Seems you forgot he used the same chakra rod to stab himself in sage mode and he bled when he wanted to locate Nagato's position...he hit the midpoint of the rod not the sharp edge, that's why it shattered..

After a deep and thorough research, Kimco is right!

He had the rasengan first, tried to inject his chakra nature but because of the kinda shape manipulation involved in creating rasengan it proved impossible, so he created chidori whose shape manipulation could accomodate lightning, its why he used the word "develop" which he also used when talking about Minato's rasengan...

In the anime which I went back to watch, the word "create" was used instead of "develop"...


And as for the copy part, Sage Naruto explanation concerning that is enough for me..

So on this note, can we move on?

3. contexual meaning comes into play here. besyds he did "develop" the chidori from rasengan( atleast the basics). when he cud not inject his nature chakra into rasengan he decided to make a lower level shape manipulation jutsu solely for the purpose of injecting his chakra into it. call it customisation.

4. please never use a dictionary or google dic for things said in context... it's wrong cos other literary devices come into play.

Raikiri has higher level of chakra manipulation that chidori


When Naruto said it will be easy for him to inject his nature element to rasengan was when Kakashi said if that was the case, he wouldn't have needed to develop his chidori to Raikiri.

Chidori already has both chakra and shape manipulation, that's why it has lightning, but still it wasn't as strong as rasengan which only involves shape manipulation, so after copying the rasengan, he tried to add his chakra element to it but it didn't work, that's why he decided to develop his chidori, giving him raikiri

He didn't develop chidori from rasengan, he developed raikiri from chidori...

If you aint using google and dictionary to check meanings of words, I'll advice you order for the dictionaries Kishi is using to coined the english he uses in the manga..

Now to Kakashi, the Kakashi we know is cunny but humble, if he had help from Minato to "copy" rasengan as you stated, he would have said that to Naruto and not say "copy".

And moreover, Sharingan is synonymous to COPY, its only sharingan that copies jutsus, if you wanna acquire a jutsu you learn..and I'm very sure that Kakashi knows the differences between "copy" and "learn" and he aint dumb to replace one with the other

He developed chidori to Raikiri which is more precise and deadlier than chidori, google the word "develop" to see it they are truly same as "create"

Minato sealed a raw chakra in himself and he numb cos he was practically out of chakra and he didn't use the recommended sealing techniques, the chakra we are discussing is a refined chakra and you say them being shinobis doesn't mean a thing? c'mon man...WTF..you've been used to something all your life and then an increase in it will suddenly kill you? develop chidori not learn chidori, meaning when he copied rasengan but couldn't add his lightning element, he had to improve on his chidori to make it stronger than the rasengan cos chidori and rasengan are on par even chidori already has elemental manipulation and rasengan doesnt.

You're forgetting the fact that these dudes are shinobis and not mere humans, so the idea of 'unfamiliar power' doesnt hold weight cos they are still dealing with chakra which they've been living with all their lives, they didn't gain overwhelming power, they just had a meagre part of it, they don't have full access to the real power. And the idea of side effect if there'd be any will suffice after the power wears out.

2, Why are you reaching this far kimco? An A-rank jutsu that took a while for Jiraiya to learn even though Minato was teaching him and was overjoyed when he finally learns it is what you say kakashi just replicates? I never knew you hated Kishi to the extent of twisting his words...
if it was a jutsu you just see and replicate with ordinary eyes, you have any idea how many people would be using it?

Chidori also has elemental manipulation...you can't use chidori if you are not a lightning element user.

WackyJ1: 1. Chakra is not released into the palm before it is turned to lightning chakra.. The jutsu already shows as lightning chakra based jutsu take note from the raikage's jutsu
2. Chidori is not manipulated into a knife edge. It is just lightening chakra surrounding the users palm. The one that is turned into a sword edge is the one that sasuke used with deidera...
Besides there are many other techniques that follow Said pattern and they are not said to be like the rasengan.

Tosxn's point which He duly backed up was that kakashi said he COPIED not learnt the Rasengan and for him to have copied it. He had to have had the sharingan and we all know that he invented the chidori before he had the sharingan
