Literature › Re: Text Book That Wiil Teach Me English by tpia5: 6:55am On Aug 04, 2012
^true.

try brighter grammer as well, or any old nigerian textbook [dont know how you can get them].

or just read novels.

i really dont believe its that hard for a nigerian to speak or write passable english.

if in olden days our parents who were raised by our non-english speaking grandparents, could still learn english even though it wasnt spoken at home, then what excuse do people have today? huh

those pears arent found in nigeria though.

nice ad, but i wish you'd post a more exact picture of what you're selling.

also, your technique of bashing the competition in order to promote your own market, is noted.

Christianity Etc › Re: Seun Should Consider Name Change by tpia5: 12:45am On Aug 04, 2012
bamto: Those are far-fetched assumptions. Oluwa as a prefix for names already has a stereotype. His Christian parents certainly did not have Money in mind when he was named. Otherwise, they would have more appropriately named him Owoseun.
Or olaseun ( i thank money)

How can someone be cursing God constantly while he says his name is thank God.

Anyway, na him sabi sha.

Lord have mercy

Even seun kuti who came from a very anti christian background, isnt this militant.

Oluwa means God.
what does Oluwa meanhuh and isnt it good that he has a traditional namehuh
Oluwa is a christian prefix meaning God, and the op is right to wonder about the topic.

Why should someone who is radically anti-christian bear a christian name?
TV/Movies › Re: Femi Fadeyi In Messy Deal by tpia5: 12:41am On Aug 04, 2012
I wonder why nigerians modify their english when discussing topics that interest them on a personal level, eg nollywood, but speak some kind of unintelligible mumbo jumbo when posting elsewhere on nl.

Just curious.

Its possible they may be tracking you ( ie others) or something.

It sounds like one of those juju hoaxes but it could have some basis in fact. Hard to tell sometimes.

But people can be tracked through their phones.

Lord have mercy.

Romance › Re: Ladies, How Would You React If A Man Takes You To This Kind Of Restaurant? by tpia5: 2:17pm On Aug 02, 2012
£500 is about $1000.

not that some people cant afford it, but there'd have to be the subjective necessity of shelling out that amount compared to say a $50 meal elsewhere.

if, for example, you're wooing dangote's daughter, or adenuga's daughter, $1000 is small change.
