Yes u change it just like the way you change channel on your TV
Not quite so. . .maybe we should see it this way.

We should rather see God as the one with the 'remote control' and
Man as the 'remote control' and
the TV channel as 'the scheme of things better still the events that play out'.

If you understand my drift you'll agree that we are just tools in the hands of the owner.

Romans 9:21 - Does not the potter have the right to make out of the same lump of clay some pottery for noble purposes and some for common use?

Jeremiah 18:6 - "Like clay in the hand of the potter, so are you in my hand, O house of Israel."

2 Timothy 2:20 In a large house there are articles not only of gold and silver, but also of wood and clay; some are for noble purposes and some for ignoble.

Arosa:
The truth is nobody knows his/her destiny(not even the devil know it), If anyone happens to know their true destiny then It was revealed to them by God. And thus cant be changed.  lipsrsealed

Very true, no one knows their destiny. And again IMO destiny has nothing to do with accepting Jesus Christ by ALL, I strongly believe that every activity and motive as seen today make up the grand plan divinely orchestrated by the Creator.

The likes of Pharoah, Esau, Saul et al will attest to this.
Christianity EtcRe: Can We Change Our Destiny? by Tonyet1(m): 1:15pm On Nov 01, 2011
No! A destiny cannot be changed. Point is maybe we should look up the definition of destiny.

des·ti·ny (dst-n)
n. pl. des·ti·nies
1. The inevitable or necessary fate to which a particular person or thing is destined; one's lot.
2. A predetermined course of events considered as something beyond human power or control:

A destiny is not and should not be likened to a destination. All men were created to die: yes! this is a destiny because it is a necessary fate.

A destination by definition is simply but a place to which someone is sent and nothing more. Now how right will it sound to say that man's destiny is to be sent to earth. it sounds rubbish!

But rather, a clear discourse on the subject of destiny will be to ask the question "what was man created to do here?" not "where did man come from or where will man go after death?".

. . .my dream contd'. . .

the second whisper i heard brought this surprise to me such as could pass cold thru' my spines (*for those who remember dreams, sometimes you could have this dream where you could literally feel your emotions and senses and at the same time you know you'r dreaming. . .maybe its called a trans but i cant say of what i barely know)

And then i began feeling this consciousness talking to me within and it made me realise that "Jesus ascended to heaven not changing the clothes he must have worn when he resurrected, how come he could make his way through?" Secondly, does it not send the message that heaven could be full of spiritual beings wearing any sort of clothings such as could be "brown robes" and the likes.?

nuclearboy:
First, the issue of a land flowing with milk and honey - imagine if Israel owned all the land in the middle east without borders. Consider what we call "Black Gold" today; how it flows non-stop under the ground there! I therefore think it was meant, though not literall, yet again literal.

But the curses of Deuteronomy ended up sticking to them due to them breaking covenants and thus, they as it were, sold their birthright! And so they live in it yet not in it, seeing what ought to have been but not having it!

I think the allegory of heaven being paved with "Gold" also works in the same way. A street is a pathway or road or the "walk" of a man and gold being what it is, the heavenly walk WILL be one filled with treasure (knowledge, joy, peace and possible profiting in other ways), a walk to be looked forward to and which will be envied by any who miss it!
Hi Nuclearbaba,

Yeah yeah your adduces make alot of senses. . .but would i be wrong to assume that your assumptions are as good as mine and that means you believe as I do (after my dream) that our beloved home heaven may not necessarily be coated with street of gold nor a pearl gate whatsoever.

I say this on the following grounds based on your suppositions that:

You think that "the land of milk & honey" could simply have meant the same thing as "the land of black gold". If so( judging by this), it then means Heaven(where we intend to rest for awhile until our new Jerusalem come) may just be a place where we could have "a glorified earth" where all 'em bad guys arent to be found anymore.

Probably a place where the supposed "street of gold" may just be a place that could be adjudged as a "street of high value" sort of. And if this is true, it then means many lessons in the bible could be considered as allegoric. whatchathink?

In the spring of 1991 the All-Union Foreign Trade Organisation Soyuzgazexport was incorporated into the State Gas Concern Gazprom as a state-owned foreign trade entity. By December of 1991, following the organization’s transition from the jurisdiction of the Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic to that of the Russian Federation, the company became known as the State-Owned Foreign Trade Entity (GVP) Gazexport.

1993
VEP Gazexport
In 1993, the State-Owned Foreign Trade Entity Gazexport was transformed into Russian Joint-Stock Company (RAO) Gazprom’s foreign trade subsidiary, which became known as the Foreign Trade Enterprise (VEP) Gazexport.

1997
OOO Gazexport
Open joint-stock company Gazexport, a limited liability company, was established in accordance with Resolution No.39 of the Russian Joint-Stock Company Gazprom’s Board of Directors, dated April 9, 1997 and Resolution No. 53 of OAO Gazprom’s Board of Directors, dated February 12, 1998. My brother, regardless of whether you read production engineering or not, the issue is that the value of 500,000naira in 1979 is equivalent to over 500million today, and mind you we are talking about 32years.

And one more thing, from autobiography, Dangote started 1977 not 1979. . . maybe a link from to butress your bogus claim will do wonders grin. Respect to you - Mr.Production Engineer.

Check this out!

Business career

The Dangote Group, originally a small trading firm founded in 1977, is now a multi-trillion naira conglomerate with operations in Benin, Ghana, Nigeria, and Togo. Dangote's businesses include food processing, cement manufacturing, and freight. The Dangote Group dominates the sugar market in Nigeria: it is the major sugar supplier to the country's soft drink companies, breweries, and confectioners. Dangote Group has moved from being a trading company to Nigeria's largest industrial group, including Dangote Sugar Refinery (the most capitalized company on the Nigeria Stock Exchange, valued at over US$3 billion with Aliko Dangote's equity topping US$2 billion), Africa's largest Cement Production Plant: Obajana Cement, Dangote Flour amongst others.

Dangote played a prominent role in the funding of Obasanjo’s re-election campaign in 2003, to which he contributed over N200 million (US$2M). He gave N50 million (US$0.5M) to the National Mosque under the aegis of "Friends of Obasanjo and Atiku", and contributed N200 million to the Presidential Library. These controversial gifts to members of the ruling People's Democratic Party have contributed to concerns over continued graft despite highly-publicized anti-corruption drives during Obasanjo's second term.[citation needed]

On 23 May 2010, England's Daily Mirror newspaper reported that Dangote was interested in buying a 16 percent stake in Premiership side Arsenal belonging to Lady Nina Bracewell-Smith.[6] Dangote later denied these rumours.[7]

Rhino,

As far as am concerned, OBJ's 4year second term in office played THE major role in Dangote's wealth today. . .now tell me what is genius in a man that feel the only way to the top is to connive with the powers that be during OBJ's time to stop the business of a major competitor - Ibeto. are saying you have no knowledge of billion dollars failed business? . . . Take time out and read his autobiography.

I dont expect you to come back with government connection, until you show me ANY serious business thriving without government backing.
@Rhino,

Since you want references, let me show you in a simplified classroom manner:

Firstly, in 1979, the value of 1 dollar was equivalent to 0.596 naira.
Meaning naira was twice stronger than the dollar, which therefore also connotes to that fact that 500,000 naira was $838926.17 cents (Approx. $840,000) in 1979.  shocked shocked

Do you know what this value meant then?, it meant that Dangote was given a loan of $840,000 to start a bizness in 1979. My guy if you multiply this dollars against the current naira exchange, we will be talking of N138million. Meaning Dangote had N138million to start a business in 1979. Do you get it?

Now lets move further,

In 2000, the value reversed to favor the dollar, $1 became N85.98kobo meaning there was something like over a 1000% increase as against the naira. For once, lets imagine it was the naira that continued gaining strength upto 2000. We would have been talking about N1 = $85.98, now see the arithmetic

N1 = $85.98

N500,000 = $42,990,000

Inotherwords, the value in 2000 of what Dangote got as loan in 1979 to start a business was $43million.  shocked shocked shocked shocked

My guy lets assume, the naira-dollar reverse began in 2005 till date, now to get the real face value of Dangote's loan grant will be $43million X N160.

My guy make we no even calculate am.

This is to show you how Nigeria's economy as a nation has failed woefully. . .I maynot be good in accounting but simply logic will put that 500,000naira value to 500million naira today. Check this link for reference

. . .
Hi Rhino,

I beg to differ in your assertions for Dangote. . . as much as I have great regards for him and moreso his achievements. . . loaning someone N500,000 in 1979 is as equalivalent as giving someone 500million today to start a bizness,  . . my guy with that amount of money even a less-genius of a man will make a fortune if given the same time as Dangote had (2011-1979 = 32years).

Lets give him N500,000 today and watch if he'll make any head way to where he is today!

There is nothing so superspectacular about the man-Dangote.

so much for the 'self righteous teachers and their seductive tares that grow with the real wheats.

If someone tells you "you will be prosperous in Jesus name".

Do you say "Yes. and may I be so rich that I forget God Amen" or "God forbid!" or do you say "Yes. And may I be used by Him to bless others".

I mean why would you choose evil? undecided
Remember, it is what you declare with your mouth, that is what you will meet in the future.

Glad that you're back. Do you mind answering my earlier question as to whether you believe your church has an incorrect doctrinal pattern?
This is a very dumb question  undecided. . . why wont my church have correct doctrinal pattern? Besides this question has nothing to do with the issue at hand.

If you must know so as to retrace your views again, my beef is "why would Zach Pooen advice his members to attend churches that he believes have incorrect doctrinal pattern" is he doing it to look good before them?. . .because why would someone who makes you think he cares advice you to go attend a church that he "believes" does not have "correct pattern". Isnt that trying to be hypocritical?  undecided

Now answer the question  undecided
