My dear, Tithe is God's money. He says you have robbed him if you don't bring it to His house... Malachi 3

However other givings are encouraged :

Offering
Parents
The Poor
Missionaries
And your Pastor ( if you believe you're blessed by his teachings or ministry)

No man is supposed to own God's tithe, not even the pastor - God will judge him seriously!

Tithe is 10% that you pay to God for protecting you, your family, finances and other things around you from the hand of the devourer.

I'll challenge you to it, those who pay tithes hardly spend on I'll health and accidents or mishaps. That is why they end up using their monies well than non tithers. This is what I have experienced in life.

Any month you don't pay tithe, your savings is hardly preserved
Where did Jesus tell us to pay tithe...did any of the apostles pay tithe

read Deuteronomy 14vs22, youll know that firstly, tithe is not money, secondly, tithe is meant to be eaten by you, a portion to be given to the poor, widow, while the rest go to pastors. Read hebrew 7 to the end and you will see that tithe is an old testament law, for the jews that are practicing Judaism. It has been abolished by the coming of Jesus christ. That is why he didnt pay it, his desciples didnt pay it too, the early church in the act of apostles dont pay tithe, while paul the apostles in his letters to those churches e.g. Ephesians, romans e.t.c. Never instructed anyone to pay tithe. Christians are never to pay tithe. Besides muslims dont pay tithe and theyre rich. Dangote is a muslims and he is the richest man in Africa, buhari, you president is a muslim and he doesnt pay tithe and you hardly hear them going to the hospital. God is not wicked and He is a God of everybody. My advice for you is to give your tithe to the hopeless, and the needy. Read the word of Jesus. Jesus told a man that came to ask him about the kingdom of God to sell all his properties and give them to the poor and he will have treasures in heaven. He didnt tell him to pay tithe, neither did he tell him to take them to the church or he should bring it to him. Pastors always manipulates bible to suit theirself, that is why its good to read bible yourself.
I am a Christian I have noticed that it is this pentecostal business pastors that ask of tithes ..catholic and orthodox don't ask you to pay it...you pay from your heart yet they have the richest in Christianson from capital oil to belusconi to Chelsea owner

Honestly in a just world, Igbos will be running everything in Nigeria. No, I'm not Igbo but have read about the Igbos for yrs. This people are not ordinary black people. Go and read every single account by colonial masters when they arrived East of the Niger...one thing is common and repeated " they are as civilized as whites". The same colonial masters wrote that the blacks they met in the west...yorubas were " barbarous" . I'm not making these up...these are facts.

Ngozi okonji was igbuzor married to abia man ...but abia presented her as candidate

I think the problem with most delta Igbo is that they are easily cowed by those minority around them forgetting they have bigger brother

1). ISS report has nothing to do with nation building...it's basically just a report based on resources (both mineral/natural and human). And being a super-power requires more than. The primary prerequisite for being a super-power is structure/bonding based on the same interests and that's one thing naij lacks. When the Roman empire took on the world and conquered it - it did so based on bonding and common interest. Ditto the British empire. And these were small empires with a small population. You don't necessarily need huge human and natural/mineral resources to achieve that status - Japan is a classic example based on how it ruled the extremely huge China and the whole of Korea, at a point in history.

2). The world only change on the outside - the aesthetics - as it was then, so it's today. Everything in the world always go full circle and it's a continuous process, hence history is important and why everything ought to be done based on historical context. The nucleus of the Roman empire (based on how it was built/structured/modeled) was fully entrenched in the British empire - and that was passed to the United States. The empire never died - it just put on a different jacket

The United states is diverse on the surface - but once you look beyond that and do the proper classification, you'd find out that the country is overwhelmingly white (over 75% of the population). What does that tell you? Once you compare it to naij - you'd discover that both have nothing in common based on ethnic classifications, since Igbo, Yoruba, and Hausa/Fulani have roughly the same population. Then you have another layer of minorities with also the same population differential. Then the tiny ones. If either Yoruba, Igbo, or Hausa/Fulani had been about 75% of the population of naij - the country would be thriving right now. However, that isn't the case - hence the quagmire.

China had its time in the past and like all empires, it got tired and went to sleep. However, the only reason China is awake today and it's on its way to claim its well-deserved status is cos over 90% of the country is Han Chinese and Chairman Mao was able to coalesce everyone to buy into the best ideology they could all rally around, based on the Han Chinese identity.

3). Investors will always be attracted to a place with huge population and a lot of money in circulation, regardless how flawed it's. However, that doesn't mean the country has any potential whatsoever to be great when it comes to nationhood. You need to understand that business/investment is profit-driven and it's all about money/purchase-power/size. When something is profit-driven, the only winners are those involved in profiteering, not the populace.

4). For naij to be restructured to be a confederation like the UK won't be a walk in the park cos I doubt the Northerners would agree, since they're in an advantageous position based on how it's structured. Evidently, it will require the same energy to get that type of structure - to break the country up. So if it's going to take the same energy, why not go for that latter? Personally, I won't mind a confederation, with new names for the new federations and an opt-out clause. However, I feel a Yoruba country is the dream. I just want to see a thriving country - and I doubt naij will ever be able to offer that.

Yes, a Yoruba country would also have a little bit of internal disagreements - but the hate won't be as pronounced as naij's since the ethnic groups in naij are all different people. The disagreements would be similar to how other Southerners in England diss those from the London...and the whole South England disses those from the Midlands and Northern England - and vice versa.
Nice anology ....nice use of words and nice submission

Well thought out, Smartie. grin

But I will like to make a little inference to the United state. She may be over 75% white but the whites are of various nationalities, from the British who where the first settlers (and they did have their own internal rift with the irish) to the Germans, Dutch, Italians and jews etc.

Although the Anglo saxons' norms and views became the overwhelming American culture and foreign relation, those nationalities are still away of their identities and root.

I will be the last to deny the Nigerian triangle (Yoruba/Igbo/Hausa ) isn't a pain in the neck and the yearn for secession is ever so tempting. But I think it is burdened on the political construction of the system rather than just an ethnic fear of dominance.

What do the Igbos want in Nigeria? Why do they feel marginalised? I will answer than they have been denied a shot at the presidency for so long. What if we had a true federalism that makes Abuja just the diplomatic face of Nigeria and leave the region's to develop in their own pace and time?

The Niger delta feels used and exploited and it is a fact. Why can't they control their resources and pay due levies and task to the federation?

The Yorubas want their own brand of civilization and political ideology with its own set of values, true federalism will give them much of that.

The north fears dominance in education and other human development by everyone from the South. Yet she has an abundance of resources that can sustain her in the reconstruction of the country.

My fear for Nigeria in a breakup is that it will tear deep in the moral and psychological cloak of Africa.

If we're to split up, I don't think it will be in 3 ways, it's going to be more with the foreign powers negotiating and coming for the spoils. Some regions are going to see internal civil wars, others might come up worse and others might pledge their allegiance to other foreign bodies to survive.

The coast of the Niger delta is just too much of a temptation for the world powers to ignore.

If you're to have a Yoruba state as it is, how do you seek to include your kinsmen in Kogi and kwara states?
Nice post but it is alarmist ..Russia broke up and non took arms ...let's take Igbo for example ..with over 35 million which is the population if Luxembourg 7 times and Denmark 6 times ...these European countries have the best GDP

I feel that people are scared of Igbo leaving but I just don't understand why they are this worried yet they still hate Igbo

I have been asking this but no answer ...can you help me out

When I read Achebe's book "There was a country" I noticed how he felt at home after crossing Benin and how he was welcomed by the delta Igbo police.

The Igbankes in Edo state are igbos full time. And the daftness of a military regime place them in Edo state in so minute in numbers that they're denied basic rights.

Over half the population in river state is igbo. Plus a sizable number scattered amongst neighbouring states.

In a true federalism the Igbos could opt for a merger of states and regions having access to the oik and sea in the rivet section of SS and on shore oil in delta north in Anioma.
nice postulation and what another thing that people keep saying is that Igbo is landlocked and I wonder how they get that idea ..yes do you know that Bonny island and opobo speak Igbo also

Do you know that Igbo land still have orashi, river Niger and IMO river that empties into the Atlantic and these waters are highly navigable

This issue of oil is another thing ... Igbo are not oil thirsty to be honest

It rings true and the the bloodlines of Igbos across the South South has never been in dispute except in some political disposition where the geographical location is brought to bear.

But I love the spread , the stretch of Ndigbo accross the Southeast and the stretch of the Yorubas across the Southwest. It add gives each of these tribes a far reaching tentacles while adding to the complexity of Nigeria in a beautiful interwoven lock.
Now you are getting the drift ...this is what many people do not know about the Igbo ...Igbo will always recognise his brother in a foreign land ..let me tell you once i drive home and I pass Benin and once i get to abudu then I feel at home from there even if my car breaks down I am not worried because those are Igbo speaking areas

People don't know we have Igbo speaking areas in edo , cross river , akwa ibom ,Benue and some parts of kogi

Meanwhile, Norway is a country of about 5 million people, administratively divided into 19 counties (fylker) and a further 430 municipalities (kommuner). There are national elections in odd years, alternating between the national and the local levels. Culture10 Benefits Of Kissing by tonychristopher(op): 6:32pm On Sep 17, 2015
Albert Einstein said that “Any man who can drive safely while kissing a pretty girl is simply not giving the kiss the attention it deserves.” Forget about disease transmission, for a kiss is truly a pleasurable thing and Einstein has to say that it is special. But it is more than that; kissing has several benefits, especially to the health and well-being of a person. Here are ten benefits of kissing (specifically a kiss between lovers):

1. Kissing burns calories. Not that kissing is the ultimate fat-burning activity! But kissing can burn as much as 2 to 6 calories a minute. It may not be much, but two hours of continuous kissing can burn calories equivalent to one pound steak. It can also double your metabolic rate. Research claims that three passionate kisses a day (at least lasting 20 seconds each) will cause you to lose an entire extra pound! It’s time to start that kissing diet!

2. Kissing tones the face and strengthens facial muscles. You use 30 muscles while kissing and the smooching helps keep the checks tight, preventing them from being baggy and loose. A torrid French kiss exercises all the underlying muscles of the face. The tension in the muscles caused by a passionate kiss helps smooth the skin and increases the circulation.

3. Kissing is a known stress-reliever. Passionate kissing relieves tension, reduces negative energy and produces a sense of well being, lowering your cortisol “stress” hormone. Kissing is also like meditation. “Kissing is an exciting excursion into the sensual,” says psychologist and clinical sexologist Joy Davidson. “If we happen to be connecting with someone we care about, it produces a sense of well-being and a kind of full-bodied pleasure.” Hence, a kiss can suppress anxiety and produce physiological changes that meditation can do.

4. Kissing is also good for the heart, as it creates an adrenaline which causes your heart to pump more blood around your body. Frequent kissing has scientifically been proven to stabilize cardiovascular activity, decrease blood pressure and cholesterol.

5. Kissing is relaxing. According to scientists, kissing can increase the oxytocin and endorphin levels. Oxytocin is the body’s natural calming chemical while endorphin is the fell-good chemical. The endorphins produced by kissing are 200 times more powerful than morphine. Swapping spit is also noted to increase dopamine, which aids in feelings of romantic attachment.

6. Kissing helps flush out bacteria. During kissing, the extra saliva washes bacteria off the teeth, consequently helping break down oral plaque. This means kissing can help prevent tooth decay and cavities. During a kiss, natural antibiotics are also secreted in the saliva. Furthermore, the saliva contains a type of anesthetic that helps relieve pain.

7. Kissing boosts immunity. All that swapping spit exchanges germs, too, which forces your body to produce antibodies to prevent you from getting sick. It’s like getting a vaccination, so keep the kisses coming in order to keep you healthy.

According to the study by the journal Medical Hypotheses, kissing can increase women’s immunity from Cytomegalovirus. This virus is transmitted through mouth to mouth contract and can cause infant blindness and other birth defects if the mother is a carrier during pregnancy. However, it is relatively harmless for adults. Thus, kissing can be a way to pass along bugs, thereby strengthening the body’s defenses.

8. Kissing is a “mate assessment tool” as described by anthropologist Helen Fisher. The most sensitive feelings can be picked up by the lips, cheeks, tongue and nose. Out of 12 cranial nerves, five of them are picking up information from around the mouth. Thus, you can really hear, see and feel the person you are kissing. Kissing is not anymore just a “kissing” activity, but more of an expression of who you are, what you want and what you can give.

Moreover, kissing has been viewed by many researchers as biology’s way of determining which people are most compatible with genetically. “At the moment of the kiss, there are hard-wired mechanisms that assess health, reproductive status and genetic compatibility,” says Gordon G. Gallup Jr., a professor of evolutionary psychology at the State University of New York at Albany. “Therefore, what happens during that first kiss can be a make-or-break proposition.”

9. Kissing can relieve allergies. In a research conducted in Japan, it has been shown that kissing can lower down the body’s allergic reaction to pollen. “What they did was study the blood levels of IgE, an allergy antibody before and after 30 minutes of kissing their partner,” Dr. Lynda Kabbash of Harvard Vanguard said.

Researchers say kissing also helped relieve symptoms in patients with dermatitis, a skin condition triggered by allergies.

10. Kissing keeps you younger. This is an after effect of exercising your facial muscles and toning them through kissing. The relaxing effect of kissing can also help fight out stress and you will remain happy and younger-looking. Likewise, kissing improves self-esteem. It makes you feel appreciated and helps your state of mind.

Family8 Things Men Will Always Find Attractive In Women (true Version) by tonychristopher(op): 6:00pm On Sep 17, 2015
1. Wide hips

Wide hips are a sexually dimorphic trait. During puberty, women’s hipbones widen to facilitate childbirth. Hips don’t lie—wide hips in a woman are a strong signifier to men that she’s a mature adult who’s very much capable of reproduction. (She can push out little critters with ease.) Since we men are all about putting our seed in fertile ground, it’s not uncommon to see us fawning over Iggy Azalea and her ilk’s “parted like the Red Sea” hips.

2. Big, full, and red lips

Big, full, and red lips are a strong sign of good genetic quality. Full lips are often a sign that your jaws have grown correctly without misalignment—a very good indicator of genetic health. It’s no coincidence that people who have a perfect teeth and a perfect bite often also have full lips. But what of the redness? Lipstick doesn’t exist in nature, so why would men find red lipstick attractive? When women apply red lipstick they’re unknowingly mimicking a big sign of arousal in primates. Upon arousal in female primates blood rushes to their lips, creating a red sheen. Naturally, male apes are going to want to get with someone who’s putting her willingness on display. This is no less true in Homo sapiens. Red lips are universally attractive because they signal arousal and willingness to engage in sex. So ladies, perhaps you should be a bit more careful with what you smear on your lips if you don’t want to look like you’re actively looking to get a piping.

3. Slim waists

This one goes hand-in-hand with the wide hips. Estrogen, the female hormone, dictates fat storage in women. High estrogen levels in the female body often mean that fat will congregate around the breasts, the hips, and ass—NOT the stomach. So when men see a woman with a bit of a gut—she’s telling us “My estrogen levels are not very high”—men love high estrogen, so she’s not going to be a big hit with the lads.

It’s simple—if you have a big belly, we’re not going to find you as attractive as we would if you had a slim waist. DUH. Testosterone, the male hormone, dictates fat storage on the stomach. That’s why you don’t see many women with beer guts.

4. Maternal instinct

Women who display a maternal inclination and all the traits that this entails are very attractive. Qualities such as kindness, empathy, and warmth are all the offspring of the maternal demeanor. They are also the antithesis of the typical feminist qualities, something that may explain why most men find feminists repulsive. Personally, I find that seeing a woman coddling a pet or a baby with love in her eyes stirs something deep inside of me—it awakens primal attraction. I remember finding Disney’s portrayal of Snow White to be incredibly attractive as a child. Looking back on it through an evolutionary lens, I’ve come to realize that it may have had a lot do with her cuddle sessions with forest animals. I will often look at how women treat children and small animals. It is a good way to determine whether she’s girlfriend material or pump-and-dump material. Embodying maternal qualities tells men that you will be a good mother to your potentially shared offspring.

5. Submissiveness

Men have always been the dominant sex—men’s largely superior upper-body strength has made any other balance of power impossible. This fact is, despite it seeming that way on first glance, not a disadvantage to women. In fact, women wouldn’t have it any other way. Women on the whole, although many may be afraid to admit it in this current feminist climate of thought-policing, find dominant men more attractive than their meeker counterparts. They don’t like feeling “above” their men. This is evident in the fact that women tend to want to marry partners who make more money than they do. The force that logically corresponds to women’s attraction for dominant men is the male attraction to submissive women. A woman acting submissive around a man will reaffirm his protector and provider instincts, making him both feel better about both himself and her.

6. Ample breasts

Men love big tits—that’s not a very well kept secret. Some speculate that boobs have evolved to resemble the ass as much as possible, the reason being that our ancestors, who were initially only able to mate from behind, needed a substitute ass to ogle around the time when bipedalism allowed for face-to-face fucking. The fact that breasts play a big part in nurturing offspring has helped a lot in the two funbags’ meteoric rise to sex-symbol status. Again, estrogen plays a big part in telling fat where to go. In women with a healthy hormonal profile, a lot of fat will assemble around the breasts.

7. Big asses

Kim Kardashian’s ass draws a lot of looks from Hot men and jealous women. Her ass is attractive because of its breadth and volume. She be storing fat in all the right places. There’s not really much more to say about this. The bottom line is that if you have a big ass, you’re signaling fertility to the opposite sex.

8. Beauty

Beauty is, contrary to popular belief, NOT in the eye of the beholder. There are very specific ratios and features that determine facial beauty across cultures. Men will always find a beautiful face attractive—beauty is attractiveness.
You’d better have big eyes, a small nose, a small chin, and big lips if you want to get yourself some action. Actually, scratch that—lucky for you, men’s standards are not very high, so any hoglike women out there reading this, there’s hope for you.

There you have it. It’s a bit harder to swallow than Rob’s fluffy mess, but it is definitely closer to the truth—can you handle it?

No it was the Asaba and Delta Igbo that caused the civil war but the eastern Igbo stood by them and we realise that we cant let our brothers down, even our cousins the Ibibio was with us here in the war...the only sour point which is normal in every 12 and in every family there is always the black sheep... and do you know the black sheep?

The IKWERRES but some are coming back to the fold via OHANEZE

So dont be scared of IGBO unity...igbos are not marufders that invade territories, its the fulani that does that...the igbo man is busy looking for the next deal be it intellectually or economically

we are too busy for petty invasion

lolz. I cannot wish the western igbos away. They are igbos alright but I was just being a little realistic.

I observed that during the civil war, the federal troops found it extremely difficult to penetrate the south east, they however settled amongst the delta and rivers igbos which shared land boundaries with the rest of Nigeria.

A lot of harm and evil was done there and then. The Asaba genocide/massacre easily comes to bear. This , I believed sparked the denial and controversy surrounding the western igbos

To be honest, I am not impressed with First class, Sevond class stuffs, when I conduct interviews, I will just ask simple question...what can you do if I employ you...so if you think you will impress me with those paper qualification ...you are in for a long ride with me.

I learnt this from the Whites...I learnt this in EU , over there in EU especially the Brits and Yankees also, they ask you...dude what can you do?

Try watch the movie '' pursuit of happiness'' and understand this.

Most of the things you learn is gotten from experience not in classroom

this is why the professor of economics can not manage a chewing gum and candy business, but the illiterake abbookkii can manage it and grow it to a big business

the more reason why the guy that graduated from LAGOS BUSINESS SCHOOL can not manage chains of stores but the Igbo guy that just got his freedom will manage it to a conglomerate..ask COSCHARIS and CAPITAL OIL.

these are stuffs you dont learn in classroom, your lectuers doesnt even know it..they are busy striking and sleeping with small girls

So dont impress me with your certificate....i wont buy that

i have seen a lot of so called big cert holders goof

they are the ones that ran this country aground

ArodewilliamsT:
Listen I am Igbo, i've had no problems with yorubas until i came here, the only people i'm alway wary of are the Islamis hausa-fulanis of the north whose penchant for bloodletting is unequaled in sub-saharan Africa. The internet opened my eyes when i heard yorubas screaming about "Igbos never going to be President", calling them slaves of nigeria and i was one of those who popularized the "Illorin caliphate" taunting to remind them who the slaves really are. Many nigerians of the Southwestern destroyed this country by taunting the Igbos with "presidency and civil war", Some of us as Igbos were anti-Biafrans just few years ago, we even defend Nigeria against ghanian and south africans on the forum, but incendiary comments and taunts from the hateful yorubas who even thought were our only friends in Nigeria have turned millions of Eastern youths more Pro-Biafran than even Uwazurike and Nnamdi Kanu.

When non-violent Massob members are killed guess who taunts the Igbos? yorubas, not even the hausas we openly dislike.

When Christian Igbos were killed in the islamic north due to Danish cartoon riots... guess who jumped up for joy? yorubas( christians and muslims alike). Their taunting here reduced when proved to them they were also getting killed in the north. the 2011 Sai buhari NYSC killings had more yoruba names than other tribe down south

When fulanis destroy crops and rape women, guess who feels elated, yorubas.

i could go on and on. Let yorubas have their own country, their Chi have already broken their palm kernel for , lagos have been developed with eastern resources, from palm kernel to crude oil. They seaports, airports have been built for their use in their ODua country. Biafra has to build from scratch. So they should be happy, they stand to gain more from a split unworkable nigeria.

A Biafra adage Says "let the eagle perch, leg the dove perch too". Biafra and Oodua can live and progress separately and teach the rest Africa how real nations are built. Let us separate and survive, than collide in "unity" for destruction.
This is classic ...you made sense but we can't dwell in hate you know

I don't write a group off...there are some good fellas left you know

1) I never infered my submission were general. I always make my assertion with "some". I never spoke for the generality of any group, the furthest I will go is to relay feelings of most within that group.

You came along with a super sensitivity to accuse me of speaking for the entire group. Check all the threads on nairaland on the delta/rivers Igbo origin, they are more or less what I have opined here.

Seems the weight of truth/reality is too heavy for you to bear.

2) Why should I be scared of igbos? Common. Matter of fact, I love the Igbos from their food (ofé onugbo/oha to nkwobi and abacha) to their social behaviour and their aggressive and persistent stance to live

3) they are indeed special like every other group in Nigeria.

4) I honestly will wish for that to be true in the context of the eastern/western igbo relations.
