Nairaland General › Re: What Manner Of Man Is Ikenna, Politics Section New Mod? by tomakint: 1:25pm On Apr 11, 2013
OMO IBO: Like the debates will make much difference. Those who are hell bent on being tribal ethnicists will continue in that light.

When jarus introduced the debates it didn't stop our intellectuals from throwing tribal darts at each other on other threads. I mean the debates and tribal mudslinging threads ran concurrently.

I remember the numerous threads on biafra, awolowo, zik etc. The debates definitely didn't stop these threads from springing up.
You are definitely right on this one probably that was the main reason Seun and the management had to discontinue the debate because somehow the bigots still 'sneaked' to derail the educative intentions of the debate!

OMO IBO: Rotflmao. . .
So I woke up this morning. Did my early morning ritual. . .a bit of nairalanding!

Tried responding to the thrrad created by Ikenna but noticed it was locked.

Funny thing is, it is the 'self proclaimed intellectuals' who are kicking against simple instructions such as:

No more tribalism
Igbo is igbo
Yoruba is yoruba
Ojukwu is ojukwu
Awolowo is Awolowo
Achebe is Achebe
. . . I mean how complex is the above?

While I'm in total support of the new MODS position I fear he'll tire out over time.

In the meantime, you 'intellectuals sorry cry babies' crack me up. I tell ya.
For your info bro, intellectualism and tribalism are two parallel lines that can never meet! No matter how intellectually-gifted one is, if such a one is an unrepentant tribalist especially in Nigerian context, trust me such a one is only an 'educated illiterate' that's just the way it is cool

Jakumo: To answer the question posed earlier here, Ikenna is a VERY effective and productive moderator, for he has, for the first time that I can recall, eliminated all that utterly boring and repetitive tribalistic venom that polluted the Nairaland forum for far too long already.

Take a chainsaw to them tribal hate mongering swamp-monkeys, Ikenna, for you are doing what NO other Nairaland forum moderator has ever tried to do, namely to filter out the crap, so as to allow intelligent discourse to reign supreme, as it should.
You 'hit the nail on the head' once again! Good thinking bro wink
Nairaland General › Re: What Manner Of Man Is Ikenna, Politics Section New Mod? by tomakint: 10:49am On Apr 11, 2013
Ikenna is, 'a stickler-of-rules' and he has come to stay for good! He is the need of the hour at the politics section if sanity must come back to that 'most visited section of Nairaland'! The daily show of shame at the politics section is really killing Nairaland silently!

Politics › Re: God Punish This Government by tomakint: 9:41am On Apr 11, 2013
@ OP but you are part of the government too! With this system of government and our mindset as a people not even Obama will do it better than what this man Goodluck Jonathan is doing! If in doubt, just take a flashback to previous administrations especially Obasanjo's who wasted a huge sum of over N2 trillion (about $16 billion) on the power sector alone and Nigeria cannot boast of 15 hours of power supply daily throughout his 8 years in power!
Politics › Re: Let's Have Your Complaints, Suggestions & Enquiries Here by tomakint: 9:32am On Apr 11, 2013
The above post is representative of the ambiguity and confusion introduced by the new Mod. The rules were clearly laid out by OAM4J and Ikenna351 did not insist that 'Yooba, Yoruba, Ibo, Heebo' terms will warrant a ban. He was just talking about some countdown which was not clarified or explained.

If the new Mod had not introduced the confusion, people like you, who are supposed to be bright, will not be confused as to what rules to follow. Until OAM4J, Afam, or Seun, tells us that those valid words are no longer acceptable and provides the reasons why, the rules have not yet changed. I am quite sure that no one wants to introduce censorship here.
You are still not getting the 'koko of the matter' the new mod wants a uniform spelling of some terms especially as they trigger hates amidst us in the hands of chronic bigots here, and my question to you is, what is so difficult with sticking with 'Yoruba and Igbo' when referring to those terms in your post? There is no confusion there, except for nutcases here!
Politics › Re: Let's Have Your Complaints, Suggestions & Enquiries Here by tomakint: 9:06am On Apr 11, 2013
Would a moderator, OAM4j, Afam, Ikenna351, Supermod, or Seun, please explain to me why this thread was locked and remains as a sticky?

The thread was opened by the new moderator who managed to offend many well meaning visitors of the section by introducing unnecessary ambiguity and confusion into the section. The thread was abruptly locked (bastardized) without any reason provided in another show of insensitivity.

Below is an example of the confusion introduced by the new disrespectful moderator:

What da heck does "grace period" mean and what is the mod counting down to? The rule of the section sanctioned by Seun and OAM4J clearly state that Ibo and Yoruba will no longer be hidden, or the users who use then banned. So I ask again, what grace period are you talking about?

Ikenna351, your work will be difficult enough, stop insulting visitors of this section, enforce rules and clarify them as you do your job. These threats of yours including the threat of changing rules is quite silly and childish.
But why are you making things so convoluted for yourself and others who think along your line of reasoning? The new Mod insists no more 'Yooba, Yoruba, Ibo, Heebo and other derogatory terms some incorrigible bigots and tribalists coined for their pungent remarks here' what is so difficult to stick with a uniform 'Yoruba and Igbo' spelling on Nairaland? If you get life ban and probably your IP address gets blocked you start whinning as usual! Stick with simple instructions and move on! Stop (alongside your folks who are in your shoes) being a nutcase undecided

Pataki: You reek of astonishing stupidity and evil babyosisi. No wonder you can go about banging cyber administrators across different foras and not feel right to condemn this evil act possibly done by one of your igbo sisters.

Your sisters are busy popping bassstard kids here and there without a proper family. And at the slightest provocation, they make a young idiotic man blind.

Ikenna351: This morning, the Admin, Mr. Seun, increased my responsibility as a moderator in Nairaland. He made me a co-mod in Politics section. I took the job simply to team up with OAM4J & Afam4eva to fight this deadly virus eating up this Politics section. So, my priority here is to deal with the virus.

Its too shameful what some of the adults here are teaching our children. An innocent kid registers in Nairaland, the first thing he or she is taught is to hate his neighour, schoolmates, classmates or even best friends, simply because they are from different tribes. You maynot be directly teaching them how to hate an innocent fellow human being at home or in school, but you are directly doing that here.

Ojukwu made mistake in the past, what about it? Awolowo did the same, what about it? My father must have made some mistakes in the past and so what? I have made some mistakes in the past that am not proud of and so wetin come happen? An waht about you blaming another tribe or prominent figure for an alleged mistake(s), are you saying you have never done something in the past that you always regret whenever you remember them? Show me, who is that perfect man? Cant we let the past be and see what the future have for us?

The Rwanda Genocide didnt just happen. It started like what we are doing here. Creating & Promoting hatred. Sudan is not left out. We may call it e-tribal fight, but dont understimate what it does in our minds, which translate one way or another in our personal lives offline.

Ojukwu is Ojukwu. Type anything other than that and i will ban you. Awolowo is Awolowo, anything short of that warrants ban from me. Achebe is Achebe. Type anything else, then we shall see. Am not a baby, i know a typo when i see one. I have taken my time to study and see some people deliberate address such people with offensive names. If you can spell your name correctly, then you have no reason not to spell Ojukwu, Achebe or Awolowo correctly.

Unfortunately, some of the Igbos were raised outside the Eastern part of the country. They are the ones that would argue that Ibo is the called pronounciation and spelling, rather than Igbo. Well, i wont blame them. Few of our fathers who had their formal education during colonial era wrongly still write as they were taught by the whiteman. Some are still victims of mental colonization. Ibo maynot be an issue outside Nairaland, but it has become one in Nairaland, deliberately used to instigate tribal war in Politics section. For the sake of peace, use your Ibo outside Politics section. Likewise, dont address anyother tribe with an offensive name, claiming you read it in a book or you found it on google.

If you an Igbo and think I wont ban you because am an Igbo too when you call a Yoruba "Yoruba", i will first ban you even if the yoruba fellow first insulted you. Prefential treatment is not in my dictionary. And note that the duration of my ban is usually 7 days.

I have not hidden any post yet or ban anyone, but as soon as this this posted. I have not become anyone's enemy yet. I maynot have time for other offences, but not for tribalism. Wont spare anyone, even if you are a friend. If you dont like my style of mod, you better start your petition to the admin to remove me before i fully start. Because, i wont spare any tribalist here who refuses to change.

Depending on the degree of the insult against another tribe, i may hide the post, ban the username or both.

Ikenna.
Ikenna, first thing first, congratulations on your promotion as a Mod may your time here bring the needed change to this esteemed site you are most welcome! Indeed, sanity needs to come back to the most visited section of Nairaland - Politics! My brother you have a lot to do here and if you can make good your 'terms' I will personally invite you for a banquet (no pun intended)! You have said all that is needed to be heard and personally to make it more formal, I would have loved it if you can make this post a 'front page material for all to see' so that you'll be justified when you start wielding the BIG STICK! Once again, congratulations wink
Amen my brother. Very few people here know that Buhari was at a time governor of North Eastern state of Nigeria (now divided into Borno, Yobe, Bauchi, Adamawa, Gombe and Taraba states) with Maiduguri ad the state capital. That region is the hotbed and headquarters of Boko haram today due to the millions of Almajiris and illiterates prevalent there. If Buhari had invested in western education while he was governor of the state, those youths would have been somewhere in life today instead of strapping bombs on themselves and blowing people up.

So much for a visionary leader.
More power to your elbow!
