ujchief: Desperation is gradually setting in. GEJ is grasping on straws: he knows he doesn't have anything to show for the number of years he's been seated at aso rock, eating N1bil food per annum. So he feels the best way to win election is to play the religion card again like he played the 'I had no shoe' card.you be liar! He doesn't eat 1billion naira food annually o, it is 4billion naira annually o |
emmysenior: Must you quote almost d whole thing just to pass ur trivialised point across?must you comment if you have nothing to say? |
Lordave: you are saying that Soyinka is right, though he could be but using such words on your first lady is absolutely not acceptable of a person like Soyinka. He could be seen as male chauvinist.what exempted orji uzor kalu from the criticism which he has placed on someone? In your own normal sense and not a general normal sense would you say kalu's advice is better than soyinka's. What is the male chauvinism in trying to remind the meddlesome first lady that she has no constitutional duty and so be in her place? That is the problem with nigerians. What has spared the president or any political office holder or his families the rod of criticism? How many of such women has wole soyinka ever criticized if you won't mind listing them? |
Contributed by Prince Kassim Afegbua - • Says Nobel laureate is suffering from intellectual cirrhosisSpokesman of former military President, General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida, Prince Kassim Afegbua, has taken Nobel Laureate Professor Wole Soyinka to the cleaners over the latter's comment Wednesday that IBB was not qualified to give the keynote address at this year's NLNG awards ceremony. Afegbua said that the recent outburst of Soyinka are not only misplaced, but have further confirmed the world renowned intellectual as two-faced, 'ego-defensive ideologue' who never practices what he preaches. In a written response titled SOYINKA’S MISPLACED OUTBURST ON IBB OVER THE NLNG AWARD EVENT, Afegbua who is also the acting national chairman of the National Democratic Party (NDP) said it was in the character of Soyinka to dine with the powers that be in the night only to come out in the morning to condemn them in order to endear himself to the unsuspecting public. "There is nothing more nauseating than to see a man trying to be holier than thou and yet expecting the public to take him serious. Such deep-rooted pretentiousness has been the bane of most writers who never practice what they preach, either in their works of fiction or daily lives. Professor Wole Soyinka falls into this category of ego-defensive ideologues who try as much as possible to portray a different world view from their actual characteristics", Afegbua said. The rejoinder from the IBB spokesman reads in part: "From all the available records of service in Soyinka’s trajectory in life, there are legions of references to suggest that he is a man of dual personality. It is a matter of fact that Soyinka served in the Babangida regime in the capacity of Chairman, Federal Road Safety Commission. It is also on video tape that he publicly endorsed the Structural Adjustment Programme of the Babangida era. It is also a matter of fact, that he had always abhorred the objective behind the Nobel Laureate until he was made a beneficiary. It is on record that he accepted the second highest honour of Commander of the Federal Republic [CFR] during military regime of General Ibrahim Babangida. The award was to shore up his profile against the wholesale criticisms by his colleague writers, of his Nobel Laureate which they said he did not merit. It is on record that he went overseas to campaign against the democratic elections of 1983 won by Alhaji Shehu Shagari, on account of the elections being rigged. It is also on record that his tenure as Chairman of FRSC was not the best of times for the organization. He ran the Commission as his personal fiefdom. When the Abacha regime tried to investigate his tenure of the FRSC he went on self exile. It is a matter of historical correctness that he walked into the studio of Western Nigeria Broadcasting Corporation in 1965 to substitute
all these haven't qualified IBB to give the NLNG keynote address at this year award. |
noblezone: A bomb exploded today at Buguma, Rivers State at a function attended by the anti-Amaechi minister, Wike.how many people died? If no one dies, it means the bombing is political and likely by those having their meeting around the place of bomb blast. |
Whodid Mitchelle have to meddle in the affairs of other states' government before she could help her husband in winning an election? Why is Orji Uzor Kalu goofing by trying to bend two parallel lines to meet! Nobody is underestimating the power of any woman here. PEJ has to be kept in her place like any other 1st lady. When Wole Soyinka was criticizing Turai yar adua, where was he to Try Turai for kidnapping, where was Orji Uzor Kalu to say what soyinka said isn't right. I understand this is the time to seek the favor of the presidency. |
If this is done and GEJ wins the election. Which of the Senator Sani Yerima's wives becomes the 2nd lady of the federation? The 13year-Egyptian girl he married in 2010? |
Let PEJ catch you(obahiagbon), your wife will be among my fellow widow, when your manhood continues to live on because what she will do to you will make you to rather die than to commit suicide. She thought that you and Wole soyinka are good people like my husband and sambo is a good people. In fact, who are you to bring me to the issue of the problem those children caused in my state's house of assembly last week? Amechi and his state's assembly are children, the president was once a child and also the senators were once a children. Soyinka said i should be a lady before being a first lady. FYI, am a big lady and a mother cos a good mother takes care of his children. Everybody knows what my effort is, please don't mind them, vote umblerra and press your finger for umblerra cos it won't be easy for PDP to carry second in a competition like this |
Xavi got his size, not taller and not shorter. |
Seems i've once read a post where a couple met on nairaland and happily married now. Am on nairaland to know the latest, learn from different people, tribes and ethnic groups and mostly to catch fun, not to search so i've never thought to that extent. Though there are many intelligent ladies here, but the problem is some of them may not be able to replicate their online anonymous intelligence. |
I should be grateful to my gurl for getting it free of charge. |
Afam4eva: I wonder when he will hand out with his kits in Kins in Amasea, Ebonyi state where he really comes from.we nigerians like good things |
Seems as if the mother doesn't really like the baby. |
Up al mustapha! Another instrument in the making to be used in the next election. Hope this judgement isn't to upset the southwest? |

So na cigar dey worry all these guys wey dey post nonsense all this while. I think it is high time we stopped taking them serious. |
tomakint: I have been a follower of Great Ife politics before I gained admission! Of course, Lamikanra had no choice than to be gentle because what brought him and Tony Fash on head on collision had a lot to do with his refusal to let go about 70 something pharmmacy students in the year '95 for some reasons best known to him which Tony Fash took upon himself and eventually led to their graduation! My guardian way back then was Professor Adewumi, that gentle Prof whose office is no1 at the Pharmacy dept!i know prof adewumi. I read it in the link i provided concerning the nations publish on tony fash after his eventual graduation from oau medical school. From what i heard, lamikanra was just fearful then. Never knew he was the dean that time of tony fash sha. |
tomakint: Kid, you are a ninny for the unguided outburst from you! This is a guy who risked his life, education, time to liberate OAU students from the shackles of oppression introduced into the system by sadist lecturers like Lamikanra, occultic VC like Wale Omole and you are here spewing gabbage, son, you deserve 100 strokes of bulala for that nonsense you just said!lamikanra was my lecturer. Though he became quite gentle relative to what we heard about him. |
tai wo: Google bro..i know ur type anyway. No comment. |

Patience was challenged to show a proof of her university certificate. I know the response will be a jab at the prof. |
