abimijul1:Is there anything like 3rd batch in OAU? All I know OAU for are Merit, Supplementary and VC list.... For those of you clamouring 3rd list, there is nothing like that here. |
WHO SHOULD I TELL? In burning sun, I oozed out salt water Like a loaded donkey. I chased the jalopy car dashing on dusty road, To the east To the west To the north To the south At the cardinal point I spotted my shadow And I was like a mad mind chasing nothing. I lost in thought, And suffered pain of thinking right, Funny me, everything center on "Sabo Lagere". I stood at the center of the road, Peeping right and left, I told the intrinsic nature this story, My mind is lazy: he punched out, Aloud it rang, The chauffer must play it honest, No there was a battle in there, He replied, he is a tout So, honest is far from hell. This time I looked the sun in the eye, My mind ravel Though I managed to narrate my story But all is zilch and vain. On the chilling day, I greased my mind Rushed in Sabo Lagere to peg at Sabo Lagere, Peeping right and left like an hungry dog, I told my lazy mind, The chauffer must be honest, He caused it, I caused it. There was a friction in there, And I stopped. I have chased my shadow, Yet Sabo Lagere is no where to be found, My account has bleeped And, who am I to tell this suck? Tell mother, tell father No, I will be tagged a wise fool. Tell my follower, No, they will tagged me Solomon. Tell Brother Jero No, he will play the clown. Tell the professional woman No, she will discuss me often. Tell myself No, I will considered myself Rehoboam. Then, who should tell? (c) Iyiola Oluwatosin. D |
By Ben Efe Confederation of African Football president, Issa Hayatou was of the view that Nigerian football legend, Austin ‘Jay Jay’ Okocha deserved to have won the highest African football honour for all his masterful displays during his playing days. In 2003 and 2004 respectively when Okocha was at his best, the African player of the year award eluded him, much to the surprise of most Nigerian soccer enthusiasts conversant with African football. Instead, Samuel Eto’o was crowned back to back for those years, with Didier Drogba as runner’s up, while Okocha was third. Coincidentally, the former Super Eagles midfield maestro was voted back to back as the BBC African player of the year for the same period. This led to conspiracy theories that there was a Francophone gang-up against Okocha, who is from Nigeria, an Anglophone country. “If I have any regret that will be not winning The African Footballer of the Year. But then, I don’t think I was meant to because I gave my best, but at the end, it wasn’t good enough,” said Okocha in a recent interview. At the 2014 CAF awards, Hayatou seemed to have felt his pain as he described the awards established in 1992 as a magnificent achievement and deserving to be won by players who have distinguished themselves on the field of play. “Players like Jay Jay Okocha would have been very worthy to feature in the list of winners. But the technicians decided otherwise, it is the law of the game,” Hayatou said in his opening remarks. Okocha who was named by Pele in his list of 125 legends, started his career with the Super Eagles in 1993 in a game against Cote’d Ivoire during an African World Cup qualifier. He cemented his place in the Super Eagles in subsequent years and was influential in the squad. His was part of the team that won the African Cup of Nations for the second time in 1994 and also gold medal at the Atlanta 96’ Olympic Games. However, he was unable to inspire the team to qualify for the 2006 World Cup in Germany, it was from that moment his weight began to wane. There hasn’t been another player like Okocha in the continent. And perhaps this way why Yaya Toure has been crowned four years in a row and he seem bored receiving the awards at the Eko Hotels Convention centre last Thursday night as he did not show any emotion in the ceremony filled with quality entertainment. Nigeria Football Federation president, Mr. Amaju Pinnick congratulated Toure with no hard feelings, but was quick to add that Nigerian players need to raise their game and also take their places in the CAF hall of fame. “No one can fault the awards given to Toure. He deserves it; my only concern is that Toure is playing for the wrong premiership team. “But seriously, this is a wake up call for our players. It was only Vincent Enyeama that we have seen this season and for him to make the final list was a plus for him being a goalkeeper,” Amaju said. It was a thrilling evening, the music was good. Food and wine were in abundant supply and the gathered football family had their fill after three long hours of waiting for the show to begin. The event was meant to celebrate football and the stars past and present who made the difference. Kalusha Bwalya was the only former African international who was invited to make presentations - See more at: http://www.vanguardngr.com/2015/01/hayatous-regret-okocha-deserved-caf-awards/#sthash.nN9Spz5B.dpuf |
ANGER Anger is hydra- instrument of destruction. It rises like smoke when the mind is being hurt and punished innocently. Anger kills, destroys and damages. Anger cannot be made by one person without the influence of another person. Anger is generally define as strong feeling that we have when something has happened that you think is bad and unfair or strong feeling that make someone want to hurt another person or shout at them. Although, anger sometimes resolves difficult situation and makes things work as planned, in absence of self control, anger strongly destroys. Anger can destroy the good things around us when it comes. Hence, the first child of anger is destruction. Similarly, anger is like a spirit that is not capable of doing well or making peace whenever man applies it wrongly, because it flames fast like fire. The scripture admonishes making friend with an angry man “don’t be friend with person who becomes angry easily; don’t go near a person who becomes mad fast. If you do, you may learn to be like him. Then you will have the same trouble he has” (proverbs 19:24). The scripture regards a person who gets angry easily as a mad person who is likely to have trouble. I have said earlier that anger kills and destroys. Narrating the experience of a young man called Adam as a case of study might be a perfect example. Adam woke up on an unaccomplished Monday morning and decided to take a stroll on the street to console his unemployment life, as Adam was threading the road; a rich man drove towards him and accidentally splashed on him dirty water. Adam got furious instantly and intended to retaliate with aggressive words and violation, his eye flashed out anger and his mind uproar conflict. Out of pity the rich man rushed down the car and pleaded to Adam, Adam turned down the apology offered. After several pleading Adam remained sarcastic using the gigantic offensive words, he added more salt to the injury by hitting the rich man a hard slap. In a twinkle of an eye, the stage of action has become a rowdy place calling people attention. To keep things in order, the rich man called the police but before the arrival of the police, Adam had gone wild by locating a big rod to smash the rich man head which eventually claimed his life. Adam was found guilty, charged for murder and sentenced for life imprisonment. Adam himself would have never imagined such an ill fate but a little patience would have saved him from such expensive life destruction. Self control is highly needed whenever or wherever man shows off his anger. No man can predict the end result of a fight except he plays it cool. Though, anger sometimes poses positive result. In some cases anger helps, relating to the reaction of Jesus Christ in the temple. Jesus was a kind, humble and gentle man, but it was recorded in the bible that he was angry by the activities of the people who were transacting business in the temple. He drove out all who sold and bought in the temple, overturned the table of money changer and the seat of those who sell pigeon. He said “it is written my house shall be called the house of prayers but you make it a den of robbers”. Sometimes a gentle man might be taken for fool or cheated. A little gin in water might radiate balance in the system. According to Professor Niyi Osundare response in the pendulum magazine interview, anger is necessary – constructive, regenerative anger, the type of anger that makes it possible for you to become complacent in the face of evil. The kind of anger that actually gets you reacting almost impulsively when you see something wrong around you. So, it’s a kind of anger which translates into compassion, sympathy and in the last analysis, which shares the same borders with empathy i.e. fellow feeling. How then can we placate anger? This is a question that relates to an individual capacity to poise oneself or spanner the bolt of anger. The power to resist or uphold the manifestation of anger lies in the meekness and humility of a disciplined mind. The sensible act of remaining silent or leaving that boiling place to another place to propitiate your anger is always a good advice to go by. Also, making friend with a ratty fellow might make you become one. And, the reiterating of offensive words may push you to the wall. Likewise, irrelevant argument can pose a bridge between anger and conflict. To crown it all, a bit of anger to man’s gentility will make him a balance and complete man. But, getting angry easily is like setting a house on fire without thinking. By: Iyiola Oluwatosin .D |

Timmytimmy: Please, what's the difference between religious studies and theology....If there's a difference, does OAU have a theology department?Religious studies is clearly different from Theology. Theology is restricted to christian religious studies while Religious studies is basically the study of all religions i.e the study of Judaism, Janism, Buddhism, Tradition, Christianity, Islamic etc. Religious student must be ethno-centric and neutral i.e they have no religion because they study all religions. Looking at it from that angle of explanation, Religious study stand a better chance than Theology. U can be a theologist even in church. Some churches do that. However, there is nothing like Theology in OAU except CRS which is synonymous to it.... |

Nice one, it is nice to be here again to learn from the adept writers and the Judges that will make the second edition animate. NISD is one of the most educating online competition in Nigeria. I need to commend the ideology adopted to carve the innate skills of young growing writers and turning the minds of apathy students against writing. All is worth encouraging. Being part of the audience that was acquainted with each round of the first edition , I will use this time to bring light on the achilles heel as you have noted in your post too. It obvious that one of the faulty side of the competition is the duration at which it takes to end. The long time involved made it boring and cause some audience to pool out if not contestant. My advice goes further and remains a suggestion. I think there shouldn't be a qualifying stage, any school that register has earned an automatic qualification and should be schedule for a knockout stage which will serve as an en route to semi final and lastly final. This will make the whole thing less cumbersome and as well make those who will be engaged in their school activities less tensed because this is not the harvest of ASUU. Thank U |

But, I ve posted the answer on page 4 and I will repost for u. From the look of things on this platform. It is obvious that 99.9% of people don't know the answer. The remaining 0.1% culled their answer from google with the mechanism of copy and paste. Just like you, I don't know the answer but my uncle told me. So many people are out there with better degrees like you but some employers goes further by testing how fast you can think or handle things. Hence, it is left to you to convince your employer. Uncle: Sir, am not sure but I think it is Green because the traffic rule says Red means Stop and Green means Go. So, Green is the answer. Employer: Smile Uncle:....... Employer: Let negotiate ur salary. It was after he was employed he got know that so many applicant failed the test. N:B- Some employer are strict while some are frank with question. My uncle that works in a construction company shared his interview experience with me some hours ago and I wish to share it with you guys here too. Uncle Joe sit me down and tells me why so many graduates flop in an interview questions these days. He tells me how so many graduate prepare hard for an interview but get soak with shame and embarrassment after the interview. He further picture how the best student with the best result still strive hard to have a pass mark in a cheap interview question. Interview is not about showing your skill in calculus but expressing how fast and the level of your intelligent quotient. Now, let me share you one of the top most question asked by an employer in a construction company. Question: The opposite of white is black, what is the opposite of RED? Note: This is an interview question. Uncle Joe was the only luckiest applicant that got it right and got the Job........ |
Oga Papindinho and the host of others I hail thee. Finally I broke the jinx of having no access to social media. It is quite an age and I have badly miss my buddies on Nairaland, Facebook , Whatapps etc. I need to congratulate those who succeeded OAU cheap questions and as well sympathize with those that couldn't. From the look of things I see that exam as a trap to raise the hope of some dudes and then dash it. But I pray you will succeed the next hurdle in Jesus name. You need to thank God for counting you among those that score beyond 200 because in spite of the simplicity of the exam some dudes still find it touch to pass. But don't relent much on your score because so many people score very high this year. And no skeptical about it that cutoff mark will be very high this year. In addition, you can connect me on whatsapp 09032398413, bbm; 22883DC3........ Oga papin well done oooooo, na so life be na. Tola mo binu si e badly.... And to others shey bo se je ko wa ni yen. |

I CAN’T WALK ALONE Honey of my life, Without you my life is bitter, I never have a sound sleep since seeing you, Your reply to my proposal weaken my active bone, Without you I can’t walk alone My thinking is occupy by you alone, All I can write after my reading is “I love you”, Your lovelorn make we wander, Without you I can’t walk alone. You I see in my dream, When I wake up without seeing you, am helpless, Love made me fool, Without you I can’t walk alone. Your blonde made me bite the bit of my fingers, Belle of my choice, Without you I can’t walk alone, Your beauty is a price from God, It lures me into lust ending in love, My love for you is never a deceit. My heart is free for you, My lobes is calling for yours, Come and occupy it, Without you I can’t walk alone. Age flies like time, Season harsh on me, Must I grow grey before you accept my proposal? The magistrate is awaiting us, But without you I can’t walk alone. My ribs are incomplete without you, Occupy my heart, Hand my hand, Support my leg, And we shall walk together. |
What is the latest gist and information on ground? I saw on other platform that OAU is likely to merge us with 2014 set. How feasible is that? I know it is a mere joke of the year. |
I succeeded in logging in today. I don't know the bull shit with nairaland these days. I can only view post but I can't reply. Haven't read through u guys election posts and other things, I say a work well done. |
I have read through u guys post and I must commend the good work in action but I won't forget to advise u guys. I can perceive the haste u ve to be admitted to oau. Well, oau is an institution every hardworking student will like to be and I know how you feel to be a student in the great citadel. From experience, u guys should not rush urself in the race of OAU. OAU is not a school u can rush in, learn to be patience and focused on the first thing not the last. I don't expect u guys to be discussing post utme now, when u still ve jamb ahead of u, remember some brilliant students flop in the previous jamb and was not opportuned to write the post utme. Don't be too confident in passing ur jamb, draft ur plan by having a target score and read all d past questions and ur prescribe text.... U must aim to score high because high number of students will surely turn out for oau this year, if u are the type going for competitive course like law, medicine, accounting, economics, english language etc. Pls think twice and ask urself if u have all it takes to put up the string to the last minute. If u can blast ur jamb urself, ur post utme should be a walk over. Anyone who can write jamb independently and score high, should be able to score higher in oau post utme. Pls, don't believe in "expo" cos it wont help situation and don't forget to put God first, some had high score but was not lucky to be there..... One more thing before I go, pls don't pay anybody to process ur admission to Oau, and pls don't fall victim like me.... Great Ife!!! Great! Great!! Great!!!.... I leave in Language Art and breath in Education. I am fresh student in Education and Language Arts... U can always beep me for enquiry on:- 08188573376......... |
My Oga @olastep, no need to weep cos us will soon meet u in oau...... Always feed us with latest info from campus sha..... Hi room, wat the latest na, i thought we should ve been seeing people posting different course units by now..... Pls, me need materials to start reading, help ur boy oooo...... |
In the last minute of the old year, Grateful souls are giving thanks ahead of the new year, Goliath had fallen before the last minute, Solomon had gone before the last minute, Israel is not at peace, And they have prayed ahead the new race. This is neither the song of David nor solomon, But a new compose for the new year of superfluous, Many years had came, And more yet to come, No year is too important, Only that a year mark significant than the other. 2014 a glorious year, That our Israel will be at peace, Our cry will be dried, We shall gain freedom And together say another Happy new year. |
