I studied International relations and History Sir but I'm into ICT and good with basic computer software with experiences in Sales and Customer Service.
Bro sorry to quote you. But I’d give you my own piece, Cos your case is touching. Please don’t get offended and take this as constructive criticism or advice.

Firstly as an IT guy, or even every one has general knowledge of basic softwares. That’s doesn’t sell again. You stated to be into SEO, digital marketing. That’s more of social media influencing type of stuff, which is generally a gamble these days that anyone can dabble into. I don’t know how good you are with photoshop and illustrator but if don’t mind post your Instagram, so we’d see your works.

Back to being an IT guy, your description is vague I’m sorry to say this bro. There’s various fields. As an IT specialist, are you into database management, cyber security, networking, software development, data science, it goes on and on. And the opportunities are limitless, fam. But you can’t be vague. As an IT specialist, what certifications have you taken?

I’d love to engage you in this convo bro.

hello house,
my passport expires in june, and I would have to renew it.
People around me go to Atlanta, but I want to go up north, I read it can be done in DC or New York. I also the pricing, I just want a third opinion on how long it takes, and how stressful the process would be.

Thank you in advance.

Hello , I'm new here . I had an my first F1 interview on Nov 11 and it was delayed . I already booked another date but I need to dot my I's and cross my T's so as not to make the same mistake twice. My interview goes thus
Me-good morning, how do you do today ?
V.O - very well , thank you . Please pass me your passport and i20
Me-( passed them)
V.O-why are you going to the US?
Me- I'm going to the uS for studies, I got admitted into Cleveland state university to study Operations and supply chain management
V.O- when did you finish secondary school?
Me- 2016 (it's actually 2014 but my nerves were everywhere so I just said that)
V.O - (checks his computer for some time ) How many schools did you apply to ?
Me- just Cleveland state University sir
V.O-why just Cleveland state university?
Me-( here's where I think I goofed , I started with talking about the environment of the school before my course and my course curriculum. )
V.O - who's your sponsor?
Me- my dad . He's a major distributor of building materials like iron , roofing sheets , cement
V.O- did you do any standardized test? Like TORFL?
Me- I didn't, as all my past learning was done in English and the school waived the exam for me
V.O- have you travelled before?
Me- no sir , there hasn't been a need to .

He typed for a few minutes then handed me the dreaded blue paper

I was told doing the TOEFl exams would improve my chances but I couldn't get a date for December and my school resumes January 15 . So I booked my visa date again with hope and faith
Please I need help on what to say when asked 'what has changed in your application?' Cause sadly nothing has changed
And how I can make my answers stronger
P.s no other documents was asked
There's nothing to make your answers stronger. Go write SAT and TOEFL.

I used USPS to ship a document 2 weeks ago and it took approximately 5 business days. The NIPOST staff even called the recipient when it arrived. I think they are improving too cos you can now actually track your package both on USPS and NIPOST.
Thank you! smiley

good day house,
does anyone have an experience with using USPS to ship back home to nigeria as against DHL, FedEx, etc
I'm skeptical because I dont know whether NIPOST would be the ones to handle the package when it gets to Nigeria.

Thank you in advance!

Discover credit card is a good one to start with and unlike most other credit card companies, they will approve you for a regular (not secured aka glorified debit card) unsecured credit card native Americans get when they apply through referral. The earlier you start the better for you. Shoot me an email and I can assist you more.
alright, i'd pm you right away.

If you are a student still in status, go for discover student card. They would issue you a credit card and you can start building your credit score with it.
Note: you would need to upload your I-20, utility bill to verify your address, visa and passport page. That's all!

**Modified***

I forgot to add you would also need to upload your SSN card
thank you so much! ive got all that!
id give it a shot.

American Education system is no child's play at all. Abeg our naija university system na just high school jare. Here you would learn a lot about responsibilities from paying bills to building credit scores to working hard and I mean super hard just to stay afloat. Academic competition is even an understatement because if you think you are smart, well here is the best place to exhibit all you have got as you would see a lot of smarter students too, but trust me Nigerians no dey carry last. I get to understand that the categories of Nigerians here are different from the ones back home because here they work hard and end up very successful. Where do I even start from sef. I greet everyone ooo and success to the spring 18 applicants. I will try to stay in touch as much as I can.

Note: apart from the school stress though, America is a very good place to be, it's worth the whole efforts of GRE exams, TOEFL and admission process money we all spent plus the visa hurdle. It's really worth it. You get to have the platform to become whatever you want to be with no restrictions (if you can work hard). It's all about what skills you can offer and not by who you know or where you came from grin
Hi,
Whats the best credit card to get for someone without a credit score and whats the APR rate?
Thank you in advance!

Look for someone in the US you can tell them to send it to and the person can send it to you using USPS tracking, not more than $65.
Cc sanctus1

Not all schools would agree to do that. But if they do, you can go to DHL and order a pickup to save yourself the stress of looking for dollars.
Its just about 20k.

That is a privilege reserved for US citizens, not Nigerians. That "agreement" is funded by taxpayers. You did not contribute to it and should not rely on it. You are required to be able to afford your college costs without needing to work or recourse to government funds. You would not have obtained a visa if you had indicated you were going to study at such a CC. It is therefore dishonest to lie that you're going to a top school and can afford it, only to get into the US and then take the spot of a deserving US citizen in a CC.
Apparently, he got his visa with his CC without "lying".
Get your facts straight before concluding on people's cases, pal.

Frankly i'm not surprised. The VOs are no fools. You are not a genuine student.

I live 2 hours from Harrisburg and have done so for 5 years. Your post was the first time i ever heard that a Harrisburg University exists! shocked ... and that's in the same PA that has Lehigh University, Temple, Penn State, UPenn, LaSalle, DeSales etc. Pick a serious school biko. The VOs know that you're all heading to these schools, not because you truly want to study but because you see them as easy routes to the US. Telling them that you chose the school because they offer unique skills you're interested in learning is a joke. We all know there are at least 10 schools between NJ/PA that offer far more and would be more valuable on your resume.

Here's one thing you may have noticed... you will NEVER find a student applying for a visa to MIT, Harvard, UPenn being denied a visa (especially if they were also offered scholarships).
Sadly, I have to agree with you once on this.
Apparently its looking those one building unis deetus or lagosismyhome always talk about (forgive me if it's neither of you)
