this poster is not a well person.

better ignored but then she might assume no one sees her [or him] undecided

Woged2005: Sister you sound like our nurses got it all in cash and all that (swagger). However reports show that nurses (CNA/ LPNs) are only in the low - median salary ($30k - $65 a yr, same as Taxi drivers and armed security guards) in the USA according to tax information. There are several Nigerians in USA making six figures especially those in IT (average $90k a yr) and financial industries (about $110k a yr) but not having same issues. My friends at UN, IMF/World Bank make almost $120k a year and work only 8hours a day.....
Woged2005: Since I mentioned my intention to switch to nursing profession in order to get a more stable job in USA, my fiancé have developed a cold feet on moving forward while he is working through friends to talk me out of it. Any advice on how one can be a successful nurse in USA and still avoid these marital pitfalls?
you have issues and need help.

Christianity Etc › Re: What World Are Believers Not To Love by tpia5: 7:39pm On Dec 31, 2012
Pride is an inwardly directed emotion that carries two common meanings.

With a negative connotation, pride refers to an inflated sense of one's personal status or accomplishments, often used synonymously with hubris.

With a positive connotation, pride refers to a satisfied sense of attachment toward one's own or another's choices and actions, or toward a whole group of people, and is a product of praise, independent self-reflection, or a fulfilled feeling of belonging
Pride is sometimes viewed as excessive or as a vice, sometimes as proper or as a virtue

Mee234: ok. The pride of life.................. My problem is 'when we Christians draw the line'? What exactly is pride of life? Lust of the flesh i understand a little but pride of life. If one is not proud about the life he/she is living, that life is not worth living.
proud:

1. Feeling pleasurable satisfaction over an act, possession, quality, or relationship by which one measures one's stature or self-worth

2. Occasioning or being a reason for pride

3. Feeling or showing justifiable self-respect.

4. Filled with or showing excessive self-esteem.

5. Of great dignity; honored: a proud name.

6. Majestic; magnificent: proud alpine peaks.

7. Spirited. Used of an animal: proud steeds.
dictionary definitions.

# 3 is different from #4.

the captives were from east/horn of africa, and were headed towards the gulf region/middle east.

you can see the araboid captors in turbans, the atlantic slave traders were white.

the slaves were brought back and freed somewhere off the coast of tanzania, i think.
Culture › Re: Most Plausible Reason Why Some Binis and Igbos Have Fairer Skin Colour by tpia5: 6:55pm On Dec 31, 2012
^thread title says binis, while the threads you pulled up are for igbos only.

there's a difference, unless you consider both the same.
Romance › Re: The Secret Of Making People Like You by tpia5:
@ topic

nice write up, but the thread title should say charisma, since that's what the topic is about.

"how to make people like you" is different from "what is charisma"

the first is easy [develop people skills and flow with the crowd], while the second requires more thought.
Romance › Re: The Secret Of Making People Like You by tpia5: 6:39pm On Dec 31, 2012
Question: Who comes to mind when you think of a charismatic person? Why?
to me, a charismatic person is someone who carries people along with his/her personality.

the term is mostly used in a masculine sense, not sure why.

someone with charisma has the ability to make each individual in a crowd, feel uniquely connected to him/her, regardless of their actual differences.

who comes to mind? Maybe omotola or one of these other celebrities, provided they dont mess up.

Why has been explained already.

omotola does have that ability to connect with people, especially in her interviews.

i think Gov Fashola of Lagos also has charisma, although i've never actually heard him speak.

do the crime, do the time.

if you kill him on the basis of suspicion, and another one rises to do the exact same thing you say you were preventing, what then?

killing is not the solution to every problem. undecided

i mean, if you have bloodlust, just face the fact and turn to Jesus for deliverance.

what do you want- a sign in the sky? huh

[s]I'm sure you know that can be arranged- dont ever doubt the determination of women in pursuit of a man![/s]

at least have a SO, instead of proudly parading your "singleness" in people's faces, jeez. Do you know how unsettling that is for an average lady in search of a partner?
