Christianity Etc › Re: Why Didn't God Correct Adam When He Found Flaws In Him? by tpia5: 12:33am On Jan 19, 2013
But, I wonder how a man without knowledge of good and evil can manage the earth and its inhabitants.
@ bolded

without knowledge of rebellion.

If disobedience was/is what God found wanting in the Man, Adam that He
just created wouldn't it have been reasonable to correct that flaw? Or would it be logical to say that Adam was sent out of the garden for correctional purposes?
he was sent out of the garden before he was [physically] ready or prepared to leave.

and yes, it was part of the correction.
Genesis 1 vs 26 Then God said, "Let us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the birds of the air, and over the fishes of the seas, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping things that creeps on the earth."

I guess that was the purpose of the creation of Adam, according to that verse of the Bible.
let's assume adam had at the very least, a two-fold ministry (besides being told to be fruitful and multiply):

1. to have dominion over all living creatures (animals, fish and birds) (see your quote)

28 God blessed them and said to them, “Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky and over every living creature that moves on the ground.”
2. to tend the garden (as part of this mandate):

gen 2:

5 Now no shrub had yet appeared on the earth and no plant had yet sprung up, for the Lord God had not sent rain on the earth and there was no one to work the ground
8 Now the Lord God had planted a garden in the east, in Eden; and there he put the man he had formed.
15 The Lord God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to work it and take care of it.
so, he was being prepared to go out of the garden eventually, and apply the principles he had learned there, to the rest of the earth.

do you feel he would have stayed in eden forever if he hadnt sinned?

I dont really see any evidence of that, but you can quote anywhere in the bible you feel gives such an impression.

optimistic7250: Never saw the Forbes piece. You make a good point. That explains the stone face. I am sounding off. I won't allow you to make me miserabale. I guess it's true, Misery loves company. I hear and feel alot of anger, resentment, fear, pain, and hatred.

As my grandmother says, we're all just passing through life. If I were you all, I would try and release some of the anger and frustration. Why did I expect for you to accept me or understand, when you can't get along with each other? For those of you who are saying you don't want to be friendly. I bet you pray to God every night, don't you and stay in church, right?

Do you pray that God keep you safe, in spite of the fact that you hate and despise people in your own race who live in America?

Op

The reason why all the african women in your area, keep frowning at you is because nigeria is miserable.

As you ought to have seen from forbes news the other day, nigeria was ranked the most miserable country, therefore its not clear why you want to defy forbes and disbelieve what they're saying.

Africans come to your area in order to escape the miserable stuff in nigeria, but when you show you yourself are as miserable as them, then its back to square one.

and look at these plaster finishes for example:

not knocking paint, but i think it should be combined with another type of finish which requires less maintenance and lasts longer. And is affordable.

eh, just the usual naija stuff plus some eye openers.

i was looking for a reasonable thread discussing nigerian architecture.

why are red bricks not more commonly used in nigerian buildings, even if only for outer decor, they last longer and dont need excessive maintenance like what we currently have.

they also dont fade so much although this might be debatable.

note, the red bricks could be any colour,

because the daughter doesnt need to convince doubting thomases [mainly herself], that she's still attractive and marketable.

its the woman's burden- age isnt our friend.

and by that i mean, we are scared of age or is it time.

Romance › Re: What's Your Take On A Christian/Muslim Relationship? by tpia5: 8:18pm On Jan 17, 2013
funny thread! undecided

anyway, these topics are getting too much.

my opinion remains its very risky getting into such because you cant write away the vast differences between the couple.

as i said before, some years back, if the guy can follow the woman to church, that shows some level of seriousness though not a hard and fast rule.

just be friends, doesnt have to be a relationship, imo.

i think muslims are better off marrying other muslims although i do know people who have christian mothers but the problem is if the kids are raised muslim- this is not a small matter for any christian who is serious about her religion.

and besides, the man will eventually revert to strict islam later.
