@grabdbull, Just relax and wait for sometime because Conoil will surely bounce back and you will make your profit. Peace. |
@all, Na Wa for NSE. Every stock for NSE now na hot cake o. Even stocks that doesn't have any fundamental are experiencing price appreciation every blessed day and people are making their cool cash. I have made more money this year from stocks that doesn't have good fundamental than from stocks with sound fundamental. I must confess that there is something wrong somewhere with NSE. As per AFROIL and CAPITAL OIL, the downward trend will continue for sometime but if you still have the stocks and you did not borrow money to buy, I will advice you to hold on. The stocks will bounce back again very soon. NSE na funny place o. @ Father of 2, I hope you dey watch Eterna plc o. Peace. |
@Shigidi, Is there any news as per UBA and Diamond?. Peace. |
@all. As per Transcorp, the people that are still buying are those that controls the market(mopping up). Transcorp will be coming back to the floor of NSE very soon in a big way (info from a reliable source). Na wa for Niger o; wonders shall never end. If you have a small liver, please don't put your money in Transcorp now. Peace. |
@ioma, Thanks for the cartoons. |
@emotimi, If you have a current account with UBA PLC already, you don't have to open another current account. The person that told you to open another current account was just trying to exploit you---he or she wants you to pay more money to UBA PLC. Do not go through UBA NRN PROGRAM. You can get intouch with UBA STOCKBROKERS direct and tell them that you want to open a brokerage account and that they should send the application form to you via e-mail. You can get intouch with UBA STOCKBROKERS through this e-mail address: ubastockbrokers@ubagroup.com. You should always stand your ground when dealing with UBA NRN reps. Hope this help. Peace. |
@ Prince11, If you still have some money left, enter eterna again. The price will continue to rise. I bailed out early but I have entered again and I have made some reasonable gain already. Peace. |
@ Samstone4, What's up with Trascorp? |
ok. |

@ALL. Stockbroker counsels investors By Agency Reporter Published: Thursday, 31 Jan 2008 A Stockbroker,Mr Yemi Olumide, today in Lagos, advised investors to redefine their reasons for investing in quoted firms. Olumide gave the advice against the backdrop of complaints by some investors on what they termed ”undue delay” in the payment of dividends and bonuses by some quoted companies. Olumide, who is of the Professional Stockbrokers Limited, told the News Agency of Nigeria that unlike in the past when investors were contended only with gettingdividends and bonuses, today‘s investors invest for capital appreciation. According to Olumide, while dividend and bonus payments yield little returns because they are also an aspect of investing, capital appreciation is more beneficial. He explained that before dividends could be declared, investors would have to wait for the companies to close their register which, he said, usually took some time. He described the Nigeria capital market as being on the upward trend with better prospects for investors. “Today, there is more sophistication in the trading activities at the Exchange. The market looks very futuristic,” he said. FROM PUNCH NEWSPAPER. |

elemu:Even if you don't put in huge amount of money, you can still make some money. As regards some stocks, you may not be able to make 20%; just get out with whatever your gain maybe. Inasmuch as you are not losing money after paying your commissions, be happy with yourself. Peace. |
@Windywendy, What is you take on UTC PLC?. Peace. |
son5070:If this is correct, then I don't think any reasonable person should buy IPOs / POs again. Peace. |

@ALL, DAAR COMMUNICATIONS (AIT) TO GO PUBLIC SOON Daar Communications Plc is set to be the first broadcast company to be listed on the Nigerian Stock Exchange following its application to offer shares to the investing public. News of the owners of Ray Power FM and African Independent Television (AIT) going public broke last year. However, THISDAY can exclusively report that the company has formerly applied to offer its shares for public subscription. THISDAY checks revealed that Daar Communications Plc has applied to the NSE to make an Initial Public Offering of 1,829,478,000 ordinary shares of 50 kobo each at N5 per share for public subscription. Also, another 9,60,000,000 shares will be issued to the investing public by a way of offer for sale. In offer for sale, the shares are already being held by some investors but are being sold to new investors. The proceeds will not be used for the operations of the company but will go the owners of the shares. At the N5 offer price, Daar Commuincations will be realising about N13.947 billion from the offers. While N9.147 billion will come from the IPO and will be used to improve its operations, N4.8 billion will come from the offer for sale. Although other details of the application such as the specific purpose for the funds and when the offers will open are still sketchy, reliable capital market sources said that the Quotation Committee of the NSE is being awaited to approve the application. “I can confirm to you that Daar Communications Plc has submitted its application to the NSE to raise funds from the market. The details will be made known after the NSE Quotation Committee has given its approval,” a source close to NSE said. After the offer, the shares of the company will then be listed on the NSE. Last year the market witnessed 12 listings. They include Dangote Sugar Refinery Plc, Continental Reinsurance Plc, Custodian & Allied Insurance Plc, Staco Insurance Plc, International Energy Insurance Plc and Oasis Insurance Plc. Others are Airline Services & Logistics Plc, Ikeja Hotel Plc, Red Star Express Plc, Big Treat Plc, National Sport Lottery Plc and Deap Capital Management and Trust Plc. The Director-General of the NSE, Prof. Ndi Okereke-Onyiuke had last week said that the market would witness improved activities including new listings this year. It was gathered that very soon another insurance company, Regency Insurance Plc will be listed on the NSE by introduction at N1.75 per share. A total of 4,850,000,000 shares of Regency Insurance will be listed. FROM THISDAY . |
