In addition I asked a last question which you didn't answer , I quoted a scripture.

2 Kings 4:15-16
15 And he said, Call her. And when he had called her, she stood in the door. 16 And he said, About this season, according to the time of life, thou shalt embrace a son.

I would have love to know from your perspective  if the scripture above is prophecy or prayer.

TONYE, our responsibility is to pray for ministers and for the body of christ, we have no mandate to criticize ministers or churches. It will back fire, we have many unsaved people that such damaging criticism will discourage from getting saved. Our criticism doesn't change anything but our prayers changes everything. That is the mandate we have.

Colossians 4:3-4
3 Withal praying also for us, that God would open unto us a door of utterance, to speak the mystery of Christ, for which I am also in bonds: 4 That I may make it manifest, as I ought to speak.

What do you say about Eli prophecy to Hannah that she would have a son. Or  samuel prophecy, that Saul would be king. Or Elijah prophecy that food will be cheap tomorrow, or of the abundance of rain. Or Apostle Paul that declared "my God shall suply all your need"  Before we just continue to criticize ministers do we understand their perspective. That is why God is cautioning us on judgmentalism.

Prophecy simply means to speak by divine inspiration . And a man can prophesy by faith also according to his knowledge in the plan of God. I'm not aware if these men you mention don't preach or teach that members should grow spiritually or get saved. I don't deny that everything can be abused, but we should leave judgement of what we don't know to God.

Very true what you posted in OP, but you cannot expect nigerians to really count the cost of christianity before attempting to become christians.  
Please let of properly consider the verse of Luke above and then look at nigeria.

And that is if many who call themselves Christians really understand the true essence of the entity called 'Christian'.


Lately i have begun by asking questions like what does it mean to become a Christian. If Christianity was alabout making all the monies in life, building and living in the best and finest of houses and riding the sleekest of cars, then bill gates et al would have been called 'modern father of christianity'. I somehow believe these MOGs know what they are doing secretly.   May God help his church

I am not attacking Tonye-T. I just don't like this idea of evil speaking against the church. Unbelievers are watching and getting hardened . Thats 1. The second one is if we have to judge , it should be by the word , we should not condemn others .

Now i see why you've been abit harsh at others since the inception of the thread. There is this thing with humans and our belief-system and that is in a bid to protect (defensive) our beliefs we unconsciously end up wrongly offensive.

I dont see where the OP spake any evil against any church so needless your undue biase, besides we both stand for the same course - the love in the faith. . .isnt it?

But rather the thread is a move to create sobers amongst we christian faithfuls and ask thoughtful questions about the future of the christian faith within the pentecostal confines.

Tell me we should remain quiet and i will wonder why Jesus will publicly criticize the "godly-men" of his days calling them white washed sepulchre, using physical wipes on them and publicly rebuking his own disciples for their exercise of little faith.

And how do you rate Moses tabernacle of Moses and the temple of solomon. When God himself designed a structure with precious material. Should churches look like juju shrines ?

See where we Christians always make a mess of ourselves?. . .where did i say i gave a pastor friend a punch across his face?. . .lol  . . . pls quote it. .typical of the errors we make for ourselves today in churches. One guy reads a story and misinterpretes it and then climbs the alter to teach it to his congregation and then the lies continues.

Imagine if we both were preachers who command crowds in our seperate churches. . .imagine how you slight misunderstanding would stick its way in the heart of your flock and they'll send the message to thousands of generation. . .more reason why i have a fear for pentecostalism.

What forms your opinion on this? Are you talking about your own church or another church? As far as am concerned , You Should know more about your church than the system of another. If you're talking about your own church system, your assertion is still subject to be judged by the Word of God.

There is nothing wrong in reverence and respect for ministers of God. It is purely scriptural. The bible say to "ESTEEM THEM HIGHLY FOR THEIR WORK SAKE"

But those things you listed as flaws in the church is a little shocking. It is not a flaw to build a decent place of worship For God. God himself demanded the use of Gold and other things for his place of worship. It is a honour to the God we serve.
