Politics › Re: Fayose Counsels Buhari Over Foreign Trips, Says; “ The Trips Bleed The Economy" by tomakint: 2:07pm On Feb 03, 2016
skademzy:
If only fayose knew what subtle diplomacy is... If he think travelling to re-assure countries of a new nigeria as obasanjo did in 1999 to repair the spoilt Nigeria image during Abacha reign is a waste of fund. Then He can also advice his kinsmen to avoid food as a waste of money but rather commit such fund to savings. Both food and travelling in this context are matters of neccessity.
My friend leave it or take it, Buhari's many trips abroad is worrisome the economy needs to be rejigged for a buoyant future and not these gallivanting... Nigeria is a consuming economy and still is, so what is Buhari doing to turn the economy into a producing one? Obasanjo did the same gallivanting and yet Nigeria still remains a consuming economy with a 70% recurrent expenditure and 30% capital expenditure on our budget so where are we heading?

pipeline attack also in Kaduna? Are their niger delta millitants in kaduna? Somebody need to clear what happened there to me, thanks
Kaduna as a State has no drop of oil but ran a network of oil pipelines in the Niger Delta that transport oil to the Kaduna Refinery in Kaduna......these same pipelines were bombed by militants to send message to the FG that 'the boys are back'.
Politics › Re: Excerpts Of Major Nzeogwu’s Coup Speech by tomakint: 7:55pm On Jan 15, 2016
cyrilamx:
I wonder how many comments here really captured what transpired that fateful day of the said coup which was the remote cause of the genocide cum fratricide war. Nzogwu, in the book why we struck by one of the coupist; major Adegboyega, was portrayed as an unbiased Nigerian, a very disciplined and religious Soldier. He was feared by both his superiors and juniors. He wanted the best for Nigeria. Nobody can based on the recent happenings in Nigeria fault the reason for the coup: 10 percent corruption, nepotism, ethnicity and the likes. Today, those corrupt politicians who were executed in the 1966 military putsch when compared with their successors, will be raised to the alter of sainthood. The aim of the coup was driven by nationalism, but Nzogwu was betrayed by those stationed in the eastern part of the country. Or how does one explain the hosting of an archbishop by Michael okpara; the premier of Eastern region who was one of those penciled down for elimination? Or the sudden trip outside the shore of Nigeria by the then president of Nigeria; Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe? From time immemorial, the igbos have always shot themselves on their feet in attempt to outsmart the rest of the country. Nobody will accept such blood-letting against his own when yours remain safe. Having seen his revolutionary dream crumbled before his very eyes, worst still crushed by a fellow igbo officer in the person of Ojukwu, he had no choice but surrendered to the federal govt. Taken to lagos and locked up. Even when the war broke up, Nzogwu had not publicly supported any side. It was after he was smuggled out of the heavily guarded prison by Ojukwu that he eventually fought for biafra. A sandhurst trained armoured personnel poacher, he was a loner. At the young age of 30 and still single and celibate, Nzogwu was killed by Federal troops in 1967. He was immediately flown to kaduna and given full military honour before interred. Which ever way one looks at it...Nzogwu was a victim of power play that characterize Nigeria as a political entity. There can never be a revolutionary, upright and disciplined like him.
You are an egghead sir, you capture it well.
Politics › Re: Breaking News: Wike Vs Dakuku : Supreme Court Shifts Hearing To Next Week by tomakint: 7:32am On Jan 15, 2016
My prayer goes to Wike's vindication at the Court because with the jagajaga and scatter scatter way of running government APC is currently perpetuating now, I don't think any reasonable human will want them in Rivers. From doctored budget, inconclusive elections to flagrant display of disrespect to the judiciary the list keeps growing......

Politics › Re: Rotimi Amaechi:"FG May Probe Stealing In Oil Sector During Jonathan's Tenure" by tomakint: 7:22am On Jan 15, 2016
Probe everywhere and yet the economy is in comatose, things are taking bad shapes almost daily yet these megalomaniacs can only shout probe because they are largely clueless on how to run a government. Obasanjo met a worse Nigeria when he came onboard 16 years ago and really put in place some infrastructures without disturbing our ears, Obama inherited big economic challenge from Bush yet no noise...... By the way what does one expect from a government with Amaechi (an arrogant former Governor who achieve less during his 8 years in power) as Minister. undecided

Bros, cool down. The least Nigeria owes him is fair hearing and that we must fight for to ensure that the accused have no more excuses before imprisonment.

Allow him to explore all legal means whatsoever available in our constitution/laws and to put forward his defense why he is not guilty as charge and let's allow judges to adjudicate on the matter without tying their hands through social media lynching and prosecution.
OK Ma'am I will take your golden advice.

I guess this dimwit only judges performance by the trash he sees on Nairaland.
In the end, I wonder where all this lovely 'performance' has led you to. From the most indebted and least sustainable states to the highest incidence of dull students in the South.
This is what happens when a person is too lazy to read beyond the happenings in his enclave.

By the way, how far the light rail? grin

I would say the same if any of them are found culpable in such disgraceful acts, unlike you friggin second class thinkers who think stealing isn't corruption especially when it involves your kinsmen.
Wao.....so you'll wait for that little thing called 'evidence' before believing Fashola, Tinubu, Amaechi etal are rogues but will discard that same 'evidence' when allegations yet to be proven against Tompolo, Jonathan are brought before your table.......once again I say.....Wao!

hmuhammad:
mechonu, Buhari is a retired General that isn't scared of anybody. Just as militant were scared of Abacha's brutality, so they'll be scared of buhuri's. Sanity must be restored in nigeria whether they like it or not.
Then how do you feel when this same SANITY is being carried out with utmost partiality, if Tompolo refuse to turn himself in are you aware that he is justified because what is still amiss with Nigeria line of judgment is, "the bigger and most dangerous thieves (the IBSs, OBJs, Atikus, Tinubus, T.Y Danjumas, Dantatas, Adenugas, etc of this world) had milked us dry, unfortunately, they are the ones calling the shots in this government therefore the insignificant small fries like the 'character' here must be messed up..... What a banana republic Nigeria had been turned into in the name of fighting corruption undecided in saner climes, Amaechi, Fashola, Audu Ogbeh etc had no business being Ministers in a Country poised to fight corruption to a stand still.

Buhari should start with oil bloc cartel dominated by hausafulanikanuri since. After the civil war.
To me these are the real thieves.
They all own estates in Austria, London, Switzerland, Dubai, Finland and most luxury world. Arrest them and let's gats the billion of Dollars stolen since four decades ago till date.

The Bayeros,,, Atiku....Maidaribes...theophilus Danjumas....the Bellos from Niger state, IBB, Abacha Men...Dantatas.... Kaduna Mafias...Akilus... the Gremas....and lots of multibillionaires of crude oil bloc owners from the North.
These are the REAL thieves. Reaping where they did not sow. Collecting crude oil bloc that is not in their lands while impoverished the owners with heavily polluted land and waters.
Buhari should probe Tinubu and Ameachi too!

Leave these militants alone. It's their patrimony as enshrined in human right of indigenous people practice all over the world.

Bring back total sense of belonging. Equality before the King!
You said the whole truth here.....

Bros election violence has all been in the system. Right from the June 12, 1993 mko election. Election violence is like an insurgency, like guerella warefare, it cannot be eliminated. The difference is that while Jonathan and the PDP capitalized on election violence to rig and multiply votes, Buhari's regime has taken the option of cancelling such dirty elections and doing re-runs instead. Which is better for democracy? Tell me.
So the worwor elections conducted, supervised solely by the Funky Mallam, Jega, is now Jonathan's fault abi? Okay continue......
