Politics › Re: Who Is The Best African Leader? by toshmann(m): 11:09am On Jun 17, 2006
it is obvious u are biased towards sankara. well, the best african leader depends on the meaning of "best african leader" what are the criteria for that qualification?
Politics › Re: Bbc Africa's "what Do You Think Of Nigeria" A Sensible Forum? by toshmann(m): 11:02am On Jun 17, 2006
i think the points outlined by afeni are hurtful but true. now that may not be an excuse to be very negative about the country but tell me, is it easy to be positive about nigeria? tell me something about nigeria that we can see and be united and positive as a nation? even our beloved super eagles that used to do that is no longer performing. when u look at nigeria from outside u only feel embarrassed and angry. it is so bad that if u tell some nigerians that they have a nigerian accent here in the UK they get annoyed.

what,in that country is the good news that we can hold on to and be a little bit positive? what? health? education? infrastructure? economy? democracy? free and fair elections? water supply? power supply? jobs? transportation (aka good roads or safe local flights)? security? nigerians even feel like foreigners when they are in other parts of the country that is not their own origin. administration? we can't even count ourselves. where is the positive news.

so u see, let it not be as if some people are unnecessarily negative about the country. u may say what did i do to change the country. b4 u can do anything u need to be given the opportunity. who in that country will give any young person the opportunity to change things? a country where oldies like OBJ still want to continue ruling. the same names we read in history books in secondary school are still the ones ruling this country. HABA. angry

kitaun,
this is a great year for african football. nigeria,cameroun and senegal did not qualify means that next time every team in africa will take the matches seriously no matter the opposition. players will face every match with optimal seriousness and take no team for granted even if nigeria were to play against chad, our best players will come to play the match because togo and angola have given africa a message- no team has a monopoly of victory. so from ow on expect the best from african football begining from day 1.

so brother don't think that i'm unhappy that we did not qualify. I am indeed happy. obi mikel is not playing when his mates such as messi are displaying skills for the world to watch b/c we did not qualify, so next time we have a qualifying match with e.g ethiopia, mikel will want to come and play.and all the other stars too. so i'm happy, nigeria will hopefully be more serious in the future

france was a big disgrace. no excuse for them. the bad news was not that they could not win switzerland but that they did not even play well. the team i saw cannot beat julius berger fc of lagos,i tell you.
Sports › Re: Brazil Vs Croatia:the World Cup Starts Today,let Us Watch by toshmann(op): 5:32pm On Jun 14, 2006
u r right codec. brazil did not impress me at all. but ronaldinho did, kaka did, cafu did, a good proportion of the team did. but the team itself was below my expectation. on 2nd thots, i think it is good for football b/c it means no teram is a push over in this game. even togo i was afraid for, came around to be the only african team so far to ever take a lead. see? so it's good that croatia fought and proved worthy of their calling as a world cup team

@drussila,
i didn't get ur direction. u talk of the most powerful African being a decendant of the slaves. i ask u, how has that bettered africans, and who is this most powerful african serving? she is serving a descendant of the masters.aint it?if she wants to serve her peeps, how successful will she be. she just plays out the instruction of the masters. aint it?
@ ndipe,
i mhave to remind u that i said the greatest weapon in the hand of the "masters" are the african leaders. these brain dead people are used to destroy the continent further. wanna know how? their nefarious appetite plunged the continent into debt. the borrowed money which the west knew was not being used to develop africa and the money ends up in european banks. europe gains while african dies. frustration sets in violence brews and with it the arms trade. where do the arms come from. it is complex my dear, the african leaders are culpable,yes. but they are brain dead. however the west knows the consequences of this situation and yet they encourage these african fools(leaders). that is pure wickedness.
