SportsRe: Reasons Keshi Was A Failure. by tonytony208(m): 10:00am On Jul 05, 2014
chigo93: My op Is right. football is now termed sports science, keshi needs to g back and learn the technicalities involved in modern football as he seems an inept gaffer.keshi in my opinion does not understand all d strenghts and weaknesses of that 23 man squad he took to the worldcup,if not, a guy like ruben gabriel shouldn't have played a part in the france game,a guy like mikel obi should have been substituted and a player like ramon azzez brought on to relief onazi off his defensive duties ,so that he can make those forward runs.A player like egwuekwe has no business in that team, still keshi took him!we don't want to be local champions,we need someone who has a calculated plan to win games for Nigeria in the world stage.
then Spain and England dropped out of WC because their coaches lack technicalities, abi?
SportsRe: Reasons Keshi Was A Failure. by tonytony208(m): 7:50am On Jul 05, 2014
Vestar: That is the problem we have as Nigerians. Bro, I have nothing personal against keshi. I am a patriotic Nigerian but I don't let that blind my judgement. The achievements you mentioned above are lame! That same nations cup, have you forgotten in a hurry that we were 10mins away from being eliminated in a group comprising Zambia, Ethiopia, and Burkina faso? The only tough opposition we faced in that competition was 'underachievers' ivory coast! For the first time in many world cups we were in the easiest of all groups! Bosnia is a rookie in world football, iran likewise. It is no big deal qualifying from such group. For your information we've won only 1game this year. Nigerians keep using the word 'try'! What do you mean by try? Did you watch USA vs Belgium? Even when USA went 2goals down in extra-time what happenedhuh Yes they eventually bowed out, but such remarkable performance demanded recommendation and that's what one calls 'try'! Yes we won Nations cup, what happened in confed cup? What happened in world cup? Players clashing on a football pitch shows tactical error from the team! Let me state another case of keshi's tactical error. In the confed cup against Uruguay, the goal scored by forlan was caused by our two full backs overlapping as well as our holding midfielder @ the same time. The three got carried away by the flow of the game and we were broken down with 1 forward pass to the wing! I bet you, keshi's team wouldn't have had the idea to exploit the error with that long pass to the exposed wing. The truth remains that keshi is clueless! He has just been lucky to play weaker teams! Imagine playing ethiopia in a 1 match world cup qualifier.. Why was it not egypt?? Ghana?? Cameron?? Senegalhuh Why wasn't he drawn in Ghana's group in the world cup in place of Ghana? Or even algeria's group?? As far as I am concerned, We have to build a particular football pattern from our u-17 to senior level. We need a coach that can make us play like our u-17, fast and entertaining football. That is the trademark of Nigerian football, that was why neutrals loved us in tournaments(remember USA 1994? Atlanta 1996?). I blame sia1 for accepting the super eagles job when he did, he would've allowed austin eguoaven to finish his job during the qualifiers. Sia1 remains the only technical indigenous! To avoid controversies, let's go for klinsman, pekerman(columbia's coach) chile's coach or costa rica's coach! Give the person 4years contract to lead us to 2018 world cup. You said I havnt achieved anything in life? How old are you please??
your analysis is regrettably filled with sentiment. You gave a man 2 and a half years to work with completely new team and you want him to perform magic. Despite the short period of time, he still won afcon after being with the team for just 365 days. The team were only able to come together about 10% of that period due to club involvement. Yet they still won the cup . And here you are, the destructive critic, calling a hard won victory "mere luck". That means your being able to write in English or any success you ever had in your life could be due to "mere luck" and not because you deserve any of them. It is surprising you call CIV under achievers. That CIV led their group in afcon. The Zambia you call nobody in football were the previous winners of afcon before SE detroned them. If you meet with pple who understand football, they will enlighten you that there are no minions in football anymore. Maybe you need to ask Spain and England about that. How will you qualify nigeria-ethiopia matches during WC qualifiers when we beat them both home and away? Will you call that luck too? Do you know why Belgium is in the WC semifinals? It is because they gave their coach lots of time and freedom to work. When we won the afcon, why didn't you raise issues? But now that we were eliminated by France that is well rated than us your eyes suddenly opened and you are claiming you don't let that blind your judgement. Where was that your unblinded judgement when we beat Bosnia? It was on "sleep mode", right? Of course you are sentimental and your appraisal is biased and unreasonable. Maybe you also need to be enlightened that all the teams we met this year are rated ahead of us. Even Bosnia is ahead of us and yet we beat them. It is clear you are only here to make a case for siasia. But either you like it or not siasia has NEVER measured up to keshi anymore in terms of achievements. Do you also know that keshi is rated as the 22nd best coach in the world cup?

Sth is wrong with Yoruba politicians
governors in eastern states have successfully eradicated poverty in their states and that is exactly why you can't stay in your state but run down to southwest. That is also why you would rather die on your claim on lagos; and yet southwest is poverty ridden. Why not go back to your gully eroded states that has been turned by your governors to ELDORADO? I even want to ask: let's assume your yearn for biafra republic bcomes reality, how do you plan to handle your claim on lagos?

rosebowl01: I think they need to start testing coaches for drugs before or after games. This Keshi guy announced that he is resigning, then he said his contract ended that he never "quit".
He clearly is more of a typical Nigerian politician than a football coach. He is just looking for ways to stay in the headlines, and negotiate for an improved contract (more money). To him, the Super Eagles is just a business entity.
Let him go to those other countries that he indirectly keeps using to threaten Nigerians. They will continue to give him the Togo treatment (use and dump until he looses value). Useless man.
it is you who actually has problem. It is either you turn your browse upside down while reading the info, or you were reading the back of your browser, or you actually closed your eyes completely while reading, or you were reading it from right to left as if you were reading arabic language.
Keshi did not say he resigned. He simply said his contract has ended with the SE. The contract he signed with nff ended naturally after Nigeria's final match at world cup.

it is because of pple like you that we will never make impact in football on the world stage. Don't ur head show you the danger of hiring and firing coaches indiscriminately? No wonder those bear stomach dosent allow him to think technically. Too much Egos but one of the luckiest coach on this soil.

donphilopus: We should stop encouraging this guy called Keshi, wrongly. The guy likes publicising himself. Btw, I thought he'd resigned, or was that just a publicity stunt?! Like Babayaro earlier said, “Keshi is confused”.

People like Keshi, Yobo and the useless/clueless Mikel Obi shouldn't have had their way back to Nigeria, because they've failed us as a country. What happened to Sanni Kaita after the 2010 World Cup, should have also happened to these useless guys!
it is surprising that up to 15 pple liked ur post. It only means at least 15 pple are as thoughtless as urself.
You were so stupid to compare sanni keita to any of the players. The only players that can ever be compared to keita are not even in the super eagles; they are in Uruguay and France in the hunan forns of suarez and matuidu (whatever the spelling).

How did keshi failed you as a nation? By paying his own assistant's salary because nff refused to pay? By staying for 7 months without pay? By spending his money along with amokachi to buy training equipments for SE? By winning the nation's cup for you after you have waited hopelessly for 19 solid years? By transforming the team siasia couldn't manage well to Africa champions? By performing wonders at the chan competition where he beat south africa on their home turf and turned the table against morroco in a most dramatic manner? By performing well against Argentina and France?

It is either you don't know the meaning of "he has failed us as a nation" or you intentionally turned your eyes away from his achievements.

cos i dont think he has anything new. he has seen it all nations cup, confed cup and world cup
thiers no new challenge except we want to go and play inter space cup in jupita.
let him go as nigerias ambasador to other country just like argentina is giving coaches to most of the south american countries.

lets Get Siasia to come and do is own. we have four year to start planing now for Russia 2018
we need Siasia discipline fast attacking football.

no foriengh coach please we can do it
siasia did his bit and couldn't qualify us for 2011 nation's cup. Keshi qualified us for nation's cup and also won it. Mr commenter does it now sound sensible to you that we should dump a tested-and-proved person for a tested-and-found-wanting person?
SportsRe: Reasons Keshi Was A Failure. by tonytony208(m): 6:57pm On Jul 03, 2014
Keshi won the nation's cup as a player and a coach.

Keshi won the nation's cup after nigeria had waited for 19 years!

Keshi won the nation's cup relatively unknown and untested players.

Keshi qualified nigeria for world cup top in our group unlike in previous qualifying editions.

Keshi took a bunch of rookies to south africa for chan and he did excellently (that was the first time nigeria would be qualifying for chan)

keshi did wonderfully well with the team against france and Argentina.

Keshi was the one paying his assistant 4 the past 2 and a half years

keshi and amokachi were the ones contributing money to buy training equipments for national team

keshi was never given accomodation or means of mobility for 2 and a half years.

Nff owed him up to 7 months and he was working within that period without complaining.

So mr. Thoughtless OP, which of the points above is synonymous to failure?

Keshi has so many achievements in his record within a period of 2 and a half years. Now you op, what achievement do you have yet in your life? Since you haven't achieved anything noteworthy in your life, do you think you have any moral justification to call anyone a failure? No you don't.

Since you have called keshi a failure, what then will you call spanish, English, ghana and cote d ivore's coaches? Mr man you are thoughtless!

I don't believe this. Ffk can't desire osun state ticket; knowing fully well that the incumbent is the accepted bride by all party members for 2nd term. In my opinion, you are only trying to make ffk look bad ; probably in an attempt to cover up the muslim-muslim ticket thing. I remember ffk threatend to expose apc's link with boko haram. Is that why you are doing this; posting a defaming story about him to discredit his revelations when they finally come? I was thinking you guys in apc (you wrote that you are an "inside" member) will learn from ekiti election and realize that social media advocacy can't save you from shame and defeat. Fayemi and his e-warriors did it tirelessly like you are doing now. Yet they failed at the poll. Do you think what you have written will make me see apc as not being a muslim and hausa party having active link with boko haram? Am sorry to say sir, you have failed. yeah you are right. We should go back to military rule; since nigeria got her best forms of development under military rule. I just can't stop appreciating the developments abacha and IBB including OBJ brought us as military rulers. They were so wonderful to the extent that naira became a useless currency the world over under their watch. They were also so wonderful to raise agriculture to the glorious and enviable pinnacle of complete decadence. If not for their better understanding of nation building, the wonderful and progressive seed of corruption wouldn't have been sown. Can you imagine that we have been eating the palatable fruit of corruption for years now since it was sown by the capable hands of IBB? Shouldn't that tell us that IBB and all military men are pple who can sow into the future? And believe me bro, it is always a soothing balm to have your rights trampled under jackboots; believe me it is so soothing. Once more bro, you are very much on point. Pls let the soilders come in. Mr analyst, which of the replacements you mentioned measures up to keshi in experience? Do you realize keshi had coached 3! african countries and have achieved enviable results with the 3? Where did you even put ur brain while doing this pullhimdown analysis?
SportsRe: Super Eagles - The Way Forward by tonytony208(m): 9:48pm On Jul 02, 2014
Your intentions are very WRONG! It is very clear you have some hatred for Keshi. It is because of pple like you that football is dying in nigeria. Did u watch the nation's cup at all? When last did you see SE play like dat (especially the games against mali and CIV)? Those brilliant displays that kill joy (aka pull him down) like you will never notice is courtesy of the man you called heady. This same keshi took unknown players to chan and beat south Africa on their home turf; they went further to beat Morocco from 3 goals down to win the match 4-3. B4 The chan competition, nobody gave the players any chance except their coach (keshi) who believed in them. Yet pple like you think such a man isn't fit enough to continue with the SE. When last did SE played so brilliantly against Argentina and france like they did during the WC? may be 20 years ago. Am certain dat backward minded souls like u were never expecting such display from our players. And those great performances that pullhimdown like you don't see as anything special were courtsey of the man you love to pull down. Yeah nff should employ a new coach so that he can start from scratch again. They should get new hands that had never been there with the players 3 years ago when this rebuilding started so that he can start all over again with his own choice of players, strange ideas and methods of instructions that the players were never used to. At the end of the day, SE will go back to the dust. Pple like you are always quick to compare SE to the Belgian team without using your hate-filled head to think properly. Do you know why the Belgian team is in the quarter final today? It was because they took time developing their football. They actually gave their coach 9 good years to work on the team. Keshi had only spent 3 yrs with the team and he already has excellent results to show for it. If it is a foreign coach will you call for his removal after all his achievements? No you won't. I am certain the reason your head is so filled with hate for keshi to the extent that you can't think right anymore is because he didnt invite ike uche. Did keshi not invite ike uche for nation's cup? What did ike uche contribute to the team? Did we not win the nation's cup with ike uche warming the bench? Strangely enough, same ike uche that is making you loose your sense went to score goals for his club few weeks after the nation's cup. What form did he suddenly develop in his club that he couldn't show during the nation's cup? Pple like u will never come to terms with the reality that club form doesn't always translate to national team performance. If the nff is as hateful and full of bile like u and they don't want nigeria's futball to develop, they will heed your advice.

mikeansy: the players should be disciplined and loyal enough to give the NFF the benefit of the doubt until after the world cup

its just a one month tournament

they can not make noise about being in Brazil to serve their country when all they do is check their bank accounts in real time!

Do the players feed themselves? do they pay their hotel bills themselves? why cant they keep the money talk until after the tournament? African teams need to stop these bonus rows. its embarrassing!

where the rest of us work, we wait till the end of the month before we get paid! why cant rich footballers who claim to serve their country wait until after world cup before making noise about money?
have you ever heard of european, asian or american country players complaining about payments? No. It is not because they are patriotic; it is because their countrys' FAs pay them as and when due. Don't forget that it was nff that promised to pay at a particular time and failed to pay as promised. If am in the players' shoes, i will do the same. Pot bellied politicians are not to be trusted.
SportsRe: Super Eagles Set Bonus Row Aside by tonytony208(m): 2:41am On Jun 28, 2014
mikeansy: na wa o

can they just focus on the game itself untill after the world cup?

do the players believe that after the world cup if they are not paid what is due to them someone in high places can not step in?

why cant they just play for the country and talk about money later.

You can not claim to serve your country when all you talk about is money. Employees of most organisations get paid at the end of the month after working. The world cup last for a little over a month. Why cant Nigerian players be patient and just focus on football itself until after the world cup?
you commented like you aren't a nigerian or not in nigeria. You wrote that employers pay at month ending and the players are only asking to be paid the DUE money. Havent the fg made money available b4 the WC? Why then is nff failing to pay? Of course these pot bellied politicians are not to be trusted. Believe me, nff may fail to pay them when the WC ends.
