Hello to all the guru's in the House, Pumping 777, Geees, Dollarmani, Easimoni, Wanaj0, Roughcut etc.

You guys are doing a very good job and we really appreciate all your efforts. Keep up the good work.

Now to my question: I have about 100k that i want to use to buy mutual fund from Cashcraft and
Union trustees ltd but am not all that convinced as regards the returns on funds compared to shares/stock.

Based on experience, I want each of you guys to kindly give professional advice as per whether i should use the money to buy funds or shares, having in mind that i can take risk to some extent.

All insurance companies have been on free fall - just doing yo yo dance.

Hi Geees/yodiyokun,

If you are to put these three banks on a scale(scale of preference)
in terms of purchase if you are to buy and you have the money,
how will the scale look like?.

hello,

Is it possible for someone to view/check his CSCS ACCOUNT ON LINE
even if there is nothing (shares) in the account yet?.

My sister tried to check her account on line to see if it works properly
although for now she has nothing in the account and the account refused to open.

She had already paid all the necessary fees. The system told her that her password
was not correct which is not true.

What is going on here?.

wanaj0,

Thanks for the reply.

The guy had not been to Nigeria for quite sometime now so he will need some other info. from you.

1. Like how much do you think the affidavit will cost ?.

2. How much will the newspaper advert cost and what is the procedure to follow?.

3. For the signatures, does he need bank confirmation for both old and new signatures?

4. Do you have an idea of how long this process will take before completion because the guy has about ten certificates from different companies/banks?.

Waiting to hear from you.

TO ALL GURUS IN THE HOUSE,

A friend of mine bought some shares (PO) some years back before he travelled out of the country. Since  everybody is now talking about capital market, he now remembered that he has some certificates in his Bank safe deposit in Niger.

The problem with the certificates are so many that he is about losing hope as per scaling through with verification anytime he goes back to Niger.

These are the issues:

1. His surname has changed
2. His postal address has changed
3. He has new next of kin
4. His signature has changed although he can still sign his old signature
5. He has no broker and not willing to hire one

He intend to travel to Nigeria next month and go straight to the offices of all the registrars of the companies where he bought the shares to explain to them and to do his verification without a broker.

GURUS in the house, is this possible?. If the answer is yes, what are things he will need in terms of documents before going to see the registrars?.
InvestmentRe: Stock Market Tips For Nigerians by tonyjon(m): 7:32am On Oct 22, 2007
This is my answer based on current prices and other opportunities I think exists in the market today bearing in mind that ultimately my funds are limited. I have stocks from some companies below I say I won't buy today but I bought them cheaper than todays prices.

FIDELITY BANK PLC - No
FCMB PLC Yes, PO
BANK PHB No, Maybe PO after seeing the prospectus
AFRIBANK PLC - No, Maybe PO after seeing the prospectus
SKYE BANK PLC - No
FIRST INLAND BANK PLC - No
WEMA BANK PLC - Yes, it is my gamble stock. It could be another AP
IBTC PLC. - No

So, Pumping 777, for all the ones you said you cannot buy, can you buy them for long term investment if you have money?.

Hi NAZZYON,

1. I am not a guru when it comes to stocks and funds but from my little experience, I will like to advise you to buy more of Bedrock and Anchor funds because there is every tendency that Cashcraft will meet their projections and moreover, the funds are very cheap.

2.You can use the remaining money to buy ARM FUND. They are coming to the market on Monday, Oct. 29,2007 with an offer(IPO) @ # 20.00 PER UNIT. and the minimum you can buy is 50,000.

Hi NBA,

You must be a professional when it comes to stock business. Thank you very much for all your good advise. I have really gained a lot from you and other contributors

Now, I have some questions for you.
1. I recently opened an account with a stockbroking firm and they assisted me to open a CSCS ACCOUNT and I also bought some shares through them (IPO). I am still expecting my shares to be credited to my CSCS ACCOUNT.

This is the question: Is it possible for me to change to another stock broker now?. I want to change because I want a stock broker with good track record.

2. If you have all these stock broking firms on your list, 1. ZENITH SECURITIES, 2. ESL(ECOBANK) SECURITIES, 3. UBA SECURITIES, 4. VETIVA CAPITAL , 5. LEAD CAPITAL AND 6. FUTURE VIEW. Which one will you choose or select, I mean the one you will use as your broker?.

Waiting to hear from you.
