Members of President Buhari’s delegation to the United nations General Assembly have accused Prof.Joy Ogwu, Nigeria’s Permanent Representative to the UN, of sabotaging President Muhammadu Buhari’s participation, citing glaring missteps that have embarrassed the delegation and undermined Nigeria’s/

The accusation follows curious circumstances in which Nigeria missed two key events, putting its leadership on the spot. The first was a Boko Haram response event chaired by a UN Under-Secretary Mike O’Brien, which Buhari missed completely.

The Nigeria leader, who will speak in the general debate this evening, also missed a meeting with the Catholic Pontiff, Pope Francis, because of his late arrival to the meeting, the bizarre circumstances of which are only just being understood.

Sources within the delegation told SaharaReporters that the delegation also missed at least two other events and has had a difficult time securing full participation in the very important 70th Assembly.

In the case of the Boko Haram event, the sources told our reporter that it was never put on President Buhari’s calendar by the Nigerian mission.

Regarding the event with the Pope, Buhari missed it because when he came down from his hotel suite, there was no car to take him to the meeting. When he decided to walk to the event with his entourage, he was taken by Nigerian mission officials to the wrong gate, where they were denied entry by security agents.

Buhari then walked back to his hotel where, when he got on the elevator, the mission finally brought a car to take him to see the Pope.

Sources say when he made that second trip in the Mission’s car, he was again driven to yet another wrong gate and the delegation was turned back.

Also, yesterday an attempt by the delegation to attend a side meeting where Nigeria was to have declared its support for the “Commitment to Gender Equality” initiative almost failed as the mission failed to provide any secondary party to facilitate the Nigerian delegation’s participation. It took the intervention of the Chinese mission to help former member of house of reps Abike Dabiri and other delegates to get into the event.

And then today, members of the Nigerian delegation led by the governor of Niger state again denied access to another important event, “EveryWoman, EveryChild,” because of poor organization.

As Buhari prepares to speak today at the UN, the delegation also hit a major hitch as the Mission did not process tickets for all members of the delegation to get into the event. Only President Buhari and a few members of his protocol team were accredited to get in the venue. Our source said it was when Buhari finally got upset about it that Prof. Ogwu when out and processed acoustic tickets to enable a larger number of delegates to attend the event.

Apart from the fiasco with accreditation and general conference management, the members of the delegation are also not provided food in their hotel rooms as is the tradition. Instead, they are made to eat at a buffet at the Mission. According to his aides, President Buhari refused to go to the buffet.

The Nigerian delegation is staying at the ONE UN New York, (the former Millennium UN Plaza Hotel), across the road from the UN, and on the same block with the Nigerian Mission.

Prof. Ogwu’s tenure expires in December 2015. Several UN observers blames President Buhari for the mess, he berates the president delays in appointing ministers saying it is a major reason his UN trip failed miserably. A retired Nigerian diplomat told Saharareporters that President Buhari must have seen the folly in relying on unsupervised civil servants to run the affairs of state since he came to power.

Yorubas accuse Igbos of being too smart in business and
therefore should not be trusted. The implication is that
they unconsciously accept the Igbos as having superior IQ
and business sense.
And when credible institutions publish the results of their
studies showing Igbos as chart-toppers Yorubas begin to
search for straws to hold onto to fault the research. You
wonder why they become so rattled and agitated at such
results.
Business is all about smartness and no dullard or book-
theory person can do better in a business than a person
with native intelligence.
Mental superiority makes you want to find your own
space.
Mentally dull people hate radical changes and want to just

There is a correlation between Igbo achievements and 21
billion dollars remittances back into Nigerian economy on
yearly basis as evidenced by statistics from Western
Union. A less backward or less enterprising group of
treasury looters cannot achieve such feat.
The Igbo youths are born into a society where they always
have to think fast else they will be like Yorubas who live
on free handouts from Abuja. Igbos always try as much as
possible to excel in their various pursuits in life. Little

of Yoruba tribe will be nowhere today, and that's why

with one financial crime or the other.
Nigeria economy assumed a downward trend when the
Yorubas and their Northern co-travellers acquired all
Nigerian companies by virtue of indigenization decree of
1972. But they could not manage the companies instead
they ruined, defrauded, liquidated, bankrupted and
destroyed all the companies - that was the mother of
destruction of Nigerian economy! The swindlers indeed
bastardized the Nigerian economy.
And to divert attention from their ineptitude and crass
looting of the treasury Yorubas would use illogical
reasoning to attempt to bamboozle other people while
pointing accusing fingers elsewhere!
After more than 40 years, despite the stolen wealth, the
Yoruba land cannot be said to be transformed and be one
of the enviest in the world. None of their cities could be
likened to, say the least, Johannesburg!
Inspite of the tortuous journey the Igbo man passed/
passes through to achieve success the criminal system in
place and the Yoruba gang will not allow the Igbo man be.
Yorubas are bitter and angry at the success of the Igbos,
that they use any given opportunity at their disposal to
remind Igbos that they are the ones who accommodated
them and therefore they should abide by their dictates,
whims and caprices, including being coerced to vote the
candidate of the host's choice in election.
With all the disadvantages Igbos faced and still face after
the 1967-70 they rose from grass to grace and Yorubas
are not even ashamed to compare Igbos with treasury
looters.
There is no law on this earth that prohibits free movement
of people and participation in government. It takes a man
of courage to venture into an unknown terrain and conquer
it. The Chinese are doing it. The British, Portuguese,
French, Italian, Spanish, Japanese etc. did it. If the great
Roman Empire hadn't ventured no one would have known
they were great. Today many American businesses are
located offshores in China, Saudi Arabia, Tokyo, United
Arab Emirate and they are still venturing out to conquer
unknown terrains.
For you to be great you have to venture out of your
comfort zone. This is the true character of the ever
industrious and peace-loving Great Igbo Nation. As of
today it would be an understatement to aver that Igbos
control 50% of the economy of Lagos and its environs.
You see, it pays to venture out instead of lazing around
touting and disturbing the peace of the society.

The truth is most people prefer to be with their own. There is nothing wrong with it and I doubt things will change. You don't need to stress yourself about what Igbo's do or don't do. If you are afraid to date one because they may marry one of their own then rather avoid such relationships. Yea basically Majority of yoruba's, majority of igbo's and majority of Hausa's prefer their children to marry within their own tribe and for the most part majority of Nigerians marry with in their Tribe any way and I see nothing wrong with that or see it as being a tribal bigot, to me it's more of cultural pride. All cultures and races are like that in the world today, the indians, arabs and etc are all like that. However the only time it becomes a problem is when people within their respectve culture, race, group and etc attack other groups or their own for justification for marrying out(not extreme with Nigerians though).
