Good morning ALL
Pls is Beginning of your study visit on the booking same as the enrolment deadline?
How about cases where enrolment is done from Nigeria after given a short time (2 weeks) to enrol without your presence.
Is the Beginning of your study visit your semester (lecture) commencement date or can someone shed more on this

I want to book and still awaiting AL from Leibniz University of Hannover and TU Berlin. Though I have got a conditional AL from Karlsruhe

I need these dates from anyone that have AL or studying in these schools

I went to zenith bank and Polaris Bank to make inquiry about form A for block account , I was told is only possible for school fees and not direct to student account (block account),

What rate did they tell you? thats one of the contending issues.

If the rate is low as stated here, there must be a way out. This is because form A is not only for fees. We will surely argue this out

Please let the findings keep coming in. If naa this we wan chop small of the national cake, no wahala cos what we will save is worth it

Form A discussions.
Get it clear. All these banks are in business. CBN rate is definitely not aboki rate.
All banks do these Form A thing. And they source forex from CBN and Co. They will tell u the rates per day. Ofcos all banks can pay school fees and transfer monies using Form A. The rate won't be aboki rate.
But the thing is, when jungle mature, they will tell u forex is scarce and that there is a waiting list of plenty customers. So if u can wait, (it can be endless), it can be done. These are realities in banks.
But ofcos if u are in the category of wanting it urgently, u can open your dom account, buy from aboki, fund your dom, and the bank moves it to Germany for u.
So, do people truly get these low rates from banks, True. All na function of time.
But I can bet u, the majority go thru aboki
Am sure experienced guys on the platform have explained these transactions very well here.

Thats good. Though the peak period when people wait in que is normally august and sept. Also there are banks that have much allocation(Find out) I only know of Zenith.
Please before using Form A if it works, TRY AND CHECK YOUR DEADLINES OOOH. It will be very fine especially when you have AM, have booked for interview and waiting

See Ehn... They will tell you it's that rate, but when the time comes it's a different story. Some banks will even put it on their boards at 345 but will never do the transfer at that rate.... Hope yours is different. All the best
SHALOM

Try help us find out cos it will help us all. Form A is a CBN thing unles its other means you use. Like I said, someone raised this yesterday and I tried to confirm from zenith bank. Pls try and make your own findings as this will help us all

please I have a question did they mention anything concerning bank charges?

Thank you and please try and make your findings too lets all be sure. Like i said I asked and was told this

For you to use Form A, you must have the money deposited in your account with which ever bank you want to use. They will always ask you to make the fund in account higher because of the currencies fluctuate

Let me also add, form A is used for invisible trades usually school fees payment. Invoice should be generated by the school and payment is made directly to the school account. But the payment to block account is neither school fees nor the invoice generated by a school. So unless someone has done this before we need to be very sure before proceeding. Most of the people you meet at the branches might not give you the full details or maybe we are not asking the right questions, until you send your documents and they reject it from their head office. I might not be 100% right but this is the bit I know about form A

As you said, its am invisible payment and it doesn't include school fees alone. There are more to using Form A means, of subsistence, medical bills etc. One can use form A for means of subsitence while studying and thats where block account may come in. One of the main criteria is AM, the second is an Invoice showing the amount of money which the Student visa check list has and even some AM or Enrollment form have it stated. The next is the bank details of the recipeint and here your BA.

Form A actually a means of subsidising these payment for Nigerians. Its a CBN thing and not just banks. The bank use your money in your account and bid at CBN with the required documents. When successfull CBN exchange the cash at a given rate(official) and the bank can then makethe transfer and charge you

Form A gets slow during peak periods as in August, Sept when there is rush.

The issue was raised yesterday and i deemed it fit to also find out. Like i said everybody should try and find out themselves from different banks and not relying on what one person get.

I believe if its possible and ok it will be beneficially to us all

Good morning to you all. Please concerning the use of Form A that was raised yesterday, I travelled to Bayelsa and made enquiries from Zenith bank and was told the CBN rate using form A is 342.3581 per Euro.

Please can someone also confirm from any zenith bank or other banks. The different will go along way to reduce cost(403 - 343) = 60*8,640 = NGN 518,400. i.e 1,286 Euros

I strongly belive we can fund our BA using Form A since its not peak period. All we need to do is find out the avereage processing time with CBN and check if ok with your TIME. Max of 2weeks should be enough to get this done(which is worth it)

Lets hear your findings.....

Good days brothers in d house, I apply for a MSC Material science , without proper assessment of the course in Jena .the course is a full German taught course and I was offered the admission. Seriously I don't know what to do.
Actual still waiting for admission from other schools

A full taught German course should B1 OR B2 if not above lanugauge requirement as admission criteria for international students. Did you fulfill this or how did you gain the admission?

If you aren't ok with that, you just have to wait for the other schools. Subsequently please always learn to do proper research and ask question where/when needed. Thats why I dont get upset with some of the question I see here cos no man is an island of knowledge

Please can you kindly break it down for me. As regards to this form A and the transfer method. I would like to know every detail, the process involved, the cost(bank charges) etcetera. kiss

FORM A
Go to your bank and request to do transfer for your upkeep using Form A. Find out the following 1. requirements which i believe you have, 2. the rate they use and charges for the transfer 3. The entire duration(getting the fund from CBN and transfering.

TRANSFER
You must open or have a domicilary account with the bank either euro or dollar. If dollar, there is a converstion and in this case make sure you ask or you transfer above the amount u wanted to. If Euro its staight transfer.
Go to aboki and negotiate either dollar or euro that you want to use. euro sholud be 400 in PH since its much.

Pls and Pls don not carry cash to them. MAKE ALL your transction in the bank (Account to Account) He transfer the cash to you and you transfer the equivalent to him. Make sure you ask the bank charges for your transfer

Compare this two methods and see the best for you

You should know that form A takes a longer time and it's almost the same rate as Buying euro from an aboki but u can try each one out and choose which one works best for you
.

Foreign currency is not scarce now. Its towards August/sept that you have scarcity. But like I said, He should ask questions and compare. Ask question from the bank as the Rate, duration, all charges using Form A and funding your account and transfer. With this he could know the best option having in mind other factors(interview or resumption dates)

Hello sir, CBN’s Rate does not apply to Form A. If he’s using that option, then he’s going to have to pay the bank’s rate, which is currently higher than parallel market rate. Best advise is to source for own euros and make a transfer to his block account.

Any way I cant really tell now, but asked my bank and was told that will be the cheapest. Please let him still ask and compare as i adviced

Thanks for this, I will have to find out more on this

Hello family please what's the cheapest way to transfer money to block account, I need to transfer 8829€, I called fidelity bank I was told their exchange rate is 432 . Which is on a very high side (I. e 432 x 8829 = 3,814,128naira) excluding service charges. Oh my goodness where will I get such

Have you tried the optiion of form A? using CBN official rate

Go to your bank and tell them you want transfer money for your school. They will ask you of some basic documents such as Admission Letter, the stated fee(you can use the Visa check list where it 8,640 is stated and ur AL where u have ur semester contribution stated), Beneficially bank details, passport data page. Please go with all neccesary documents u used in opening the BA
The money will be lodge in your account while they bid for Euro from CBN. After getting the euro, they will send it to the account.

I have not done it but i asked from standard Chartered bank and they told me its possible.

You can also get Euro for 400 as said, but do a trial for the Form A and compare

For you to buy Euro from aboki, you must have a domicilary (euro) account with bank. Most banks dont open Euro account as they convert from dollar to euro during the transfer. In that case, do well to transfer above the amount you want to send cos the rate fluctautes. There are few that open Euro account find out cos it will be straight forward

Best Wishes

All applicants who fulfill one of the following criteria can register with the “A - list”:

holding a TestAS certificate with a standard score of 100 - 130
holding a very good B-1 language certificate from the Goethe Institute (90 points and more) or
holding a good B-2 language certificate from the Goethe Institute (80 points or more) or
holding a bachelor's degree with a grade of 1. Class - 2. Lower Class and being accepted for a master's degree (also a DSH course-related admission to the master's program) or PhD study in Germany or

holding a signed “Aufnahmevereinbarung” / hosting agreement concerning your research fellowship with a university or research institute accepted by the “BAMF”

Important! One of those criteria you need to proof at your appointment in the Consulate. If you have applied for a priority appointment on the A-list without being able to proof any of these criterias, the application will be rejected immediately and without any further examination.

Please House from the above, is Scholarship a requirement?

This A fit be the anwers oooh.

holding a bachelor's degree with a grade of 1. Class - 2. Lower Class and being accepted for a master's degree (also a DSH course-related admission to the master's program) or PhD study in Germany or

I want to critically look into this whole A or B bruhaha. Lets breakdown the long sentence.

The Conditions are

You can apply for A if

1. You must Hold a bachelor's degree with

Grade of 1st Class

2. Lower Class

2. You must be admitted into

a. Master's Degree

b. Peolple that have admission for Master which uses a DSH can also apply

c. PhD Degree

The only confusing point from all the whole discussion is "The Fact that you must Choose the Scholarship Option to continue registering with CAT A"

Note
Those that have good grade in their German Laguage can apply for Bachelor's degree using A

I will tell you guys whats wrong with that "Scholarship"
clause wey dey cause confusion for people to register with A
