CareerRe: Office Dating: For Or Against? by topkin(m): 11:33am On Jan 02, 2008
Personally, it's a big NO!!! I think it may not be healthy for the organization and also for the parties involved. If smthin goes wrong, trust me, it's going to be the topic of the month!! grin
RomanceRe: Should A Man Know His Wife Or Girlfriend's Past? by topkin(m): 1:34am On Jan 02, 2008
It's not necessary and pls dnt pry into knowing it. It definitely won't help. It would make the relationship worse except ans except u truly have a forgiving and christlike heart. But in its totality its absolutely not necessary!!!

Nairaland GeneralRe: How Do You Feel When Your Post Is Not Replied To? by topkin(op): 12:44am On Jan 02, 2008
I aslo feel as the moderator, if a topic is repeated, try ur best to let that person know it has been posted before so the person can refer to the earlier post. It'll help too. smiley
Nairaland GeneralRe: How Do You Feel When Your Post Is Not Replied To? by topkin(op): 12:39am On Jan 02, 2008
There are a lot of posts that people don't reply to, especially those posts that have zero replies. I have some myself.

I feel people have preference for certian topics which is ok though , but I also feel we owe ourselves an obligation on this forum to try as much as possible to help those who are in dire need of some answers to their questions. Agreed, some topics may be outrightly dumb in nature but we culd, at the least, encourage that person and make a better individual of him, just my opinion and make him feel happy too (or at least, know his/her mistakes). It's really sad when you need some answers and none is forth coming. sad It's really depressing atimes. embarassed

Let's try and be our brother's keeper. Thanks
Nairaland GeneralHow Do You Feel When Your Post Is Not Replied To? by topkin(op): 12:08am On Jan 02, 2008
I put up some posts/threads at times and I'm so sad and embarrassed it is not replied to or even viewed!!! shocked

How do u feel when ur post is not viewed or replied to? For me it's very embarrassing and painful. I just feel it's an effort in futility and it really makes me look like a fool sometimes, as if the thread is not even relevant at all embarassed embarassed

What about you? How do u feel?
CareerRe: Do You Have A Career Mentor? by topkin(m): 12:02am On Jan 02, 2008
I think the reason most people don't av a mentor is because of the fact that most people want to make the best of themselves and not rely on anybody to do that. Most people try to carve a niche for themselves and struggle independently to do it.

Most Nigerians don't av a mentor cos even in that field of endavour they are in, there is really nobody (locally) to look up to   (and that's a fact) and u av to look inward b4 u look outward!! In Nigeria of today, there are very few pple you can look up to, save for friends and colleagues. My mentor is actually a friend of mine.

We were not brought up like that, so don't blame people for not having mentors; but I think it's high time we started having one!!! I believe it's going to define our pathway and make us really have a focus in life. Best of luck in having one!

I think it's:
1. The Doggedness
2. The Resileience
3. The Bullish attitude
4. The Ruggedness and
5. The "Suffering and Smiling attitude"

That's why, i think, I call myself a Nigeian!!! smiley cheesy grin

top_kin:
Seun, when you post a new topic, how do you tag it "New" and is there a way u can make it more noticeable/give it a high priority level?

Why do some posts make the home page and some don't, especially if the one that does not make it to the home page is a replica of one that was posted before?

CareerHow Much Is A Reasonable Salary In Nigeria? by topkin(op): 11:20pm On Jan 01, 2008
I work with a communications company and I must say my salary is okay compared with my counterparts, but funny enough it seems not to be enough
!!  huh

Is it the economy that's too bad, my responsibilities that's too much, my lifestyle that's too flambouyant, which i don't think it is, or the salary itself that's not enough? I don't really know?

How much can really be enough in Nigeria, salary wise?

CareerYour Goal(s) For 2008: How Do You Achieve It? by topkin(op): 12:45pm On Dec 31, 2007
Hello there,
I want to believe every individual has set for him/herself certain goals to be achieved in the year 2008. Some are big and some are small. Some are short termed while some are long termed. Most of these goals are somewhat financially based and some non-financial.

But whatever your goal is, have you thought of the means of achieveing it? I have certain goals in mind, like: buying a car, a land, getting closer to God etc. But sincerely some of these aims of mine I really do not know how I'm going to achieve them, huh

Do you have some goals in mind? How do u hope to achieve them? Maybe I could learn>>>
