Hail Snydra!!!

I laugh when people on this thread say Snyder's fans are minority. This should be an eye-opener...lmao

Now, He got an Oscars. Pretty impressive, hey. It was meant to be ZSJL but it was ineligible because of earlier Josstice League version.

What did Whedon do again?
Tried to correct a 4 hour movie and that was so drab WB knew it would flop in theaters...

Before you say it wouldn't have flopped, It was free on HBOmax and it's numbers were incredibly average.... Infact, considering the movie for what it is, JUSTICE LEAGUE, it's numbers were paltry, almost abysmal.. grin grin grin

Where are the numbers from HBOmax? Show us your source?

Foreign Affairs / 3 Russian Helicopters Destroyed In Ukrainian Offensive At Kherson by TonySpike: 4:03pm On Mar 16, 2022
The Ukrainian military destroyed a number of Russian military helicopters at the Kherson International Airport Tuesday, new satellite images from Planet Labs show.

A large black plume of smoke is seen rising from the airport in the satellite image, with a number of helicopters on fire. It's the most destructive known strike the Ukrainian military has conducted against Russian helicopters during the war, with at least three Russian helicopters seen on fire, or destroyed, at the airport.

Military vehicles seen near the airport have also been hit. According to the sensory data collected by FIRMS, the military strike occurred around 1:42 p.m. local time.

Someone said in the comments that Snyder's fans are in the minority. The data says otherwise, ZSJL did the heavy lifting for HBO Max last year. And now, Army of Dead, may well be on the way to earn a fan favourite Oscars this year.

This is the streaming data WB was scared of releasing all the while.

Bro, I don't even understand how you guys do your own analysis, and from the looks of things it seems you don't even understand how the industry works as regards financial analysis of Box office.

Batman has a budget of $200M, let's assume the marketing budget is $300M, that will bring the total to $500M, which means the Break Even Point (BEP) is $500M. The BEP is the amount a movie has to gross before it can be considered a profit or before it can be said to be out of the danger zone, at that point the movie is neutral, it's neither profitable except it goes beyond it or a loss except it gross beneath it. The BEP is always the budget amount which in this case is the sum of the marketing and production budget.

So if the BEP of The Batman is $500M (by assumption of a $300M marketing budget which will be the highest), a $800M BO gross will mean $300M gross profit, how's that a FAILURE?

But since we don't know the Marketing budget, the standard model to calculate the BEP is to go with the 3X multiplier of the production budget which will be $600M, a $800M BO gross will mean $200M gross profit. So how is that a FAILURE?

Note, I'm not talking about net profit, rather gross profit because for net profit, a lot of behind the scenes expenditures are going on which we will never know about, so we have to wait for the studio to tell us.

So which makes me ponder on how The Batman with an $800M gross is actually going to be a failure?

Now look at this, The Batman with such gross won't be a disappointment, not one bit, because

1.) The movie is a standalone film on it's own, it's not part of the DCEU where you will say it's a big movie of the franchise. It's just a movie on it's own so the whole "must gross a billion shit" doesn't affect it neither does it have it on it's shoulders.

2.) $800M gross in standard Hollywood rating is a high grosser, as a matter of fact, in Hollywood, from $700M upward is regarded as a high grosser in standard Hollywood rating. So any movie that grosses that level is seen as a high grosser, so yes The Batman with a $800M BO gross is a high grosser, even with a $700M gross, it's still a high grosser

3.) The movie is the first movie in a trilogy, it's not even the climax but just the launcher of the trilogy. So why will it or should it shoulder such responsibility of being a billion dollar grosser to be termed a success. Nobody in his right senses will even heap such responsibility on the movie except the person just want to be unnecessarily bias. Right now, the expectation especially from the studio is for the movie to be a high grosser (from $700M and above) and to be profitable.

So there's no way an $800M dollar The Batman will be termed a failure, if you think otherwise, then it's just in your head. The standard Hollywood analysis says otherwise. It's just something you sat in your house and conceived, it doesn't exist which means your statement is purely based on emotions not the FACTS.

It doesn't work that way. Only about 60% of the box office returns goes back to WB. It's even lower for international box office.

Bro, there is no CBM released on streaming platform that won't be intensively pirated.
At least not the very poor reception from cinema goers.....
That movie never appeal to the wider audience like you think, if not we won't got a box office disaster.
Movies like The Conjuring, Space Jam, Tom and Jerry and few other WB movies debuted day and day with their streaming platform: HBO Max but still managed to outgross TSS either domestically or world wide. And it's no brainer to know those movies I mentioned here are not even better movies ( very poor movies ).

Even Zack Snyder's Army of the Dead which was heavily pirated become one of the top ten movies of all time on Netflix. Let them bring more excuses for TSS.

Bros, flashpoint won't do anything, trust me. You go dey here when the reviews and hate flood in na. There was nothing wrong with what Snyder wanted. WB messed up his vision from the on set. Having him form a dceu when the original plan was a trilogy. Reducing the length of a film that was intended to start the dceu. Everything was just against the man. WB didn't know what they want, and they didn't let the man they hired to do his work. You think flashpoint would reset things while we don't know what happened to Superman or even grew to know Superman and Batman well or even what the world of the dceu is like? What WB are trying to reset won't fly. They'll cancel it after audience review bomb it and they notice a lack of interest if the rumors of casting aside Cavill, Affleck for a female version is true.

Don't be surprised if you start hearing about "The Flash" reshoots in a fire brigade manner, very soon. This is the most likely scenario.

I stop commenting here cause it shows we mostly have WB fans here and not DC fans.
Imagine turning DC's trinity into girls girls thing!!!

It seems like WB didn't learn from Birds of Prey mistake. Unfortunately, these silly decisions will only sink their movie watchability to zero in the nearest future. I wonder who's still advising them on these silly decisions.

There's no snyder to repeat that again. Synder that believes there is Logic to everything ruined those franchises. The raw materials (aka the comics) never felt that way. There is a reason WB decided to recast the DK. Let's just wait and see.

Even without Snyder, how many DC movies have actually performed well?

I'm with you on this...

I have read the comic books and played the games, so watching that animation left a sour taste in my mouth...
The way they killed Flash made me angry, the worst part is that nobody remembered him after he died.
The pacing was too fast.
Dick Grayson's return was done badly, didn't take long and boom he's back.
In the comic, it was a Deadman's death that paved the way for Dick's return.
But the JL Dark didn't even show.

Why didn't they turn this into a limited series like Invincible instead of jampacking everything under an hour and 18 mins long film.

A missed opportunity.

Too many storylines crammed into one animated movie. Later, they will say Snyder crammed too much into one movie. I was a little disappointed with this animation after watching a better DC animation, Batman The Long halloween. It's a shame.

Minemrys and myself were one of the starters of this thread. We were so excited back then for the WB DC projects. But 6 years after, our excitements have seriously dampened. I find it unusual that some peeps are still looking forward to DC projects. At best, take all the upcoming hypes with a pinch of salt and don't raise up your hopes too much. WHY?
I thought most of us wanted something close to the MCU....
That's the main problem with this coconut heads WB execs, they don't feel like building something unique, all they want is/was just a piece of MCU cake....always love to downplay intensive and captivating scenes with lame jokes....
I pray Amazon do something big so I don't have to bother myself watching an MCU movie in DCEU...

Count me out. I don't want anything close to MCU. WB is gambling with their properties and they will surely pay for it with box office underperformances. TSS box office failure is just the beginning.

Hope you know that movie had a leggy run? It didn't just make a huge bucks then drop the following weeks. It had no effect. What would you say of fast and furious? Or films that are critically acclaimed only to have their sequels be underperformers financially. David Ayer SS had nothing to do with this considering this one had a "" rating according to you guys.
3 things made it to underperform, which ironically it isn't.
The contemporary time. Online release and the R rating. It's a hit on streaming, so quit all those nonsense talk of underperforming.

David Ayer's Suicide Squad was quite profitable inspite of the interference of WB.

Ironically that's how time travel is. You are creating timelines and not returning to your original time. Flash time travel has always been based on consequences. Flashpoint, new 52 etc.

The last season of Agents of SHIELD reflects the use of practical time-travelling. There's a Korean TV series called "Sisyphus", the time-travelling is quite practical also. I believe there are lots of example from media to be adopted. Mind you, I am not mentioning "The Flash" series itself because that series is thrashy after the first two seasons.
