CultureRe: Alaafin Of Oyo Or Sijuade Of Ife by tpia5: 11:16pm On Jun 22, 2013
basically,

- oduduwa was originally the olufe of ife, before the ooni title

- obalufon was the son of obatala. Obatala was exiled during the civil war which preceded oduduwa's reign.

- obalufon was the third olufe

- one of obatala's other sons established the olufon title.

- Fon means spread

quick questions:

1. Your account places the olufon as a descendant of obatala, not oduduwa. However, other versions state the olufon as a direct descendant of oduduwa [one of the original seven yoruba kingships]. How can these versions be reconciled, just curious.

2. what's the history of ifon osun.
CultureRe: Alaafin Of Oyo Or Sijuade Of Ife by tpia5: 11:00pm On Jun 22, 2013
this one?

saxywale: True....IFA tells us that oduduwa met obatala in ife.

Oduduwa, the famous father of the Yoruba Nation overthrew Obatala in Ile-Ife and Obatala went into exile in Ilofi, a place still in existence for tourists in Ile-Ife now. Oduduwa reigned as the Olufe (the Head of Ife[Yorubas]) Oduduwa had only Okanbi who also had seven children among which are Olowu of Owu, Orangun of Ila, etc and the famous Oranmiyan the Ruler of Benin Kingdom and founder of Oyo Empire. Upon the demise of Oduduwa, Obatala came back to Ile-Ife and reigned as the second Olufe because all Oduduwa's grandchildren had gone to establish their own kingdoms. Upon his(Obatala)death, some of his children contested the throne after him, they are OLAOSA ALADIKUN a.k.a Akogun Erujeje,Obalufon Alayemore among others. Of all these contestants,Obalufon Alayemore succeeded their father and others had to go establish their own
kingdom.

Olaosa Aladikun consulted Ifa for prophesy of his exodus, he was directed to establish a kingdom wherever he saw plenty weaver birds on a tree with mushroom underneath. Couched in Yoruba Language, 'ibi ti olu ati eye eega fon si' 'where mushroom and weaver birds spread' thus we have the short name 'Olu fon', 'mushroom spread' which is now the Title of the King of Ifon i.e. the Olufon of Ifon. Ifon can be simply interpreted as 'The Spread'.

tothemax86: I also do not think it is a coincidence that the staff of oranmiyan is also present in egypt and ethiopia in the form of obelisks. Read up on dierk lange "Yorubas and the 12 tribes of israel", this german writer proposes that during the fall of judah and northern israel, yorubas migrated first to egypt, then to sudan and finally southwest nigeria.
yorubas of where, are you referring to?

you have to be specific, since yoruba is a recent term.

ireke onibudo- sweet sugarcane. Not sure what onibudo means.

irinkerindo ninu igbo elegbeje- wanderings in the forest of a myriad spirits. Not sure what elegbeje means, could be a thousand.

ogboju ode- the fearless hunter or strong hunter

igbo olodumare- forest of God

Aditu olodumare- something God, aditu might mean power, not sure.

^all these your backhanded insults na wa.

anyway, looking at yoruba origins should entail examining the history of the different regions.

ijebu, for instance has benin origin or something like that.

ekiti, i believe, is also benin.

alutacontinua: ^ ^ ^ ^ In other words, you're trying to justify SCAMMING.
Dude, are you seriously talking like this? If somebody needs help, say it politely, if the other part is okay with it...FINE! But trying to prey on innocent souls using the 4-letter word L-O-V-E is bad! There's no point trying to colour it nicely. So, you're trying to tell me that people who scam or steal are not bad because they need the money and ain't nothing bad in helping the needy? Are you even listening to yourself at allhuh The fact that they're using love to cover it up even makes it worse, NOT BETTER!

Which greener pasture, if someone is looking for greener pasture, must you deceive another person in getting there?
If you've been of this habit before, you don't have to justify it. Accept that what you did was wrong and quit these whole talk, abeg!
is the woman herself not looking for greener pasture, or am I the only one who saw this:

dawn21: I started talking to this guy from Nigeria in April 2013,he has told me he loves me n wants to come to England n marry me,he said that he is willing to give up his job n family for me.
madam, if he's giving up his family for you, then you should be able to sponsor him completely, abi no be you buy him?

RomanceRe: Do You Still Love Your Fat Wife? by tpia5: 3:24pm On Jun 22, 2013
bobthebuilder99: tpia, I guess you are overweight and this post has upset you. Calm down, no one here even knows what you look like. Every time you write an angry response though, my mental image of you just gets fatter.

Now...a lot of you have said that you still love your fat partner (husband or wife), the second question is are you still ATTRACTED to them? I am not attracted to fat women, so even though I might love my fat wife as a person, I can't see myself wanting to be intimate with her. Is this a problem you deal with in your marriage? Please be honest.
the issue here is you are too much of a pathetic nonentity to start running your stinking mouth over other people's relationships.

get your own life, quit hanging around like a bloody parasite trying to be a devil with no goal besides looking for who will join you in your misery.

when you insult a man's wife, you are insulting the man, did you not know that?

only the absolutely lowest form of lowlife would be waanking to the thought of how his fellow male is sleeping with someone, you sound gayer than gay and like a bush monkey to boot.

how is it your bloody business who or what your fellow male is attracted to? When your cronies are marrying and dating their grandmama's agemate, did you run your s.tupid mouth there?

when your fellow witches are busy snatching other people's husbands like the greedy ba.stards they are, did you run your stinking mouth then?
