2. Binis av no link with Easterners or ibos as u put it rather they av a closer relatnshp wit ife dats d yoruba lineage.
3. They neva had igwe. Wat they had was Oba who stil remains.
4. So u no,the Oba z d owner of all d lands in benin. Two benin men wil rather go 2 d king dan go 2 d govt to resolve a land dispute.
5. D binis respect the Oba more than they respect the president of Nig. That z nat d same anywere in Nig. U dont see d king anyhow or anywhere dats y wen Pres. Jonathan came 2 Benim 4 d 1st time,d king did nat come out 2 meet him.

Lol. Nice post...can I copy and paste somewhere else
adonbilivit:
these are words the average Nigerian uses when speaking english on daily basis. i bet most of us think they are really english words while some know they are not but still use them because they have been sort of accepted as correct. they are no longer considered blunders in grammar by Nigerians but if you dare use them during interviews and other corporate activities you are on your own (oyo). here they are:

1. sef: we often use this word in place of "anyway". i hear people say things like "what is it sef"?

2.eiya or heiya: this is used when u feel sorry for someone. for example, if a friend tells you armed rubbers attacked him your response will most likely be "eiya, hope they didn't injure you sha"?

3. sha: as you can see i used it in point 2 above. Nigerians use it in place of the word "though". here is an example; "I am tired but i will still work sha"...i am very much guilty of this point right here. when i use the word "though" most people don't seem to understand me.

4.na: hmmm, i don't even know the english word that can be substituted with this. we tend to use it when we are trying to make something clear to people. here is how we use it:

john: which of them bro?

james: the black one na

5. joor: this one seems to lack a substitute too. it usually portrays some kind of aggression and anger when used. when for instance, a guy is pestering a girl she might say something like "leave me alone joor".

6. shey: this one is used instead of right. it is often applied when asking question. e.g "you saw Aminu yesterday, shey? notice that it took the place of right in the sentence.

I'm currently in Milan Italy for a training(job related). All the while I had been getting along with all my colleagues from other countries around the world.

On wednesday, I got called out while in the middle of a group work presentation.
The lady 'politely' announced to the whole class I had to be excused for a few minutes for 'ebola awareness'.

By the time I came back to class 20minutes later....i had no friend again.

I later complained to the training organisers and the lady came back next day to explain to the class, it was nothing serious, just a little. Chit chat required with all 'ebola countries' participants, but for wier, the harm had already been done.....everybody avoided me, except the Angola and Ghana participants.

The Ebola stigma for Nigeria, is still very much out there.

EducationRe: Are You Coming To Study In UK? Read This Before You Board That Plane by tomiobj(m): 10:14pm On Oct 11, 2014
Go to uk durin winter without a jacket cheesy cheesy cheesy cheesy cheesy cheesy. Lollllll gobe
Seandeeds:
A young man of 18 was coming to the UK for the very first time, to study. He had no family nor friends in the country. That was the very first time he would travel out of his home country. To him, it's like going into the unknown.

When he got here, it was hard for him. He came during winter. He had no jacket. He had no winter boots. He went to go get accommodation in the most expensive part of London. He made several mistakes, after everything, he became broke and frustrated....

This story is similar to what hundreds of students and UK first timers experience. Many people travel to the UK without any knowledge at all of the country.

Again, I heard a guy on the train lamenting the recent changes to UK immigrations laws, particularly, students. He is probably a rookie.

He was busy fuming about how to pay his fees and survive on just 20 hrs a week. I empathise with the guy, to be honest. People on full 40 hrs a week complain, let alone someone on just 20 hrs.

The guy was complaining to his friend, asking him how the government expects him to survive.

Anyways, these things happen. The problem is that some people do not have adequate knowledge about how this country (UK) operates. I just felt I should say a thing or two regarding the cost of living and UK lifestyle (focusing on London).

With a rough idea like this, newbies can be better prepared and know what they are getting into.

Well, for the benefit of those who do not know....As a student, you can only do part time job up to 20 hours a week in term-time (for Tier 4 visas issued to study at degree level or above), and full time during vacations (for a course below Bachelors degree level, you will only be able to work up to 10 hours per week in term time).

University fees range from between £10,000 and £17,300 with these figures, nobody can survive on 20 hrs of work, unless your dad is millionaire. Well, if you are not a rich kid like the writer, you have to be careful and consider the points given below.

Below are about five factors, among others, you should consider be before getting on that plane to the UK.

1) Come with your personal stuff.

I came into the UK during summer. I was told to get just T shirts, jeans and trainers. Stupid me, I gave away all my shirts, trousers and shoes, only to go get some T shirts and all. It's OK.....You can say it, I was an idiot and I paid dearly for that singular stupid act of foolishness.

So please, come with your phones, cloths, shoes and almost all your personal effects. You are gonna seriously need them.

Then please buy a jacket immediately you get here, or you bring one from your home country. Find out from your friends and family or check the internet for the current weather so you know what the weather is like in the UK at the time of your arrival.

TV/MoviesRe: Osuofia Vs Saka: Who Is The Better Comedian? by tomiobj(m): 9:31pm On Oct 11, 2014
I swear down. Av neva erd of osoufia xcept (osuofia in london) I only know saka......is ds an indomie generation thing
Segadem:
…And the people’s verdict:

It’s a tie –Onah Gloria, accountant

I would say it’s partly Saka and partly Osuofia. But Saka has an edge because his face alone is comedy personified. However, put succinctly, Nkem Owo has the words while Saka owns the expression.

Osuofia should rebrand himself – Nenna Okwuani

Osuofia’s acting fortunes are fast dwindling and he should blame himself for that. I don’t understand what he does these days. From poor role interpretation and poor diction, his acting has been generally poor. And I am advising him to try and rebrand himself.

Saka is funnier –Maryrose Ihenetuh, nurse

Saka is funnier. Mere looking at him is enough to make you laugh any day so I consider him as the better comedian.

Osuofia running out of ideas –Adaora Emmanuel

I no longer enjoy Osuofia’s acting these days. He seems to have run out of ideas and I don’t know what is happened to him. His method of role interpretation is now so glaringly flawed that even children notice it. It is said that he no longer works with the official lines in movie script he is given but usually creates his own lines. If that is true, then it’s probably why he overstretches scenes with irrelevant lines. But I have never seen Saka overstretching any scene and bombarding us with irrelevant lines.

Give it to Saka – Desmond Obodoekwe, undergraduate

Judging from their present form, I’ll give it to Saka. But if we should consider Nkem Owo’s past works such as Ikuku, Ukwa, Osuofia In London and the likes, then he is the unarguable winner. But as we speak, the slot should go to Saka.

Saka is more versatile – Jenifer Akaji, sociologist

Saka is the talk of the town now and I think that he has no rivals presently as far as comedy business is concerned; he is more versatile than Nkem Owoh.

Nkem Owo is waning – Bunmi Sikirat, undergraduate

The problem with Nkem Owoh is that he has systematically abandoned the part that made him what he is today. He no longer does those drunken, mischievous and village roles that usually showcases his best. And if you look at Saka, the reverse is the case; he hasn’t derailed from playing those characters that made him the Saka that we see today.

Nkem Owo has no rival – Peter Attama, radiologist

I am a very busy person and barely find time to watch movies. But whenever time permits me, I try not to miss watching films that feature Osuofia. I usually find his films suiting. And I would not hesitate to vote for him rather than Saka if your subject matter demands voting.

Saka is too good –Tunrayo Akinfenwa, student

I have never watched Saka play non-comedy movie roles; he is just too good at interpreting humorous roles. Meanwhile, Nkem Owoh is just as good but I prefer Saka because he is usually more real compared to Nkem Owoh.

Osuofia is a comic guru –Daniel Abiodun, civil servant

Hafiz Oyetoro is a master rib cracker no doubt but whoever watched Osuofia in Ukwa, Ikuku, Kiss Me Quick and most of his early films will attest to the fact that he is a comic guru. Just to share a certain funny experience with you. I was once seriously angered by my wife. And as I was boiling, she sent one of my daughters to slot in one of Osuofia’s newly released films which she had just bought at that time; I think it was Ukwa. And before I knew it I was cracking up in laughter. It was at the end that I remembered that I had issues with my wife.

I prefer Nkem Owoh –Audu Samuel, undergraduate

I barely knew Saka until his popular I don Port advert but I grew up knowing Osuofia. It is true that his old works seem to appear more captivating than the recent ones but he is still good and I still prefer him to Saka.

I like Osuofia – Dickson Abayomi, computer engineer

Everyone knows that Saka is a powerful comedian. He even teaches comedy too. But personally, I prefer Osuofia to Saka; he is a fantastic rib cracker and perfect role interpreter.

Nkem Owoh, ultimate rib-cracker – Gregory James, social worker

Nkerm Owoh is an amazing comedian. For him, humour is part of life as he cracks jokes effortlessly. He has plenty of it in him and only needs to open his mouth and let it pour out. As for me, he is Nigeria’s ultimate rib cracker.

They are both good – Badmus Abdulahi, undergraduate

One thing about Saka and Osuofia is that as far as comedy is concerned, they are both gladiators. The only thing is that while Osuofia is more into home movies, Saka focuses more on television soaps. But one thing they have in common is that they are both stage products. They both started with stage plays and TV series before hitting home movies.

Osuofia is far better – Engineer Nwoye Charles

I have no doubt in my mind that Osuofia still stands tall and imposing among the cream of Nigeria’s comic family; he is just awesome! I have been opportune to witness him anchor events a couple of times and he was always extra-ordinary; I consider him far better than Mr. Oyetoro.

Saka is the one – Adeosun Bamike, undergraduate

Saka is better than Osuofia for now. Moreover, he won my heart when he ported his way to mega success with MTN.

It’s a tie – Ajayi Suleiman, dispatch executive

To me, comparing Saka and Osuofia would be like comparing two different delicious dishes. They are masters in their respective rights but with varied strengths and weaknesses so I would call it a tie. Saka is so good and Osuofia is just as good.

Osuofia is funnier, more mischievous – Obong Modester, banker

My honest view is that I find Osuofia more interesting and mischievous. And he plays his mischief roles so humorously craftily you would be unable to hold back laughter.

Osuofia is a great rib-cracker

– Mathias Chikwelu, businessman

Anyone who knows the stuff that Osuofiason is made of would need no soothsayer to convince him that Osuofia is a superb rib cracker; a great comedian. In fact, he is my number one comedian in the country.

I’ll go for Saka – Ismail Bakare, surveyor

Saka and Osuofia are top rib crackers in Nigeria. And I think that was why MTN adopted both of them as brand ambassadors. But beyond that, I prefer Saka to Osuofia because I find his acting more professional and more enriching.

Osuofia is far better –Nwanyi Sunday, lecturer

You can’t compare Osuofia with Saka. Both are good but Osuofia is way ahead; he is in a world of his own. Saka is more of a jester. Sometimes he makes the whole joke appear childish. But Osuofia always comes natural. Everything about him is comedy. But that is not to say that Saka is not good. What I’m trying to point out is that Osuofia has a very wide and glaring edge over Saka.

Please be kind to share with the class who those "9 ibo" players are.
Do you mean Enyeama from Akwa Ibom, Nosa Igiebor from Edo State, Ogenyi Onazi from Benue, Efe Ambrose from Kaduna or Oboabona from Edo State?
Take it from me: You are a m0r0n.

Now, say thank you cool

Does anyone still have faith in this team?
South Africa just defeated Congo at their away encounter, but this is the same Congolese team that disgraced us at our so called 'slaughter slab'.
Sheer tactical discipline was all it took.

I think we've indulged Keshi long enough. We've excused his arrogance and propensity to antagonize players under the pretext of 'enforcing tactical discipline in our team.'
But as the days carried on, I came to realize it's not our players who are tactically untamed - It's Keshi.
