Hmmmmmmm. Apart from the descerning investors, all others were caught unawares in last Wednesday Treasury Bills Auction. A lot of banks got their bids but most of them bidded low compared with the stop rates because they could not see the increase coming. The signs were there but only the descerning investors could see it. The CBN before the auction indicated that they were going to offer far more than the maturing bills for the 91-day tenor. The maturing amount was about N4billion but CBN offered N24billion while reducing the 182-day tenor and offering the same maturing amount for the 364-day tenor which also indicated that they needed to borrow more from the market than previous auctions but banks that were not skillful enough in Treasury Bills failed to seize that opportunity to increase their bid rate and at the end of the day, they got the low bids they asked for while the discerning ones got close to the stop rates. That's why it's always better to go with the banks that mostly get their bids close to CBN stop rates like Stambic, First Bank and GTB. while some banks got their bids through at about 10.8%-11.5%, the descerning ones got theirs at between 12.5 & the stop rate of 13% for the 364-day tenor and some customers who do not understand think that they were short changed ![]() See the attachment below:

Newway2:Hmmmmmmm. That's what I use for Diarrhoea/stooling/running stomach. It's highly effective and I strongly believe that it will equally stop the stooling in Cholera patients. I make sure it's ALWAYS at home already grounded into powdered form. |
dyemida:What's the location and size of the Pig farm cum facilities available at the farm first? |
TONY56:I just got my credit alert now at 13:45hrs |
Very unlike Stambic, my matured NTB-the very first transaction for this year 2018 has dropped into my account as 13:37pm. Stambic used to credit accounts on or before 12noon. Has anyone been credited today? |
femu:What are they and how are they applied please? |

Izuogu1:Are you in Lagos? Do you deliver to farms? What's Okpa and what's it's other names like English name? Let's know how you sell (per kg or per 50kg or per Ton) and prices. When you provide these informations, some other people may also be interested |
Good morning members. Please can anyone link me with suppliers or sellers of CADBURY & NESTLÉ wastes like Cerelac milk waste; Bournvita waste; Nestlé Spent grains; Soya Shaft etc. If you know of those who sell or supply the item above, PLEASE assit |
SinaAkinsanya:Do you have weaners for sale now? Where are you located and how do I contact you? |
omode2:Well said brother. My additive is just to say that sellers should be very diplomatic in the way they respond to their customers expecially on a forum like this as the way a situation like this is handled especially by the seller can make or Mar the seller's reputation generally. It's true that we were not there when their deal was struck but since it's now in the open, those who have heard including those who will read about the fued later will be interested in the way it is handled by the seller as the buyer has nothing to lose again. There was a "quarrel" sometimes ago on this platform between a lady and Dejia about two yrs ago and Dejia handled the situation so perfectly well and at the end of the day, the lady came back to this forum to apologise to Dejia for accusing him wtongly and was also full of praise for him because it was just a misunderstanding that was later resolved and up till today, Dejia is one of the most respected pig farmer/ seller on this forum-that's how to handle a conflict. |
@Victorfada. Let me start from you if you will oblige. Can you share informations about the contacts of the farm you later bought your pure breeds that you are now happy with? If you will, I can be reached on tugbiyeley_not@yahoo.com or publicly on this forum. Or let me know how I can reach you via mail or phone. Thanks |
Victorfada:I am really suprised to read all you have said about the farm. In fact, I don't really know what to say again when you claimed that the breed you had that are not pure breeds were even doing better than the "pure breeds" while feeding them mainly with maize and soya beans. I don't know the owner of the farm nor where the farm that claims to have about 3,000 pigs is but if what you have written about the farm is true and correct, then it's very very unfortunate. I thought the man being accused of selling runts in the name of pure breeds would have come up with a rejoinder to address the issues raised but it's almost a week now (4days) and nothing has been heard from him. However, as I wrote before, it's better for those of us who are not experienced enough to identify what we really want to get an experienced farmer to assist us and those who have been patronising good and honest pig farmers should equally let others know of the good pigs purchased from them including their names and contacts to avoid this types of painful experience (if true). Alternatively, intending buyers can ask of anyone who has had dealings with or can vouch for a pig farmer he intends to patronise with such people recommending or advising against such people through a phone no or WhatsApp privately. Although I am not in a position to confirm the authenticity or otherwise of @Victorfada''s claims but I am sure that there are very dishonest pig farmers on this thread who are really out to defraud unsuspecting people. So we should really shine our eyes. There are also some who act as agents and increase the actual cost of exotic pigs above the seller's price and gets the difference from the owner after you would have paid. Such people will always insist on taking you to the farmer instead of giving you their contacts for you to negotiate directly. Sometimes they always want to know the day you will visit the farm if they are not going to follow you there. So beware |
Can anyone on this tread link me with where I can get Animal care products around Ikorodu axis or around Gberigbe in Ikorodu. My farm is in Gberigbe-Ikorodu. Thanks in anticipation of your assistance |
Victorfada:If I may ask, how much were the "pure breeds" sold to you and what were their types and weights? Also what are your actual complaints about the breeds you bought from him? |
Victorfada:Hmmmmmmmmmmm. This is a very serious allegation o. All I know is that anyone who deceives others to sell runts as pure breeds to unsuspecting pig farmers shall NEVER prosper and it's just a matter of time that they will be exposed and put to shame and at the end of the day, they won't be able to deceive more people after their exposures. Simply because you want to make money, you then sell fake pigs as pure breeds to people because it's difficult to really identify the pure ones? If the buyers don't know, don't forget that God sees you and will punish you for it at His own time and it shall be a devastating punishment. I am not in a position to verify your claims above but if it's true, God will surely fight for you and others that may have been so cheated by any pig farmer. Generally, we should all strive very hard to find out and confirm the authenticity of claims by any pig farmer of stock of these so called pure breeds. Ask those who may have bought from the same farm before you and if possible, pay a very experienced pig farmer to help you confirm before you pay. Also, I am suggesting that pig farmers get contacts of their customers who buy "pure breeds" from them and give their contacts to prospective buyers for reference and confirmation of their claims. Also, you can let members on this forum know that you intend to buy from a particular farmer and beg members to let you know of their previous encounter with farmer as a pm chat. May the Lord continue to expose and disgrace the black sheep(s) among us. |

NL1960:You see, that's the result of greed. I guess he didn't know just like me too that the capital Base is N20m. Moreover, they have not and will never tell him that they won't pay. They keep telling him that they have constraints and that they will pay. Maybe he too has suddenly realised that he shouldn't have placed such huge amount in a N20m capital based bank. He was rolling over and collecting interest for about 3yrs and at about 25%. The last he told me was that he would approach them to keep paying his interests so that with time, he would be able to recoup his principal. I hope they will even be in a position to pay interest now. I guess maybe there's nothing the CBN can do to help him out especially since you say that their capital base is N20m. If a bank is distressed and as a result, can't even pay you the amount you desire even in a savings account, is there anything CBN can do to force them to pay what they don't have? It has been repeated here times without numbers that "the higher the interest, the higher the risks" but people who are greedy would not listen until they witness it. I simply laughed when someone said Skye wants to pay 13% for Fixed deposit. Yes, they can pay what Stambic, First, Zenith, GT and other 1st tier banks can't pay because they are standing just on one leg and they know that should they fall, they will fall with their customers and nothing will happen other than the NDIC paying everyone same paltry amount that is guaranteed by law. I doubt if any 1st tier an can pay 10% |
michellez:Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. Please! Please!! & Please!!! Be very very careful about investing your funds in Micro Finance Banks. It's actually true that you can get 20% for N5m or over BUT you MAY not get your money back at the expiration. Usually, they come begging you to role over at expiration and if you insist that you must have your money back, then they start telling you stories and give you promises. If at all you will get something back from them, you will be lucky to get only a fraction of your investment and you will be asked to convert whatever you're owed to own share in the company or their board as non sitting director. This is what a stubborn friend of mine is going through for over 3yrs now and they are owing him over N50m. So shine your eyes before you leap o and avoid unnecessary suicide because of greed expecially if the money is not yours. The good thing I know is that you won't come back to tell us here if and when you get your fingers burnt. Usually, some of them would pay you once or twice to lure you and later come out in their true colours. |
freeman67:All these are happening because the investments were done with First Bank. That's one of the reasons I stick to my darling Stambic. There's no roll over with them and no reinvestement of upfront profit. So nobody will tell me that my money was rolled over or that my interest was mistakenly reinvested. I am also aware that some investors too don't like Stambic cause of the very reason why I like them. ![]() "One man's meat is another man's poision" |
dejiotus:Please don't mind the officer. It's actually in their form that you may dictate your own rate and it's a ploy to prevent you from buying Treasury Bills and keep your money in their Savings or Fixed deposit as they will come to tell you after the bidding that your bid was rejected because it was less than N50m. He is probably your account officer or in collusion with him to avoid his deposit target from being depleted. At any rate you may use yours as a test case and bid 11.8% for 364days tenor; 11.5% for 182daya tenor & 10.8% for 91days tenor. But be sure to get back to us after the results of your bids. |
rationalmind:I for one will never opt for fixed deposit cause of the possible risk and the fact that there's no upfront or discounted rate coupled with the fact that whatever interest they pay is subject to being taxed by Government. I have friends who were not able to access all their funds at the expiration of their termed fixes deposits cause their bank's were telling them stories and pleading to them to roll over. That's just me for you ![]() |
bablowizad:This to me is not a good offer at all. I guess the banks are really capitalising on the fact that too many people are running after the longest tenor now that has resulted to over 1600% oversubscription in the last auction to exploit their customers. The last stop rate was about 12% and the next auction and even up to end of this quarter MAY not get as low as 10% at the primary market for 364days tenor. So, they are simply exploiting the situation or arguing that it's caused by law of demand and supply. If the secondary market continues to be poor like this, then my advice is for people to go for 182days since it's now easier to get 182days than 364days. |
lancee: ![]() What else do you expect? That's how it is. People better lock their money into wherever they can get between 11% & 12.5% for between 280 & 360days tenor now. Else they come back here maybe by June or July to say "had I know". That's why a lot of people who understands are trying seriously to get 364days tenor at the primary market despite its "fantastically fantastic" over subscription of over 1600%. They all know what they are doing and most of the individuals are also keeping their eyes on the secondary market for the longest tenors possible if they are not successful at the primary market-that's the strategy. |
Can you imagine today's NTB bid for 364days tenor? A whopping 1626% over subscription!!! That's a pointer to what to expect In 2weeks time as more people are trying to lock their money into the longest tenor before it gets to 10% or lower coupled with the dwindling amount made available by CBN. This is definitely going to force the rates down faster than I even envisaged. |
I am not suprised cause I saw it coming since January and said so. |
ImperialCovfefe:Hmmmmmmmmmm. We are gradually sliding towards the 10% mark with 91days tenor already at 10.9%. I hope we won't get there by July this year. All the same, it's still a lot better than savings and fix deposit rates. That's my consolation. |

eniorisha: ![]() Do you think he is happy that you want to take the money away from his bank and invest with Fed Government? You simply played into his hands and you have given him "an open cheque" . It's been said severally on this tread that it's not advisable to involve your account officer whenever you want to go for NTB. You move to any branch of your bank and simply ask for the Treasury Bills officer there and ask for the available tenors without his knowledge and invest.. Well, you are now learning some of their antics now |
