literarymathy, you have your story all stolen from my people the itsekiri. i'm itsekiri from koko and firstly, warri is not indigenously your town. the name "warri" is a corrupted form of a word in itsekiri "IWERE", meaning it's the way it is, translated literarily. you called other towns like sapele and a couple others and claim them for the urhobos, but incidentally, history tells us that sapele is an itsekiri town which was a hub for economic activity with the early itsekiri traders who traded with the west and who employed urhobo workers as slaves. and sapele was given up as a bargaining chip by Nanna Olomu to make peace with a warlord because of a breach in terms of agreement for a certain battle price. the soup which you made mention of "owo" is an itsekiri soup and owo is actually a borrowed word from us mister... i can pick out a myriad of false claims which i won't acquiesce to. warri is the ancestral home of the itsekiri people and we only conceded territory to your people because you have a healthy population there due to your high rate of proliferation, and your persistent clamouring for a stake in the city. well, i can understand where you are coming from because the urhobos and ijaw people have been slaves to us for too long and are out against us trying to carry out a vendetta, but it's not really the answer to anything. and you didn't mention the native attire which i saw in your pictures showing you wearing our "kemeje", would you say that that is indigenously yours too? and to stake more leverage on what i've said so far, we are a singular tribe without mixed dialects, probably the only tribe in nigeria which speak a singular dialect and who have just one singular king and not multiple kings. we have chiefs who report to our king, the Olu of Warri. so there are a lot of flaws and false claims about your heritage which i vehemently dispute. also, we have had a long running history with the benin people and our monarchs are intertwined with each other and we've both been the main custodians of the southern region of nigeria from the days when our history was been written. it's really not fair making erroneous remarks and statements because people who don't know the truth would be misled and made to think that this you've put up there is the case, whereas it's not. so please kindly do yourself a favour and get to know your history and people and don't get it mixed up.

Fashola was a man I respected so much and I like him a lot. But he lost it the day he deported NIGERIANS within the nigerian state claiming they are destitute. Fashola, a legal luminary who knows the law and with all his SAN violated the fundamental human right of NIGERIANS and was never repentant about it even when he was criticized by the public.

What's more grave? Dropping off these people on the middle of the night was above board. What if something bad happened to these people? I think that those deported whether IGBO or not deserve more an an apology from the state government because it is a gross and callous violation of the fundamental human right of a nigerian. Whether rich or poor, NIGERIANS are free to live anywhere they so wish to live.

If Fashola can do this to NIGERIANS how do you expect other countries to treat NIGERIANS in their country.

Somehow........ishan language is quite different from benin about 40% similar....though,isoko language is 80% similar to urhobo ...just as urhobo is 60% of combination of benin,ishan and afemai languages of edo

However the real question is who's the oldest and who has more influence.? However, the itsekiris claim warri to be their traditional home. Urhobos and Ijaws do not agree. I will resolve this in a post worthy of being in the front page tomorrow.

This Issue had been source if Ethnic problem for decades,on Paper there is no such thing as Olu of warri rather the Olu of Itshekiri,its hard to change this name calling on street so this will take time.The history as to the ownership of warri si clearly stated in some online Blog, would try and get you reference if i could, the core warri is largely owned by the Urhobos.I don't want to derail this page so I suggest you wait or rather look for a page on NL that is dedicated to that resolve.

You dey mind them? The Urhobos are the originators of DEV (DEVE) popularly called developmet that has spread all over the country. Their youths as well as the earlderly are highly indesciple and lazy. The Urhobo youths can beat up a senior man/woman of their grand parents age. Very desrespectiful people.They do not like working. They move about through all the corners of the towns abi cities in Delta, especially in Warri, looking for any person who is developing any landed property and within the shortest time, they can injure and even kill if you question them as to why you will pay them money for erecting a personal building etc. while the Ijaws are busy orgnising evil in the riverine. BTW, from which state did kidnapping and sea pirates started from? This has made Warri highly backward.They are the most cunny class of people in the Nigeria. They are the only people you can never trust. They organise many robbery cases in Delta state. There is no way you can plan with an Urhobo man and get a true result as agreed. They are worst than the tortose. Very crookish and highly unrealiable class of people.
The first robbery cases in Nigeria were recorded in Urhobo land. You have individual like Chief Omoko, you have Mosheshe who dealt with the first europeans, who visited Nigeria on trade missions. You also have have Edewor and many others who are very wealthy who formed partnership with the whites in trade mission and organise against them and drive them back home land and take over all the investments. Small boys, what do you of the Urhobos? All these are true stories because I worked there for many years before I left

Arising from an emergency meeting of party stalwarts in the wee hours of today, the APC has denounced the postponement of the Feb 14 polls saying that ''the PDP and INEC were acting out a well-rehearsed script written in Aso Rock.'' According to the party, the rescheduled elections, if indeed it holds, will lack credibility and will only rubber stamp the continuity of Jonathan's government. The APC insists on February 14 as sacrosanct and will not be a party to any change that will set the nation ablaze.

The decision has therefore been taken to boycott the elections in its entirety and leave Jonathan and the PDP to perpetuate itself in power, bringing the nation to its knees. Although it is not clear yet, which of the elections it wants to boycott. The party has calls on other parties to boycott the rescheduled polls. Details are still sketchy, but there are strong indications that a parallel government is being considered.
