The trending act now is by collecting students slippers (palms), where University students have to work with their legs in the school premises, stupidly of the highest order but please is it like this in your school?

joefredd006: lol. the school didn't advertise their services like landmark, bowen, leadcity and the rest. you decided to apply. they have their simple and reasonable rules, but no; you'll rather have it your way. Dress decently, you won't. wear your school identity cards while on school premises, mbanu, who dey talk. So the authorities decided to use mild embarrassing techniques to curb your exuberances. for indecent dressing, they seize your tag or ask you to come get your shoes at the disciplinary office. saves you from being suspended each time you dress like a motor park tout or a ho on duty. I finished from there and have been 'around' the school for 7 years, still haven't seen or heard of a physical confrontation between a lecturer and a student. So behave yourself, and you won't have a reason to look over your shoulders


Well spoken bro, graduated from the institution 9years back and still a regular visitor on the campus yet no such act can be traced to any lecturer in the school. Op should remember he is no more in their village and behave like a civilized fellow. Let the school pass through you bro and be honest next time you post on any forum.

My Boss and I were returning from a retreat at one of the hotels in Lekki when we saw a group of young men with a huge Sea turtle at the roundabout close to Chevron. At first we decided to ignore this scene and drive on but the thought of what would become of the turtle if it got into the wrong hands wouldn’t let us be. So we decided to turn around and discuss with these young men. We asked what they wanted to do with the turtle and they said they wanted to sell it. We asked how much, and was told 20,000naira, we were able to negotiate the price with them and beat it down to 17,000naira.
At this point the turtle was looking very weak and tired, so we put her in the car and started driving. We considered returning her to the sea or taking her to Lekki conservation centre; but for the fact that she acted very weak and lethargic and this would only make her an easy prey for larger animals in the Sea, we decided to go with the latter option.
While wondering what could have made her return to land, even to the extent of getting captured, pop! she dropped an egg right there in the car. Apparently she was pregnant and only came to land to lay her eggs.
While driving to Lekki Conservation Centre, we decided to call someone over there to inform them of our coming but we were told that they have a strict acceptance policy which prohibits people from bringing animals to the centre. This I found very absurd and annoying; considering the fact that we were donating the turtle for free, not like we were requesting for any money from them. The fear that the new animal to be introduced might carry germs or diseases and infect other animals could be properly dealt with, simply by quarantining the new animal for a period of time and taking other preventive measures.
We ended up taking the turtle to Lufasi Park in Lekki were she was gladly accepted.

Main Point
We continue killing, maiming and hurting almost all the animals we find in our environment. Anytime I come online to nairaland, there is always a topic that looks like the “see the animal that a nairalander killed in his room, house, compound, school etc”. It would either be a snake, alligator, squirrel, deer etc. You never see a topic like “see the animal a nairalander captured and is returning to the zoo”. The mere fact you could kill it means you could also capture it and take it to the zoo, park or reserve. It is just inhumane, unfair and wicked to keep killing all the animals we find in our environment. There would be a time when all these animals would be gone in Nigeria; what then do you want the generations yet unborn to see.

Good job and kudos to you @Op, I think the Lekki conservation center response to such a wise and patriotic behavior is bad and should be address too. What do they stand for if such offer was bluntly rejected by them even when there are 1001 things they could have done to save the turtle.

What I think you should be ashamed of is your misinterpretation of the word from the MOG (I don't mean to be rude). Can you point out where he said the offering gives salvation? Now let us see this together, "From today if you’re not sure of your salvation don’t “ever” give when it’s time for offerings in RCCG. When you give offerings you’re sending money to heaven.”[i][/i] The sentence here clearly explained means if you are not saved and not a heaven bound christian, do not bother to give offering to God. Why get money or your offering fraudulently or through sinful means and you are bringing it to present to the Almighty? It is synonymous to Cain's offering in Genesis 4:4-5 and one of the reasons Cain's offering was rejected was because of his impure heart.

Personally, i still believe this has been preached over and over in sermons that the acceptable offering before God is the one like that of Abel. “Verse 4 - God had regard for Abel and his offering.” So, give offerings from a contrite heart and pure source. God bless

Hello nairalanders, I just wish I'll get a shoulder or two to cry on tonight. Things are becoming unbearable for me and I don't know how far I can walk on these shoes. Here's my story...


I am 28 and married to a 35yr old youngman whom I love so dearly. We are blessed with 2 kids and most material things one can pray for. My marriage is 5yrs with just minor issues that do come up once in a VERY LONG while.

The problem is that my hubby does not show me affection and hardly approaches me for sex. I am a very neat, beautiful, Godfearing, educated and classy lady. Most times I am the one who initiates intimacy in our marriage. My heart breaks each time I read or hear of women who deny their husbands sex because its an opposite in my case. For more than two months now we've not been intimate. To make matters worse, he prefers to sleep in the sitting room or children's room than in our matrimonial room.

He always pretends to be tired but not too tired to be chatting on whatsapp with friends. I have his password, that is not an issue. I am not suspecting anything even though I'm not totally ruling out the possibility of adultery. He comes back very late in the night unlike before. Infact even when he comes early these days, he will rather stay with friends within the street or house than come inside. Believe me nairalanders, we don't have issues. Infact he keeps saying that God blessed him with a wonderful woman. It's not like I make the house uncomfortable for him. The only communication we have these days is greetings, asking how the day went or few general topics.

I am not a woman who can't do without sex but I just need to be shown affection even if sex is not there. Committing adultery on my own part is IMPOSSIBLE, i will rather opt for divorce. I am so confused, lonely and heartbroken. I love my husband beyond the word LOVE. I just wish he can see the tears in my eyes as I lay lonely on our bed each night. I am very fragile by nature and gets hurt easily. Believe me...this is killing me.

Please, people drop a word or two for a hurting soul.

As earlier advised, please try and talk it out with your hubby after you have prayed about it and let him know you are hurt by his recent actions. If truly he is still into you he will surely apologise and return to being the loving husband he used to be.
