THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Paying attention to details is a pathway to greatness.

I was in a flight one day with some pilots and one of them took me to the cockpit of the aircraft. He kept me at the cockpit and I was wondering why he kept me there.
After a while, the pilot began to tell me some things about the aircraft. He said to me, “You see this one, it is for this. The function of that one is this.”
Now, one of the things that moved me when he was talking to me was that he brought out a list of about thirty things.
So, I asked, “What is this?”
He said, “It is a check list.”
Then he continued, “Before you take the aircraft off the ground, you must tick all the items on the checklist and ensure that they are all in perfect shape”.
This means you ensure that the hydraulics of the aircraft is in good shape, and you tick it. Then you check the aircraft’s landing gear and ensure it is in a perfect condition, and then you tick it in the checklist. All the thirty items on the checklist must be checked and ticked appropriately. You must confirm that none of the things on the checklist has a challenge. When this is done, then you can take the aircraft from the ground into the air.
These items must be properly checked because there is no mechanic in the air to repair the aircraft when it develops a fault while flying.

Beloved, as it is with the aircraft, so it is with all other endeavours of life. So, you must pay attention to details in whatever you do in life. Paying attention to details is a pathway to greatness.

Sometime ago, I heard the story of a female lecturer, who had Master’s Degree in English Language from one of the universities in Nigeria.

This lecturer had a student that passed through her tutelage. She lectured this student. After graduation, the student decided to be engaged by the same university and secured an employment as a Graduate Assistant.

From being a Graduate Assistant, he was promoted to the rank of Assistant Lecturer, and then to Lecturer Two, Lecturer One, Senior Lecturer, and then he eventually became a Professor in the same English Department, where his former teacher still held a Master’s Degree.

After a while, he became the Head of that Department, much higher in rank than the female Lecturer who taught him.

You see, some people are angry that a junior person overtook them.

The question to ask is, what is the junior person doing to earn such a promotion? That a vehicle is parked by the roadside does not mean others should park.

It is good to find out what people did that took them up in life.

So, change or promotion is not a function of age and longevity; it is a matter of choice and self-development. You are not promoted by virtue of just longevity, but by productivity resulting from self-development and competence.

Beloved, what is your profession in life? Are you a medical doctor, lawyer, estate agent, lecturer or a businessman or woman? Make up your mind to develop yourself and do your job to the highest level.

In your area of calling, make up your mind to invest in books and materials that will make you better.

SCRIPTURE: But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.
REVELATION 21:8.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: To tell lies is to go to hell.

Many years ago, someone invited me to join two persons in marriage. However, the lady was already three months pregnant and I did not know. The pregnancy was neatly hidden inside her wedding gown. You know, there are people whose three months’ pregnancy would look as if they are not pregnant at all.
Ignorantly, I went to join the couple and after six months, they gave birth to a baby. When I heard that they had given birth, I asked them, “Was it a premature birth?”
They said, “No. We are sorry sir.”
I said, “What! You invited me to officiate your wedding even though you knew that you were already three months pregnant? I even asked you at the wedding venue, “Do you have any reason why you may not be joined together? And you said No.” It was a terrible experience!

It is very important to know that lying takes people to hell. All liars shall have their part in the lake that burns with fire and brimstone. To tell lies is to go to hell. That will not be your portion, in Jesus’ Name.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: In doing what you find, you will locate what you want.

It has been confirmed that one of the reasons why we have many idle people today is over-selectivity. Today, graduates and job applicants are too selective of what to do. That is why many people are not doing anything with their lives.
But if you decide to do anything you find, very soon, you will locate what you want to do.

One day, a young man went to an office where they were looking for someone to employ as a dispatch rider. They were looking for a Senior Secondary School Certificate Holder as a dispatch rider but this young man had a Higher National Diploma (HND), and was already through with his National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Programme.
He told them he was interested in the job. But they told him, “You are over-qualified. We are looking for an SSCE Holder”. Defiantly, he told them that he was interested.
You know, when they saw his tenacity, they employed him and made him a supervisor. They still went ahead to look for another person to employ as a dispatch rider. They saw the audacity in him and couldn’t let him go. They needed a quality human resource material like him.

There is a lesson to learn from this story. The young man decided to do whatever his hands found, and that decision gave him a better job. It would have amounted to a show of pride for him to say, “I am a HND holder. I cannot stoop so low to do the work of a dispatch rider”. If he had said that, he would have remained unemployed.

Beloved, of what use is your big certificate if it cannot secure a job for you because of pride? I counsel you to start from somewhere. Even if you seem to be overqualified for the job, start from somewhere. In doing what you find, you will locate what you want.

Remember this: In doing what you find, you will locate what you want.

ASSIGNMENTS:
1. Make up your mind to conquer pride and over-selectivity.
2. Do what your hands find to do and deploy maximum quality, excellence and professionalism in doing it.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: The Power of God is transmittable.

Many years ago, a woman was in a programme where I ministered and she had neck tumor. I prayed on a handkerchief and gave it to her.
This woman had gone to University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital (UNTH), Enugu and several other places for healing, but all to no avail. She then decided to tie this imparted handkerchief on her neck permanently.
The more the handkerchief remained on her neck, the more the growth dried up. In fact, one day, she sent to ask me a question, “Can I wash it? Will the Power be washed away?”
I replied her, “No. It is not physical power. It is spiritual. So, water can’t affect it.” Not too long after that, the growth disappeared and her neck became normal like that of a young lady. She was already in her sixties at the time.
You see, that is how it works.

The Power of God is transmittable. It is a tangible spiritual materiality that can be transmitted through material points of contact as though it is a storage battery. And that is how the anointing oil is. It transmits the Power of God.
Even those who watch us preach via the television and satellite channels can contact the anointing. I have heard of people who placed their hands on television screens and got healed.

Sometime ago, in Adamawa State, a young boy who had cancer was taken to the hospital for surgery. In fact, the medical experts attending to him did not know what to do about his case anymore. Then his mother placed the boy’s hand on a television screen while we were ministering, and the boy got healed. He was healed of the cancer. God did the surgery all by Himself.
That was a practical example of connecting to the Power of God via material points of contact.

Remember this: The Power of God is transmittable.

Mentality affects possibility.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Mentality affects possibility.

Our anchor Scripture makes it clear that mentality determines reality. As a man thinks in his heart, so is he. That is to say the realities of a man’s life are a reflection of the thought of his mind.

I will like you to take note of these key thoughts on mentality or mind-set:

1. Mentality sets the limit on destiny

Proverbs 23:7 says, For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he: Eat and drink, saith he to thee; but his heart is not with thee.

If your mind says, “This is where you will remain”, and you agree, that is where you will remain. Your mentality sets the limit on your destiny.

2. Mentality determines possibility (Proverbs 23:7)

Luke 1:45 says, And blessed is she that believed: for there shall be a performance of those things which were told her from the Lord.

Mentality affects possibility. The possibilities you experience in life are determined by your mentality.

3. Mentality is the determinant of reality

Things are real twice, first to the mind, and then to the physical eye. For example, the structure of the Glory Dome, Dunamis Int’l Gospel Centre, at the Airport Road, Abuja, was first real in the mind, and then it became real on the earth. The architect has the picture in his mind, before he puts it on paper.

All truths are parallel. As it is in the physical, so it is in the spiritual. What you think in your mind becomes real in in your life.

My counsel is, change your mind-set positively. Become different so you can overcome what is limiting people around you.
