omonnakoda:The technical know-how is what we need to be up there....have you ever imagined what Cadbury (UK) and Nestle (Switzerland) make from Africa alone every month (billions of dollars) yet the major components (cocoa powder) of these International Products are found in Africa (especially Ghana, Congo and Nigeria). Imagine if we have the technical know-how and a Nigerian is behind Nestle (our own brand). Leadership remains the bane of Africa's development. |
omonnakoda:My brother this Country is too loaded to dey suffer like this....it is a fact that about 8 million tourists visit top Medical Destinations of the World every year for medical reasons....Nigerian government only need little money to harness this great potentials and hey presto! we are up there selling our medicinal potentials as one of the World Medical Destinations. |
omonnakoda:Not really but as a trained environmentalist who studies the environment I know Nigeria is home to some exotic plants (in Edo, Cross Rivers, Ondo State, Taraba etc) that are generally believed have medicinal values against cancer, diabetes, hemorrhage etc |
omonnakoda:Absolutely fantastic analysis you got up there....capitalism entrenched in a Presidential System can never rescue a developing nation like Nigeria from the woods, the earlier we realised this the better for us. Economic blueprints of countries like; Thailand, South Korea, Malaysia, Singapore, Hong Kong are all what Nigeria needs to survive. With the myriads of exotic plants (that have medicinal values) surrounding us as a nation I see no reason why Nigeria cannot be a Medical Tourism Destination per excellence just like Malaysia and Thailand. Too many resources but terrible leaders. |
jahsharon:Last? March 10 the dude is forgotten in the dustbin of history as a once-upon-a-time Senate President. |
Achuwa1:I am sorry you seems not to know the antecedents of Bukola Saraki.....perhaps you can contact Fire fire (a fellow forumite) for more education. |
Saraki ouster is a done deal no doubt. Marafa raised some valid points there only a corrupt-minded soul will take sides with Saraki. |
ubecharles:Most of these Countries you mentioned hardly borrow above their means so their currency is somewhat stable.....unlike we, we borrow heavily and yet not a producing economy. |
Gboliwe:Just to prove to you dear that if no be d fucck up of Wada in Kogi the late Abubakar Audu no get chance to win that State. Edo State is already cooked and ready to be eaten by PDP Oshiomole go hear am soon. How u dey, its been ages babe... |
Chief Ifeanyi Ubah how do you intend to achieve that? Our balance of trade is negative, global oil price has fallen, we are a consuming economy, we run an expensive system of government that bites hard on capital expenditure but caress recurrent expenditure, our FX is below $30 billion, and many indices aiding the free fall of Naira. So Sir, how do you intend to achieve that? |
Wao Abok! Na Abok! at any given time what a waste of time and effort .....flying thousand of miles on taxpayer monies on a futile effort....for crying out loud Bubu should take his sneaky eyes off this oil ish and look at how Nigeria myriad of resources can be turned to worthy International Products ![]() |
Wishful thinking will not suffice, Nigeria needs brazen economic blueprints like the Asian Tigers to bail herself out. Praying to God and doing vigils are not enough. |
emenas:It has two faces and the worst thing about it is that the negative part far outweighs its positive side because of Nigeria's economic stratagem. |
@ Op, Your expository and detailed explanations on the devaluation of the Naira and the ripple effects were excellent. However, you must realize that Nigeria is still in the woods of a consuming economy rather than adorning herself with the toga of a producing economy if Nigeria will have to bail herself out of her current economic challenge then this Government need to go study the Economic Blueprint of the Asian Tigers. Just two International Products are enough to bail Nigeria out in the next 10 years......this Naira depreciating value may be the yardstick for scoring Buhari on the long run but I am afraid he is not balling. Power sector should be the top priority before we can preach 'buy Nigeria to save Nigeria'. Power sector must be fixed to optimal level (at least 10,000 mega watts) within the next 12 months before meaningful platform can be established for a producing economy to berth. Singapore, Hong Kong, Taiwan and South Korea were once like us in the 60s but today by strong-willed determination unfazed by Western Policies and Interventions (I call it WPI) they are called 'developed nations of the world'. Nigeria still has a long way to go.... |
modelmike7:You definitely knew diddlysquat about Nigeria political history especially about the man you referred to as a good man. Read and learn my friend......he was a terrible soldier with a rudderless ambition |
Where is Lalasticlala when you need him sef this thread don't reach 1 and half days old and Lala is dulling.... |
Ezenwammadu:Eze, me I still believe there is more to that budget than meet the eye.....just watch out. |
2boiz:In a nutshell, Saraki will soon understand the intricacy of Nigeria politics. He is indeed a learner......the rule says, do not outshine the MASTER! |
Spokesperson for the Senate Unity Forum, Senator Kabir Marafa, on Sunday, demanded the immediate suspension of Senate President, Bukola Saraki, for allegedly creating controversies around the 2016 budget in order to blackmail President Muhammadu Buhari. Marafa, who is also the Chairman, Senate Committee on National Identity and National Population, told a group of select journalists in Abuja that, Saraki and his loyalists in the red chamber, were condemning the budget to protest his ongoing trial at the Code of Conduct Tribunal. He added that the budget controversies in very logical ways, could be linked to the pending trial of Saraki at the CCT. The senate president according to him, through the aid of fifth columnists, has been shouting at different times that the budget was missing, doctored, or padded, hence can no longer be passed as earlier planned. He said, “Honestly speaking if am to comment on the controversy that has been trailing the 2016 budget in the Senate, I will say it is all the work of the fifth columnists there. “We woke up one day and the senate president just came and said there is no budget, that the budget is stolen embarrassing everybody, but the following day the Speaker said his own was not stolen. “Next, they said the budget is doctored, next they said the budget is padded, next they said there are discrepancies all over the place we knew how they came into the leadership of the National Assembly or the Senate. “Was it a coincidence that the issue of padding and everything just came up after the supreme court said go and face your trial ? “Suddenly we started hearing that we cannot pass the budget as we promised because there are discrepancies and so on and so forth. “In a nutshell, all the noise about the budget are all about this issue of corruption trial or CCT trial that is all, no more no less.” http://www.punchng.com/cct-trial-saraki-blackmailing-buhari-budget-controversies-marafa/

Like the Wise would say, "to marry once is a duty, twice is a folly but thrice is pure madness",this is her mistake. I still wish her a happy married life. |
Lai Mohammed be like.....

I found this on my FB page and I feel like sharing to the young minds here. But why are ladies/girls like this and yet guys easily forgive them when they should be reprimanded.
|
ozoigbondu:You can say that again......you wondered how he had gone quiet like the dead when he is actually alive and kicking. Moral of the lesson: be careful what you wished Goodluck Ebele Jonathan! |
He was more like the mouthpiece of Buhari before the elections. He blasted the hell out of Jonathan for no just cause. He sees Buhari as his Lord and Saviour like many APC followers here. He was the one who said, there is nothing like oil subsidy that its all fraud. The icing on the cake was when he confidently said this...........loading........
