we have lost so many men," he added, after visiting the site of the incident in Lac province, which borders Niger and Nigeria.

Over 20 Chadian soldiers 'killed in Boko Haram raid'

The attack on soldiers on the Boma peninsula lasted at least seven hours and reinforcements sent to help out were also hit, one soldier told AFP news agency.

He said 24 army vehicles were destroyed, including armoured vehicles and Boko Haram carried off weapons stolen from the military in speedboats.

"The enemy has hit at our defences hard in this zone," a senior officer said.

The attack is part of an expanding armed campaign in the vast, marshy Lake Chad area, where the borders of Cameroon, Chad, Niger and Nigeria converge.

INSIDE STORY: Has Boko Haram been defeated? (25:00)

Boko Haram launched an armed campaign in Nigeria in 2009 before beginning incursions in its eastern neighbours.

Earlier on Tuesday, Nigeria's military reported that scores of Nigerian soldiers were also killed in the northeastern state of Borno near the border with Chad.

The attackers used rocket-propelled grenades and other heavy weaponry in the attack on the village of Gorgi on Monday evening.

It was not immediately clear who the attackers were, but fighters from Boko Haram and the ISIL (ISIS) West Africa Province groups are active in the region.

Boko Haram has stepped up its attacks in recent months on the islands of the Lake Chad Basin.

Since 2015, countries in the area have cooperated in the Multinational Joint Force, a regional coalition engaged around Lake Chad with the help of local residents formed into vigilante groups.

Boko Haram's decade-long armed campaign has so far killed 36,000 people and displaced nearly two million in northeastern Nigeria, according to the United Nations.

At least 70 Nigerian soldiers killed in jihadist ambush: military sources
By AFP
24 March 2020 | 10:06 am

At least 70 Nigerian soldiers were killed in an ambush on their convoy by jihadist fighters in the restive northeast, military and security sources said on Tuesday.
Insurgents fired rocket-propelled grenades at a lorry carrying troops as it travelled near Gorgi village in Borno state on Monday, two military officers told AFP without giving their names.
“It was a huge loss, at least 70 soldiers have perished in the ambush,” one of the officers said.
“The terrorists specifically targeted a truck loaded with soldiers with RPGs and incinerated the vehicle, killing all on board,” a second official said.
“So far 70 bodies have been recovered but the toll is certainly more than that as the rescue operation is still underway.”
Several soldiers were injured and some others were taken captive by the jihadists, the two officers said.
A spokesman for the Nigerian army told AFP that he was unable to comment on the reported attack.
The convoy had left regional capital Maiduguri on its way to launch an offensive on a camp belonging to jihadists affiliated to the Islamic State group in the area, a member of a government-backed militia fighting the insurgents told AFP.
The Islamic State West Africa Province faction split from Boko Haram insurgents in 2016 and has focused on attacking troops, raiding bases and laying ambush on military convoys.
The group has been accused of increasing attacks on civilians and taking hostages at bogus checkpoints on main roads in the region.
The decade-long conflict has killed 36,000 people and displaced 1.8 million in the northeast of Nigeria.
Fighting has also spilt over into neighbouring countries, prompting the formation of a regional military coalition to fight the insurgents.
