Once Buhari was elected, I knew igbos are in deep shit. Whatever they are protesting, it is their right to protest without arms. But bc they are igbos, hausas will kill them, yorubas would not mind, and it will not be in the news either.

These folks, ipob folks, have a right under the constitution to protest peacefully as they deem fit.

There were no zombies or wailers, Mynd44's contemporary didn't have the headache of blocking or reportedly banning folks. I sparingly visited other sections sha though was a non-commenting FamilyLander. (Wetin I know wey I wan advice , unlike kiddos who would be trying to advice MEN and in the process turn it into a banter fest .

Today, NL is more dynamic and has changed with the times which is a good thing actually . Looking back , its apparent that another generation has taken over. As a forefather, I have been respecting myself and limiting my activities to the Health section cos I know you can't come and beat me there, lol.
But where are my contemporaries sef ? Have they morphed into fresher skins (monikers) or they have taken the humble option to deactivate or altogether watch from the grandstands?

Last last, weldone to Seun , Lalasticlala and the MoDs who have put NL ahead in blogosphere.

We had real debates then. We even went to foreign affairs and had cerebral debates.
Now we have wailers and hailers, name calling is everything. But its not nairaland alone. It's a global trend. Millennials have no desire for deep thinking or patience. Their agemates in america are doing the same. Though a bot more civilized with the name calling. Here it's liberals vs neocons, real americans vs immigrant/aliens, us vs them etc but the bottom line is the same, people don't think. That's why an undocumented immigrant went and voted for trump, only to realize his error when immigration officials showed up at his door.

Anyways, life goes on. Who am I?

It's not just women, people generally respect men with beards more than those without. Now they may LOVE those without beards but they RESPECT those with beards more. It's psychological and this has been studied by some people.

Just like people have more respect for grey hair than black hair.
Imagine if you are very very very sick, then walks in a doctor who looks "boyish" versus a doctor who has well trimmed beards. Who will you prefer? D'you know why lawyers and judges wear white wigs? Those wigs depict the white hairs of old men.

Same way students reapect professors with beards or grey hair than those without.----other things being equal

This young man should take it easy biko. Ebfore you travel to a foreign country, you should make plans about what to do and it helps to have an honest person on ground to help u stand on your feet.
The first 2 years are hard. These days it takes up to 5 yrs to even begin to stand. Sometimes u may have to go back to school to get their own diplomas. Also most don't have credible visas so they can't get real jobs. It's never easy. It demands patience, perseverance and hardwork. Every penny is earned. And even at that, things may still go sour. Take it easy.

Don't come online to whine and claim everybody is a beggar just bc u are a beggar. grin
