Christianity EtcThe Streets Of God Allegory - My Dream Last Night by Tonyet1(op): 11:47am On Sep 20, 2011
I was in a dream just last nite, in it I saw this group of folks in a pilgrimage sort of, they were all dressed on brown colored garments and traveling to a land. I was amongst them and then i approached one aged looking man and asked him where he thinks we were headed for and he said: ". . .to heaven" and i was like no no I heard heaven has a street made of Gold with pearl gates and the angels are dressed on white and then he beamed a smile but would say nothing.

In my curiosity I created something like a fiasco - trying to tell them we were heading for the wrong side and then i began hearing whispers deep within saying
[li]When God told the Israelites about the land flowing with milk and honey, did it flow such literally or it was an expression of something else?[/li]
. . .I was dumbfounded and then i recalled to myself and realised that this same land of milk and honey in the bible became a land where blood were spilled in war btw the Israelites and their foes. . .this same land has known no peace till date.
[li]The bible never meant we will be clothed in any such thing as white thus the brown garments I saw, rather the white symbolized the state of our hearts[/li]
I have so much to share from this dream but before I do, let me ask : will there be a literal street of Gold in heaven or it is just some paradox sort of? pls share?

How on earth will one rationalize the idea behind this guy's folly? He creates a thread and barely even contributes, worst of all is when he eventually does its gibberishes.

Bro, i aint trying to diss you besides you could say you are trying to advance the kingdom of God but dude plsssss the rate at which you indiscriminately create meaningful and meaningless threads is enough to call you to order.

Like creating this number of threads in less than 5days on just the religious section alone is crazy and bizarre to say the least.

^^ I would say that from the man's tone and body language he clearly did not mean "correct pattern like we have"  in a particularly boastful manner; I think I would even go as far as saying he was dismissive, in a sense of their own, "correct pattern". I read him as saying "what we think or what we see as correct pattern". His hands were even in the air when he said "correct pattern" ------ though not clearly depicting quotation marks but readable as doing so or indicating a loose use of "correct pattern". In any event, the man said a lot of far far more important things.
My correct pal, no na!. . .brother like are you amongst those who judges a man's intentions by his 'tone' and 'body language'? Tell me you'll pass those words as dismissive and I'll say yes even care-free harvesters passes 'tares' as 'wheats' too. . .not until the former begins to show off its true nature.

Enigma:
In any event, the man said a lot of far far more important things.
And i say, In many events, even false teachers say a lot of far far more important things too. . .and that you believe he said far more important things means that you also believe he said less important things too. . .isnt it?

And if he did, give me reasons why the later should be ignored especially when such involves spiritual matters. . . like tell me you dont believe that the less important things could be heretic and harmful enough to kill?. . .ask those who kill thru' poison in the food, experts says sometimes poisons only make less than 1% of the entire dough.

I think you're making a mountain out of a mole hill. Every church believes it has the correct doctrinal pattern. Otherwise, what sense does it make to continue in a doctrinal pattern you don't believe is the correct one? The pastor's job is to find the right one and follow it. Where the problem is on whether a pastor is humble enough and willing to change what he thought was correct upon the instruction of the Holy Spirit, Scriptures or Godly and scripture-based counsel from other ministers.

More important, the pastor here is not making a big deal of his church's doctrinal pattern. If anything, he's de-emphasizing it by telling people not to insist on worshipping in a church affiliated to them if they find that spiritually unhealthy. I think you'd have a beter leg to stand on if he insisted that people remain in the church because, after all, they're the only ones with the right pattern. But he did no such thing. Unlike some pastors that issue veiled or open threats to members that blessing can only be obtained under their ministry and those leaving are toying with failure.
Making a mountain out of mole hill is one step to decoding fallasies from false teachers. . .ignoring on the other side is one reason deception abounds in Christianity today. Quote me!

Guess what? maybe I should quote the entire phrase here and let you guys judge better:

". . .If you find another church there maybe another Pentecostal church or charismatic church where you find the pastor maybe they don’t have the correct pattern like we have the pastor is a god fearing man challenges you to be a good disciple. . . "

My question exactly:
[li]Telling his audience that his church CFC has the correct pattern, doesnt it sound like boasting?[/li]
[li]Since he feels his church CFC has the correct pattern that other churches maynot have, why then is he telling his members to go elsewhere?, doesnt that amount to trying to look good before them?, like what good teacher would tell his students to go a poor feeding home?. . .like puuuullllllleeeeaaaaasssseeeee spare me! undecided [/li]

Proverbs 16:2 Every man wants to seem innocent  shocked shocked shocked, but motives are weighed by the LORD

I dont have a beef over what Zach taught, besides i aint surprised that no one seem to be seeing anything wrong in the guys exhortations. What we fail to see or understand is that "one strategy fake teachers uses is the art of making their words sound appealing to their audience" they'll want to make you see them as good, but guess what they are adultresses trained in the art of seduction.

Prov. 5:3 - "For the lips of an adulteress drip honey, and her speech is smoother than oil"

You see his words as unintentional or harmless. . .i see it as intentional and worthy of creating harm. For Christ sake, tell me you dont see such gimmicks playing in our churches everyday?
Christianity EtcRe: Joagbaje This Will Shock You , A Very Short Message By Zac Pooen by Tonyet1(m): 9:56am On Sep 12, 2011
I continue my response to 2buff. . .

My first point: In spiritual training, one is told that, man in his entirety is fallible and as such disciples should visit God's word from time to time lest you get caught up digesting the 'the entire good words from a fallible man', and this is coming regardless of the teachers acclaimed spiritual state. Zach Pooen's teachings are no exemption.

When God[righteous word symbolic of a true teacher] instructed Adam and Eve of the specific tree in Genesis, he only told them not to eat of that specific tree!. . .recall?

When the Serpent [symbolic of a false teacher with subtile attribute] came to speak, he said to her " Yeah I heard God said you[symbolic of believers] should not eat of every tree in the garden"

Eve did not feel like questioning the addition that the serpent had made to God's word, maybe she felt it will amount to 'digging too deep' or probably it was a mere 'grammatical mispropriation' and trying not to 'politicize' the comment guess what? she fell!

2buff, I laugh when you call his gaffe a "mere grammatical mispropriation", like do we mean to say that Zach hasnt listened to that message to know the consequences of that statement he made?

As far as I am concerned, that phrase of his that
'others dont have the correct pattern like they do" by Zach should be considered a tare, ordinarily one would feel like yeah yeah a little tare amidst the wheat plant wouldnt affect anything afterall 'tares' and 'wheats' look alike, but guess what tare symbolizes falsehood and falsehood is taught by false teachers. You are digging too deep into what I see to be the result of a combination of current-audience-referential speech and English not being the speaker's first language.
You just used that little and obvious grammatical mispropriation to then go on an all out spin disregarding 99.999 % of what he already said during that whole video.

The memorable quotes and essence of what he said that stand out to me are "My allegiance is not to CFC, but to Jesus Christ"(q). "If your spirit is led to another congregation, please go there"(e). "Don't join a congregation just because it has a name, but because it makes you grow into what you know God wants you to be"(e). That is my summary of what the man in the video said and I am in support of these 3 things.

Let's depoliticize this whole thing. That is allowing oneself to be subject to the Devil's division tactics.
Firstly, I feel glad you think I am digging too deep. . .I'll tell you why!

Secondly, glad you also see that Zach's comment as grammatical mispropriation, you do but I dont see it that way though. . .I'll tell you why!

Thirdly, pls note that in spiritual teaching, there is nothing to accept in 99.99999999% of a lesson if one defiles the entirety. . .I'll tell you why!

Fourthly, needless of you repointing on the good he said whilst the same time failing to attend to his rather obvious deceptive bit -ie. "doctrinal-pattern correctness claim".

Fifthly, I dont think anyone is politicizing anything. . .I strongly believe falsehood could pass as truth when we fail to see the tares amongst the wheats wink wink wink

It is a grave error for any church wheresoever to claim "absolute doctrinal correctness". Analogically its like the hand goes out saying we are the only correct part of the entire human body.

So what right has he got to feel the other parts are not so important too?. . .what makes him feel his church is the only "doctrinally correct church'?

Maybe we sure need him to make redressals before making such claims

1 Cor 12:4-11

4 Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit.

5 And there are differences of administrations, but the same Lord.

6 And there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God which worketh all in all.

7 But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal.

8 For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit;

9 To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit;

10 To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues:

11 But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will.KJV

In :38 of the video, Zac the teacher made this comment . . .if you go to a place and maybe the the church dont have the correct pattern like we have, if you feel okay you can stay.(paraphrased)

Now naturally I hate being judgemental in my views, but since the respected teacher- Zac feels "his church can claim monopoly of 'doctrinal-pattern correctness' [i.e he feels like his church CFC is the only correct church] then I guess we should look critically at points and his teachings

Can one Church really have the power to claim "doctrinal-pattern correctness"? I certainly dont think so

Not everything that God created is for us. He created the universe, we use a minimal part. He created hell as well, he created death. All there were not meant for us just like the solar system is kinda enough for us.
Another offshoot from the man - Image123, shocked

Quote from Image123,

•God created evil, but not for you to use. It's like blaming the inventor of a car because of car accidents
Your analogy seem to be betraying your adduces everytime. One moment you agree God created evil, the next moment you're saying though God created he didnt mean it for Us.

Now lets analyze the correlation between the "inventor of a car", "the car" and "car accidents".
Let's assume the inventor of the car is "God", and the car are we "Humans" would I be wrong If i assume that the car driver could be "The breathed spirit of God in man that manipulates our thoughtline"? absolutely No!

let me show you why I think so:

Proverbs 16:4 - The Lord has made everything for himself, also He created evil people for the day of desctruction

Isaiah 45:7 - "I make peace, and create evil: I the Lord do all these things"

Again, pls I'll want you to agree with me that all spirits come from God [Bible calls God the king of Spirits] and if this being the case, it therefore means he can turn people's heart [seat of God's breathed spirit] to fulfil his WILL [his invisible script].

. . ."and God hardened pharoah's heart. . ."

. . ."and a troubling spirit came from God upon Saul. . ."

Now why should we - man be blamed or exalted for the evil we see in the world, cant we just ascribe honor to the one who spake that "He himself made this evil".

Image123, We Christian should not rob God his due honor by our incessant attitude of trying to comprehend an incomprehensive God with our shallow thought-system.

Stay blessed!

@Image123,

In the thread: Are we really free moral beings or actually puppets in God's hands?

Your views were that

Quote from you Image123,
[li] Man is a free moral being created to make his choices and live his life[/li]
Now here in this thread your views play contrary when juxtaposed. You believe

Quote from you image123,
[li]God created evil, but not for you to use. It's like blaming the inventor of a car because of car accidents. The point being that the purpose of inventing was not the car accidents. Or you'd go blaming your parents for using a kitchen after you set the building on fire, and burnt it down in your kitchen escapades.
[/li]
In one view you sternly believe we are not tools (puppets) in God’s hands and as such you mean we humans are solely responsible for our choices
Now here you come up saying you believe that God created evil. Now my question exactly to you is why would someone create something that he would not have the intentions of using.

Dont you think the one who created good and evil did so that the later will try to outdo the former and vice versa? dont you think He could actually be trying to get at something beyond our comprehension.

Why would this creator say:
"He created everything and that this 'everything' was made by him for his pleasure"

God creating evil should point to the fact that the one who created the evil must have done so for a purpose. He must have done so for his pleasure.

You said God created evil. Now lets consider this adjective -
'evil' as a subject. In its subject-object relationship it would mean that this same God created "evil-men, evil-women, evil-thoughts, evil-imaginations, evil-practices".

Tell me you dont mean it this way and I'll come again.

This is because i've heard some artist bragging stuffs like. . ."my fan-base is large to make my song a hit" while others rely on the media to give more TV play-time or Radio air-time

what do you think?
