buJu234: U re welcome...
from my understanding... If u re talking abt Garage Opp. Cementary road; then I have to break it down alittle bit..
from Garage towards cemetary road upward to stadium via some part of Iyara to kpessu river fully belong to Itsekiri (u will find a large no. of their population there) while from Garage to Igbudu mkt to GKS to MC demort rd belong to Agbassa Urhobo clan.
Ekpan Refinery belong to Uwie/Effurun (aka I go die community.. ) while the back of the refinery which is Ubeji it belong to Itsekiri.
For the Ijaws theirs is mainly the deep waters/swamp communities of warri. I must be honest with you...we are seeing this from the same telescope. when they debate who owns warri...i know it is more of an urhobo thing..due to the langauge. Megwo is widely spoken there and the pidgin english...the sing song version which is spoken in warri is urhobo, because urhobo language is sing son. I love that pidgin, it make me laugh,i am losing my warri pidgin, i Miss pesu waterside, those fish 50 - 60% of warri seems to be urhobo BUT I WILL WANT TO ASK, DOES URHOBO HAVE AN OFFSHORE TERRITORIES LIKE THE IJAWS AND ITSHEKE PEOPLE? |

For the Ijaws theirs is mainly the deep waters/swamp communities of warri. from your analogy it then means that ijaw are littoral in nature, now the case of sapele, there has been itshekiri incursion or ownership also. I left warri due to crisis, i enjoyed that place, the sweet flowing pidgin and from my own understanding I think warri is 50% urhobo while itshekirin is 30% while 20% is more of ijaw I know itshekiri and Ijaw are migrants especially theGINUWA movement from benin and yoruba places so that made it a fact and it also means that their must be aborigenes in warri axis which i am begining to think are the sobos ( urhobo-isoko) people cos i personally see them as one. Now if it is so, did urhobos migrate from anywhere. we will want to ascertain the aborigines and original owners of warri before the wave of benin migration I know that the original owners of land is those that langauage is dominant in the land apart from colonisation. I will want to assume and i know that warri pidgin has urhobo accented heavily in it like it sing song flow of pidgin(I LOVE THAT) Which is naturally urhobo way of speaking and migwo language everywhere in warri NOW THE QUESTION IS DID URHOBO MIGRATE AND IF THEY DID, WHEM WHOM DID THEY MET AT THE ORIGINAL PLACE. We cant divorce migrtion, like the benin wave of migration in northern delta and they met aborigenes like the ika igbo and ukwuani igbo, which influenced the few benin migrants in delta north making them speak igbo so i believe the same thing with itshekiri peeps from yoruba and benin land migrating to warri making them to speak an edoid-yoruba language THE QUESTION IS WHO WERE THE ORIGINAL AND ABORIGINAL OWNERS. Do we have any archaeological evidence to support this ownership? I am enjoying your submission, your intelligent and your post is very vivid and analytical. please answer me.... |

Onegai: Lol, I'm from one of the places in Delta you just mentioned. I assure you, we are not asking for any Igbo help, nor do we have Igno brothers over the River Niger. I don't know any Agbor or Ukwani person that will say "yep I'm Igbo". It's so bad that someone was at funeral of an Agbor man and started playing Igbo christian music. His kids rushed to to remove the tape and threw it at his head. Even my nephews are being taught not to marry anything after the Niger river. So please, do not be concerned about us. We thank you for the thought, but don't go to those areas and say "your Igbo brothers are concerned about your welfare", I don't know you but 2015 is not your time to transcend this Earth say amen. It's so bad that I once attended mass in Agbor (went there for something) and during the sermon the Rev Fr preached in English, then switched to Igbo. People actually got up and walked out during the sermon, to show their displeasure. That was when I realised how deep their emotions were. one of those places is no places, look at how itshekiri and urhobo are proudly representing here and you are saying you are from one of those places. i mentioned many places and where are you from, be confident and stop having inferiority complex. for your information i am married to ukwuani woman and she is pure igbo and see herself as one and i lived in warri so i am apt with delta. My dear if your name is Ngozi, Ebele, Nkechi, Emeka, Ossai, Obinna, Olisa your simply igbo or you have igbo origin same as if your name is muhammed, Ibrahim, Yusuf, Idris yoyr simply muslim or you have muslim origin same is if your name is Femi, Kemi, Taye, Ibikinle your simply yoruba or have yoruba origin. If your name is Tony, Christopher, John, Mark etc your simply christian or have christian origin So what is your name where are you from what language do you speak why do you have identity complex or issues?(Not Insult) Do you know that delta is not a tribe but a state? please answer this question and I will not want us to derail this beautiful thread. I am warning you. I am learning so much here and can you open up a thread and lets discuss this, then you can invite us to debate on your quagmire and identity cross roads, but let us not derail this thread. can you please answer those questions i posted |

buJu234: from my understanding being a guy that was born in warri; schooled (primary & secondary) in warri b4 jetting out...
I think the land belong to the 3 tribes.
I think that; while the Ijaw were growing from the deep water side; the Itsekiris were developing from the Shores of the land; while the Urhobos were developing from the main land.
so a time came wen all of them finally met at the center of warri which is around Okere mkt(Urhobo side); Makaiva mkt(Ijaw side);kpessu mkt (Itsekiri side)
And they all lived in peace together for yrs and even inter-married.
if not for greed; divide and rule system & politics; I think they should jst relax and leave together.
b4 i left warri in the 90s... during the warri - war times..
an Itsekiri man doesnt feel safe in the warri main land (Okumagba lay-out; Enerhere junctn;Marine gates; Igudu mkt axis; Airport rd towards effurun side etc) only around the coaster side (Ajamogha; Ubeji; eguredu Itsekiri; and some part of NPA)
while an Ijaw/Urhobo man doesnt feel safe Ajamogha;Ubeji;eguredu Itsekiri; GRA.
The center that their ancestors met became the war front places like Okere mkt(Urhobo side); Makaiva mkt(Ijaw side);kpessu mkt (Itsekiri side).
Please i havent heard of Itsekiri boy; Ijaw boy or Urhobo boy BUT wat u heard is Original WARRI BOY irrespective of tribe... that says it all...
Peaceful co-existence TYANKS FOR THIS CLARIFICATION.I NEV3R KNEW THIS . NOW WHAT ABOUT GARAGE AT SAPELE ROAD...IS THAT AN IJAW OR ITSHEKIRI DOMAIN DOWN TO GKS WHAT ABOUT EKPAN THE REFINARY AREAS ALSO? I LOVE YOUR POST |

Onegai: Errr, I'd have thought Bini would be the 4th, but I do know Urhobo is bigger than Ijaw. I'm from Delta, the number of places that are Urhobo-speaking surpass my language's spread and I am yet to meet several Ijaw people (because they're spread over Coastal areas in 2/3 states doesn't make it a large population).
Reason it out: when people are asking about the main tribe of Delta or language, which language do they refer to? Urhobo
Not Ika, not Ijaw, not Itsekiri (all my Itsekiri friends speak Yoruba sef), not Kwale, not Ibo (though Igbo people keep trying to claim Delta by force). It's Urhobo. Why do you want to derail this brautiful thread. I learnt where somebody said that the only thing that unite warri is igbo. I laogh and i wonder how people can be so fearful of igbo I lived in warri around post office ...okere road and worshiped at ckc Now for the sake of clarifaction ..IGBO IS NOT CLAIMING DELTA WHAT IGBO SAID THAT DELTA NORTH ARE IGBO PLACES FROM UKWUANI TO AGBOR VIA ASABA TO WHOLE NDOKWA igbo is not interested who owns warri but igbo will be interested when their brothers in delta north are hurt ... Now pls don't derail this thread and don't bring igbo here DON'T DERAIL THIS THREAD |

ronald4lif: Jerks like this keeps giving us Igbo guys bad name. How could someone be this heartless? You know you can't date someone outside your tribe and still wasted her time all along.
Anyways dear you have to move on. Why are you still hanging out with such a person. I understand is pretty hard to let go of someone you love and was so committed to but you see he doesn't deserve you. Stop seeing him like right away and possibly stop whatever communication you have with him. Don't let him deceive you any further. Be a strong woman and come to terms with the sad reality that he's left you.
Soon he ll start coming up with stories of how you are the one he loves and want to be with and how he's marrying the new girl coz mom wants him to. He will equally start telling you how she's bad bla bla. But all that is hogwash. If he really meant it he won't have left you for her. The tribe talk and what his relatives wants are also baseless. A real man stands his grounds on whoever he truly wants to marry. He's to live with the wife, not his relatives so they shouldn't have much say. Please move on Stop saying that . Marriage isn't a sympathy thing this man came out as a brave man and told her the truth that he cant marry her. That to me is honorable ... I dont know why women think that all relationship will lead to marital bliss I think its the best thing that she is been told the truth If your not heartbroken before your not grown. IAMBREEZY: i met this igbo chic in losangeles when i went to buy some equipment for my studio since imma music producer, at first sight she took my breath away Goddamnit! Besides i already said i ain't gonna date any girl from that region because my hommie told me they ain't loyal and they snitch alot, i didn't listen to him because i thought it was all rumours, She was so special, intelligent, gentle and loving, due to my gregarious nature and interest i striked a convo with her and she accepted to date me i collected her contact and bounce off, then later at night i called her so that was how the journey of our love started into jollyment, i didn't know she would be that wicked and a criminal not until i took her to my condo during valentine and i bought lotsa gifts for her value more than $2,000 althought i haven't had sex with her because i ain't that crazy about it, i'm just like that. but i do have her nakeed pics which she sent to me when we were flirting, to cut the epistle short after i gave her the expensive gifts she told me she's sick she has tommy pain, that i should get her a drug at the next street , i went out to buy the drugs without hesitating and when i arrived i saw that she was grinning, she later told me she's now alright the pain has faded away after that she told me she has an appointment that i should take her home, i did without hesitating, all these while i didn't know she has executed her plan by stealing my money. hence, that's why she was in haste even when i walked towards the wardrobe i kept the wonga she distracted me, it was later today i checked the wardrobe and i couldn't see the stack of cash and my expensive chains, i called her number it was switched off, i reported the case to the cops and they re already investigating and tracing her, now i'm thinking of releasing her neeked pics on the internet and dealing with the biîtch, i think thats one of the best option now, now i can't tell my hommies because they gonna laught at my stupidity i don't know what to do now though. JessyM: I dated an igbo guy for 6 months, I loved him so much and he had feelings for me as well, he used to tell me how much he loves me and how different I am from other gals outside there, characters and behaviours, one day he said to me if am aware of Nigeria igbo culture, because he wants to settle down with me, I was happy because I know I really loved him, I trusted every single word coming from his mouth and my heart trusted him as well. He made me feel like a woman, but not knowing that he's just pleases me with sugar words,he used to make me feel bad sometimes because of the way he talk, he knows am not a demanding woman because am not just comfortable when I keep asking a man for money, and so I like to use the small money I have, if he wants to give me, he will without me demanding. So it happened that he left to Nigeria for holiday of 6 weeks, so I tried to keep in touch with him atleast to know how he's doing, but when I call, sometimes he will say, he's busy or can we talk in the evening. One day I called him and said to me "can we pls talk tomorrow"? I felt somehow but I took everything simple, after the holiday, he came back and he confirmed to me that he got a woman of his choice because he promised his mother never to marry outside and that it's better we break a r/ship than a marriage simply because we have different cultures. I felt really hurt and I left him, after sometimes he asked me to visit him, and because of the feelings we had for each other we committed sex. He has a gal now in Nigeria, and am still hanging out with him because he was the only guy I had upto now, even though I know he's engaged somewhere and we cannot get narried,am still hanging out with him and we spent val together in Saturday, Pls what is the best step to take? Advice me pls thanks I am igbo also and I will advise you....go Home. Get yourself another man from your place or dont you have decent man there This man came out open and told you the truth that he can't marry you and you ate still sticking around . Why do you want to disyroy the marriage . It hurts but leave him alone ...igbo are blunt and frank people so get a plan b Good luck on your manly searching |

For me as a south-south person, I will never support any south-East person as a president until they tender a Public Apology to the people of the south-south over the killings of our people during the Biafran war. Anything I remember Nigerian civil war, I say think u to Gen. Gowon and the Hausas for saving us from the Igbos. Look at north today they are just backward yet they have president Look at w3st the level of poverty in west is high yet they produced president Look at ijaw...do you see the poverty Now look at east and see progress It's not about president If we can keep moving and developing without president....to me its ok What is important is economic domination |
