Politics › Re: 7 PDP Governors In Private Meeting With APC For Buhari , Says Okorocha by tonychristopher: 9:27am On Mar 10, 2015 |
who takes Rochas and APC serious these days? Anyway dream is free and actualization is expensive APC bunch of confused goons jcflex: Governor of Imo state,Rochas Okorocha says that seven governors from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) are in private meeting with the leadership of the All Progressive Congress, APC,to garner support for the emergence of General Muhammadu Buhari as the next president of the country.
Okorocha spoke at the APC Rally in Mile 2 area of Lagos, Southwest Nigeria on Monday where thousands of party faithful throng to show support for Buhari and Akinwunmi Ambode as Governor of Lagos state.
He said the seven PDP governors were already in Lagos to hold a private meeting with the APC, but he did not disclose the identity of the governors.
“General Muhammadu Buhari’ s (GMB) victory has been sealed and delivered.Today (Monday) about seven governors who are not APC are coming to hold meeting with us privately.
“There is fear in the country. And the fear was that they know that GMB is a good man and he will win. And they know that once INEC announces GMB as the winner of the presidential election, all the bad people who are embezzling the country’s fund will leave the country at night.
“The fear of Buhari is the beginning ofstoppage of corruption.Do you know that before in this country, Nigerians do urinate on the road? But when Buhari assumed power in 1983,it all stopped. And he also stopped corruption, ” he stated.
Okorocha also said the PDP is already a dead party, saying that the party died immediately APC was formed .“We scheduled the burial of the party for February 14th but they postponed the burial to March 28.We are waiting patiently to bury the party forever. But let me tell you that you can change the date of burial but you cannot change the burial. It must take place. May the soul of PDP rest in peace, ” he said.
“The worst thing that can happen to any nation is to have a bad government. And the worst thing that can happen to any family is to have a bad father . Today, it is obvious that PDP is a bad government. And we thank God that we came together to change the bad government. And the change we came together for has started.
Okorocha wooed the Igbo community to vote massively for the candidacy of Ambode as he is the chosen one. “I am in Lagos for one man, and that is for Ambode. He is a good man. And he will not deceive you. He has a caring heart. He loves everyone. All tribes in Lagos will be safe in his hands. And this is one man that can start and continue what Fashola started.
“Lagos today has improved and he is handing over the mantle of leadership to a man that will continue the geometric progression that has been witnessed in Lagos, ” he said.
Speaking at the rally,Governor Babatunde Fashola said he wanted Lagosians to give him a gift by voting massively for Ambode, saying that his administration had greatly improved the facilities in FESTAC and Amuwo Odofin Local Government.
He urged Lagosians not to sell their Permanent Voters Card, PVCs for any reason as that represented their power to remove a bad government.
In his remark, Ambode assured the people of Amuwo Odofin that he would complete the Light Rail project and the expansion of Mile 2-Badagry Expressway which Fashola had started.
Also at the campaign rally was the National leader of the APC, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu who described the government of Jonathan as a corrupt one which must be changed.

According to material I consulted, the black kite (a species widespread in Nigeria and other African countries) besides looking very much like 'egbe' also exhibit typical egbe behavioural traits.
For example the black kites are attracted to smokes and fires, and will often be seen hovering over fires. This is a classic 'egbe' characteristic. Our ancestors even made a how-and-why story explaining why 'egbe' are attracted to fires.
I don't know who are making the dictionaries and who translate for Google and whether they are qualified to do so. But my own observations have led me to think they are probably wrong.
Besides I respect Achebe's opinion in these matters. And he thought kite was egbe. |

Eke40seven: That's wrong. Foxes are found in Africa and even Nigeria. Some of them are exclusively found only in Africa. These species include, The bat eared fox (east and southern Africa) and Fennec fox (sahara and north Africa) and the pale fox (Sahel and sometimes savanna belt of Africa, where parts of Nigeria fall in)
There are wolfs that are native to Africa too. Like the Ethiopian wolf and Egyptian wolf...It is possible that wolf existed in Nigeria too. There is a popular name in Yoruba, "Ajanlekoko"...meaning "Dog chases the wolf". nna, i talk with authority, those that know me here know that i make statement and support it with facts. Wolfs and Racoon are not found in Africa and the only one found in africa is in ethipoia and it is in isolation and Igboland is very far from Abyysnia or Ethipoia and we cant have a name for wolf nor racoon pls read this remember we have many canine family animals like Black-backed jackal (Canis mesomelas),Fennec fox (Vulpes zerda),Dhole (Cuon alpinus),Golden jackal (Canis aureus) mind you all these are Nkita ohia or you can call them edi The Ethiopian wolf is also known as the Abyssinian wolf, Abyssinian fox, red jackal, Simien fox and Simien jackal. It is one of the most threatened canids in the world and the only wolf species to be found in Africa. HOW ARE ETHIOPIAN WOLVES CLASSIFIED? Living things can be organised into different groups. Species that are alike are grouped together. This is called classification. Class: Mammals Order: Carnivores Family: Canids Species: Canis simensis ETHIOPIAN WOLVES ARE SPECIAL Ethiopian wolves have long legs and a long, pointed muzzle and weigh between 11 and 19kg. They are a distinctive bright tawny red in colour with paler under parts and a black bushy tail. During the breeding season and pregnancy the female will turn a paler, more golden colour. There are thought to be fewer than 500 Ethiopian wolves remaining. DISTRIBUTION The Ethiopian wolf is confined to seven isolated subpopulations in different mountain ranges of the Ethiopian highlands, at altitudes above 3000m. More than half of the population lives in the Bale Mountains. Map showing distribution of the Ethiopian Wolf http://www.bornfree.org.uk/animals/ethiopian-wolves/facts/ |

bigfrancis21: @bold...there's actually nothing like 'more igbo' terms. 'enya', 'enye' and 'anya' are merely dialect variations of the same word just as we have humour/humor, flavour/flavor, doughnut/donut, Anaemia/Anemia in British and American Englishes. 'Igbo' is a generic word used to refer to any bia-speaking group that speaks an Igboid dialect as first language. No clan speaks 'Igbo'. If everybody is to go individually, then you would have people speaking 'Owerri language' and not 'Igbo' (after all it is owerri language they are speaking and it is different from what you call 'Igbo' which is central Igbo made up from several Igbo dialects), 'Awka language', 'Nkanu language', 'Ohaozara language', 'Ngwa language', 'Idemili language', 'Onitsha language' etc. Among people who identify as Igbo, they recognize there are numerous Igbo dialects under the 'Igbo' umbrella, hence when they hear a speaker speak, they identify him/her as from 'Onicha', 'Owerri', 'Nnewi', 'Awka', or 'Etche' part of greater Igboland, same way for Ika or Ukwuani or Ikwerre. There is a difference between 'dialect' and 'language'. Dialects are merely variations of the same language. Meanwhile, two spoken speeches can be called languages (different from each other) when there is, at least, 95% incoherence between both speeches. Thus, French and English are 2 different languages but Nigerian English and Ghanaian English are merely dialects of the same language, English.
In the past, and till today, bia-speaking Igbo clans didn't and still don't have a colonialist mentality to colonize others and impose their language on others. Rather, as a community, family unit or village grew in numbers and expanded, some members left to uninhabited areas to establish themselves, carrying with them the parent dialect, which became modified in certain words with time, to create a different sub-dialect of the original one. Thus, any bia-speaking person today who speaks an Ibo dialect as first language is authentically Igbo. His forefather wasn't forced nor oppressed into speaking the language, but was born by birth into the language, which was in turn passed down generation to generation and to the modern-day speaker.
This is not to start a 'Ukwuani are Igbo vs Ukwuani not Igbo debate', but I thought I'd give you a linguistic view of the issue and why researchers and authors still continue to classify 'Ukwuani' as an Igbo dialect despite some Ukwuani refusing to acknowledge they speak an Igbo dialect and are under the 'Igbo' umbrella, by linguistic terms. |

Skako: That the respected Ooni of Ife, Oba Okunade Sijuwade is a fashionista might be stating the obvious. He has a unique way of dressing with flamboyance and panache. As the monarch is getting old, many would have thought his fashion sense might slow down, but this may not be the case after all. Pictures emanating from the meeting of some monarchs with President Goodluck Jonathan recently has revealed the Ooni in another light. Oba Sijuwade was spotted wearing colorful nail polish to conform with his attire’s shade of colors. Your comments are welcome

It is UKWUANI AND DUE TO THE SINGULAR FACT THAT THE WHITE COULDNT PRONOUNCE THE UKWUANI THE ANGLIZIED IT TO KWALE JUST THE SAME WAY THE WHITES COUNDNT PRONOUNCE ENUGWU THE CALLED IT ENUGU IN ENGLISH THERE IS NOTHING LIKE gb, ch, kw,sh, etc...if you did english you will understand this IGBUZOR BUT OYIBO NO FIT CALL "GB" THEY SAID IBUSA AND THESE NAMES STUCK, WE AFRICAN SHOULD START CORRECTING THESE MISTAKES Kwale is not a town, it is ukwuani that is a town in Ndokwa or ukwuani there is nothing like kwale local government but we have Ukwuani Local Government Area Pls try to grow up dear, ukwuani is not language but a dialect, you should do research before you talk in public. these names are misplelt names ny whites and it is left for us to correct it. Ukwuani Local Government Area Obiaruku is the headquarters of Ukwuani LGA which was carved out of the then Ndokwa West LGA on the 4th of December, 1996 and has an area of 2,016 square kilometres. Nine clans make up the LGA namely; Akoku, Amai, Ebedei, Eziokpor, Ezionum, Obiaruku, Umuebu, Umukwata and Umutu. Together they make up the ten wards of the LGA with a population of about 103,000 going by the 1991 census. The people practice gerontocracy, were the oldest man is installed the traditional ruler, designated Okpala-Uku. The people are a mono linguistic group-the Ukwuanis (an Igbo dialect). http://www.deltastate.com.ng/Local-Government/ukwuani-local-government.html |
