obviously, he has no friends, no relatives, no nothing in nigeria.

therefore you're a tourist, and there are other places you can go to instead of suffering yourself unnecessarily.

Christianity Etc › Re: Interesting - The Many Faces Of Jesus by tpia5: 3:59pm On Jan 14, 2013
my guess is, since Jesus didnt stand out when among his disciples, he probably had the features which are found in southern arabia today.

afiq: Christ appear to us in a way we can understand Him, regardless of our skin color or origin. Remember, God created us in His likeness. It is not so much on His images, but it is more on how we can make Him shine (His words & works) through us. That's the kind of 'image' he wants us project out there.

Shalom
true, wise words.

Islam › Re: Prophet Muhammad's Letter To The Monks Of St. Catherine Monastery by tpia5: 5:38am On Jan 14, 2013
abibio2001: In 628 C.E. Prophet Muhammad (s) granted a Charter of Privileges to the monks of St. Catherine Monastery in Mt. Sinai. It consisted of several clauses covering all aspects of human rights including such topics as the protection of Christians, freedom of worship and movement, freedom to appoint their own judges and to own and maintain their property, exemption from military service, and the right to protection in war.
one has to consider:

1. the date of the document

2. the period of islam it was purported to cover ie at what stage of the muslin expansion

3. what was the context in which it was written

4.more info on the monks of st katherine is needed.

a few of the issues arising when discussing the letter.

the pent up fury which was released on this [and some other] thread/s, speaks volumes.

anyway, more on that later, still observing.

the mods here can clean up the thread?
Celebrities › Re: Muhammad Ali's Advice To His Daughters...powerful! by tpia5: 4:53am On Jan 14, 2013
Techwriter: Disclaimer:
Someone has copied this thread and made it an islamic issue and it made front page. First they put it in. An islamic website and started a thread linking the site. Plz note I have no connection whatsoever with that; its the activities of islam and their copycatting.
typically, anything that mentions islam and muslims, is considered an islamic issue by muslim adherents.

although the write up doesnt expressly mention either islam or muslims, the fact that mohammed ali was credited as the author, and his comment seems overtly islamic, would lead to the assumption the article is meant to be viewed only in that context.

in actual fact, its rather ambiguous but open to various interpretations.

that website has no name or anything linking it to an actual human being.

that's fishy, as if the owners of the site are trying to hide.

Techwriter: I started this thread on Nairaland since last week and it didn't make front page until it is made an islamic issue. Someone that did not read the book, copied my post and put it in an islamic website and it now made front page. Muslims should stop this copycating it is sinful; must u copy everything? Just read similar threads recommended by Nland above and u see my own with slight adjustment of title I gave it
which book?

wpope: its true that name matters by reason of spirits that back certain names...but i know that name has nothing with eternity and please salvation is for all regardless of tribe or name.I believe that the effects of names apply only on earth and as long as one is alive.
Most people dont change these names unless they experience some form of attacks directly related to the name.

Sometimes its more about the perception people around you have towards the name, which attracts the particular covenant implied by it.

In general, its up to the individuals involved if they want to keep the name or not.
